Społeczne, kulturowe i edukacyjne konteksty pedagogiki międzykulturowej, Cieszyn-Ustroń Jaszowiec, 19-21 października 2009 roku

Po raz kolejny Zakład Pedagogiki Ogólnej Uniwersytetu Śląskiego w Cieszynie wraz z Wyższą Szkołą Pedagogiczną Związku Nauczycielstwa Polskiego w Warszawie i Stowarzyszeniem Wspierania Edukacji Międzykulturowej zorganizował w Cieszynie– –Ustroniu Jaszowcu konferencję naukową z udziałem gości zagranicznych, poświęconą zagadnieniom edukacji międzykulturowej. Głównym tematem dyskusji uczyniono społeczne, kulturowe i edukacyjne konteksty pedagogiki międzykulturowej. Wyjątkowego charakteru niniejszej konferencji dodawała przypadająca na ten czas 20 rocznica powstania Zakładu i Katedry Pedagogiki Ogólnej, co nie mogło pozostać niezauważalne przez organizatorów i gości spotkania[...

Szkoły z polskim językiem nauczania wyzwaniem dla edukacji XXI wieku - wybrane zagadnienia

What has a permanent place in modern educational space is the school system for national minorities, including Poles living in a foreign land. The increasing social mobility and a large number of Polish citizens living abroad necessitate the adjusting of the Polish educational offer for the youngest (children and youth) – also outside Poland. In the presented study, the authoress discusses the significance and consequences of contemporary migration and describes the network and offer of schools with Polish as the teaching language. The research results are also discussed of the studies conducted in Polish educational institutions abroad in selected schools (in Austria, France, and the Czech Republic), which allows for specifying the major problems and parental expectations concerning these institutions. The work is completed with a recapitulation. The study constitutes an introduction to broader research into the activity and functioning of schools with Polish as the teaching language and of the agents (learners, teachers, parents) tightly related to their activity

Choć wrzesień pozostaje miesiącem wolnym od zajęć dydaktycznych, nie jest miesiącem wolnym od nauki dla młodych naukowców z całego kraju, którzy, jak co roku, spotkali się w połowie września, by pod czujnym okiem Mistrzów uczyć się i doskonalić swój warsztat pracy w ramach Letniej Szkoły Młodych Pedagogów. Letnie Szkoły Młodych Pedagogów na stałe wpisały się w kalendarz konferencji i szkoleń organizowanych dla młodych naukowców (magistrów i doktorów). Co odróżnia LSMP od innych inicjatyw? A family as an area of interest of intercultural pedagogy

A family constitutes an important area in humanistic studies (among others sociology, psychology, social politics and pedagogy). A family has rooted in the problematic that is dealt by intercultural pedagogy. It does not mean that its structure, role and functioning are not changeable. A family, from the traditional to contemporary model, adjusts to the requirements of the new today reality and society expectations in the individual and global aspect. With reference to the interdisciplinary aspect of a family, the subsequent study presents the issue referring to the particular aspects of a family life. The discussed issues are connected with the family, which is put in two groups – traditional and the one that includes new obstacles and challenges – those which family members as well as specialists might cope with. The first group deals with the acquisition of identity in a family and the analysis of a family as a value viewed by young people. It also captures the values that are transferred in a family in the multicultural relations. The second group includes labor migrations on the verge of the 2121st century – their causes and social-educational effects, as well as the influence of mass media on the functioning of a family. Although all the previously mentioned aspects of a family life were and are still present in intercultural pedagogy, along with the changes in the society, technological progress, the increase of mobility and the opening of borders, there come new challenges for every member of a family. Invariably, a family still seems to be a bridge connecting next generations and a sign post for young people who enter into a social life. Simultaneously, it is the first, but not the only one, link in the process of socialization of an individual.
