    A Modified Meta-Learner for Few-Shot Learning

    Meta-Learning, or so-called Learning to learn, has become another important research branch in Machine Learning. Different from traditional deep learning, meta-learning can be used to solve one-to-many problems and has a better performance in few-shot learning which only few samples are available in each class. In these tasks, meta-learning is designed to quickly form a relatively reliable model through very limited samples. In this paper, we propose a modified LSTM-based meta-learning model, which can initialize and update the parameters of classifier (learner) considering both short-term knowledge of one task and long-term knowledge across multiple tasks. We reconstruct a Compound loss function to make up for the deficiency caused by the separate one in original model aiming for a quick start and better stability, without taking expensive operation. Our modification enables meta-learner to perform better under few-updates. Experiments conducted on the Mini-ImageNet demonstrate the improved accuracies

    Laboratory study of acoustic velocity in different types of rocks at seismic frequency band

    In order to understand the characteristics of acoustic wave propagation in rocks within seismic frequency band (<100 Hz), the velocities of longitudinal and transverse waves of four different types of rocks were tested using low-frequency stress-strain method by means of the physical testing system of rock at low frequency and the experimental data of acoustic velocities of four different types of rocks at this frequency band were obtained. The experimental results showed that the acoustic velocities of four different types of rocks increased with the increase of temperature and pressure within the temperature and pressure ranges set by the experiment. The acoustic velocity of fine sandstone at 50% water saturation was smaller than that of dry sample. The acoustic velocities of four different types of rocks were different and the velocities of longitudinal waves of gritstone, fine sandstone, argillaceous siltstone and mudstone increased in turn under similar conditions and were smaller than those at ultrasonic frequency. Few of existing studies focus on the acoustic velocity at seismic frequency band, thus, further understanding of the acoustic characteristics at this seismic frequency band still requires more experimental data

    GSK3β Is Involved in JNK2-Mediated β-Catenin Inhibition

    We have recently reported that mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) JNK1 downregulates beta-catenin signaling and plays a critical role in regulating intestinal homeostasis and in suppressing tumor formation. This study was designed to determine whether JNK2, another MAPK, has similar and/or different functions in the regulation of beta-catenin signaling.We used an in vitro system with manipulation of JNK2 and beta-catenin expression and found that activated JNK2 increased GSK3beta activity and inhibited beta-catenin expression and transcriptional activity. However, JNK2-mediated downregulation of beta-catenin was blocked by the proteasome inhibitor MG132 and GSK3beta inhibitor lithium chloride. Moreover, targeted mutations at GSK3beta phosphorylation sites (Ser33 and Ser37) of beta-catenin abrogated JNK2-mediated suppression of beta-catenin. In vivo studies further revealed that JNK2 deficiency led to upregulation of beta-catenin and increase of GSK3-beta phosphorylation in JNK2-/- mouse intestinal epithelial cells. Additionally, physical interaction and co-localization among JNK2, beta-catenin and GSK3beta were observed by immunoprecipitation, mammalian two-hybridization assay and confocal microscopy, respectively.In general, our data suggested that JNK2, like JNK1, interacts with and suppresses beta-catenin signaling in vitro and in vivo, in which GSK3beta plays a key role, although previous studies have shown distinct functions of JNK1 and JNK2. Our study also provides a novel insight into the crosstalk between Wnt/beta-catenin and MAPK JNKs signaling

    Research on Some Phenomenon of E-Government Service Capacity Distribution in Mainland China Based on Multi-channel Perspective

    In the context of the government\u27s increasing emphasis on e-government services, this is an urgent need for empirical research of large sample and multi-channels. Therefore, based on the government website, WeChat, Micro-blog, app, by using the existing mature evaluation index system, this paper analyzes e-government service capacity of the city above prefecture- level and provincial. Then, this paper selects the administrative level, economic level, regional balance as the differentiation attribute. It is found that both administrative level and economic level are positively correlated with government service capacity in all the channels. The channel capacity distribution varies related to attribute of administrative and economic, government type of city and province, but it is not restricted by level and region. It provides direction and intensity management to balance and promote channel service capacity for China government

    summary:This paper investigates the problem of quantized cooperative output regulation of linear multi-agent systems with switching graphs. A novel dynamic encoding-decoding scheme with a finite communication bandwidth is designed. Leveraging this scheme, a distributed protocol is proposed, ensuring asymptotic convergence of the tracking error under both bounded and unbounded link failure durations. Compared with the existing quantized control work of MASs, the semi-global assumption of initial conditions is not required, and the communication graph is only required to be jointly connected. Finally, two simulation examples demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed distributed protocol for bounded and unbounded link failure durations

    Stability and Bifurcation Analysis of a Modified Epidemic Model for Computer Viruses

    We extend the three-dimensional SIR model to four-dimensional case and then analyze its dynamical behavior including stability and bifurcation. It is shown that the new model makes a significant improvement to the epidemic model for computer viruses, which is more reasonable than the most existing SIR models. Furthermore, we investigate the stability of the possible equilibrium point and the existence of the Hopf bifurcation with respect to the delay. By analyzing the associated characteristic equation, it is found that Hopf bifurcation occurs when the delay passes through a sequence of critical values. An analytical condition for determining the direction, stability, and other properties of bifurcating periodic solutions is obtained by using the normal form theory and center manifold argument. The obtained results may provide a theoretical foundation to understand the spread of computer viruses and then to minimize virus risks
