Bokmålsordboka og Nynorskordboka gjennom ein generasjon

The standard one-volume monolingual dictionaries Bokmåls - ordboka and Nynorskordboka for the two official forms of Norwegian were launched in 1986. They were edited as a joint project of the Language Council of Norway and the University of Oslo. The focus is on both orthography and definitions. The dictionaries have been available on the web since 1994, and are now both linked to word banks with full forms of updated official orthography. The last years the website has been updated, and there has been technical and also lexicographic upgrade. During 2012 there were 70 million hits. Further technical and lexicographic revision ought to be done for both books

Lokale aktører i kvitfisknæringa ved Lyngenfjorden - forskjellighet og meningsmangfold

Oppgaven omhandler utvalgte aktører i kvitfisknæringa ved Lyngenfjorden. Et område hvor fiskerne er sterkt redusert som følge av fraflytting og modernisering. Men også på grunn av avhengighet av et utsatt eksternt marked for fisk og forvaltningsmessige rammer som har bidratt til en usynliggjøring av forskjellighet i rasjonaliteter og områder som Lyngenfjorden. Aktørene Skjervøy Sjømat, Lyngenfisk og Slottet Gård er tre ulike bedrifter i faser av drift, eierskap og rasjonalitet som også omgir seg med et nettverk av fiskere og mottak. Aktørenes måter å tilpasse seg gjennom praksiser mot marked, forvaltningsmessige rammer og fisk er hovedperspektiver for analysen. Fokuset i oppgaven er fra aktørenes ståsted i næringa, og om deres mestring av lokalitet opp i mot mer eksterne markeds og forvaltningsrelaterte forhold i næringa. Materialitet, eller fisk, i oppgaven drøftes som komplementært bidrag i aktørenes tilpasninger. Fisken følges i nettverk og uttrykk for aktørenes måter å forholde seg til marked og forvaltningsmessige rammer, som viser brytninger, samhold og sårbarhet i måten fiskerne tilpasser seg utvikling i kvitfisknæringa på. Oppgaven søker å vise forskjellighet og meningsmangfold i aktørenes måte å tilpasse seg næringa. Og bidra til et mer nyansert bilde av fjordfiskeren enn før

The article deals with the compilation af a spelling dictionary, Nynorskordlista, based on three electronically stored sources. Two of the sources are printed dictionaries. The types of data extracted from each source are described. The data were combined in to the compilation format of Nynorskordlista. Some advantages of the method are discussed

Bokmål og nynorsk som kjelde- og målspråk i internordiske ordbøker

There are many bilingual dictionaries between Norwegian and the other Nordiclanguages, differing a lot in size, age etc. The paper deals with the use of either ofthe written standards Nynorsk and Bokmål – or both – as source languages and targetlanguages in these dictionaries.Bokmål developed from Danish, which was the only written language in Norwayfor centuries. Nynorsk is based on the dialects of Norway and was launched as awritten norm for a new Norwegian language about 1850. The linguistic differencebetween the two standards is relatively small, partly because of spelling reforms.More than half the vocabulary is common to the two standards. The standards are bylaw given equal official standing, but Bokmål has remained the majority writtenlanguage. Most bilingual dictionaries from or to Norwegian are in Bokmål, mostly ina more traditional subvariety than the official Bokmål standard.In several of the newer bilingual dictionaries from Norwegian to a Nordic languageBokmål and Nynorsk are united in one list, with common words and formsunmarked, whereas specific words and forms have different markers. In some of thedictionaries the source language is mainly Bokmål, supplemented with the mostfrequent Nynorsk words. – This way of dealing with the bilingual situation in Norwayseems at last partly successful, although it does have its problems.There are also bilingual Nordic dictionaries where the source language is monolingualNynorsk or Bokmål.As a target language Bokmål is the dominant language. Det finst nokså mange rettskrivingsordlister til skulebruk i Noreg. Norsk språkråd står for den offentlige godkjenninga av slike ordlister, og følgjer her eit særskilt regelverk.
