Difficulty in the Fermi-Liquid-Based Theory for the In-Plane Magnetic Anisotropy in Untwinned High-T_c Superconductor
Recently, Eremin and Manske [1] presented a oneband Fermi-liquid theory for
the in-plane magnetic anisotropy in untwinned high-Tc superconductor
YBa2Cu3O6:85 (YBCO). They claimed that they found good agreement with inelastic
neutron scattering (INS) spectra. In this Comment, we point out that their
conclusion on this important problem may be questionable due to an error in
logic about the orthorhombicity delta_0 characterizing the lattice structure of
YBCO. In Ref. [1], a single band at delta_0>0 is proved to be in accordance
with the angle resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES) on untwinned YBCO.
But in their Erratum in PRL[3], they admit that delta_0= -0.03 was used to fit
the INS data. Hence publications [1,3] contain errors that we believe
invalidate their approach.Comment: This is a Comment on the paper of I. Eremin, and D. Manske, Phys.

Dynamic Stability of the 3D Axi-symmetric Navier-Stokes Equations with Swirl
In this paper, we study the dynamic stability of the 3D axisymmetric
Navier-Stokes Equations with swirl. To this purpose, we propose a new
one-dimensional (1D) model which approximates the Navier-Stokes equations along
the symmetry axis. An important property of this 1D model is that one can
construct from its solutions a family of exact solutions of the 3D
Navier-Stokes equations. The nonlinear structure of the 1D model has some very
interesting properties. On one hand, it can lead to tremendous dynamic growth
of the solution within a short time. On the other hand, it has a surprising
dynamic depletion mechanism that prevents the solution from blowing up in
finite time. By exploiting this special nonlinear structure, we prove the
global regularity of the 3D Navier-Stokes equations for a family of initial
data, whose solutions can lead to large dynamic growth, but yet have global
smooth solutions
Topology Control in Heterogeneous Wireless Networks: Problems and Solutions
Previous work on topology control usually assumes homogeneous wireless nodes with uniform transmission ranges. In this paper, we propose two localized topology control algorithms for heterogeneous wireless multi-hop networks with nonuniform transmission ranges: Directed Relative Neighborhood Graph (DRNG) and Directed Local Spanning Subgraph (DLSS). In both algorithms, each node selects a set of neighbors based on the locally collected information. We prove that (1) the topologies derived under DRNG and DLSS preserve the network connectivity; (2) the out degree of any node in the resulting topology by DLSS is bounded, while the out degree cannot be bounded in DRNG; and (3) the topologies generated by DRNG and DLSS preserve the network bi-directionality
Wheat bread with dairy products - Technology, nutritional and sensory properties
Featured Application: Bakery industry, as nutritional and functional breads, with a considerable
contribution to balance the daily diet for children and seniors in terms of proteins and mineralsAs the relation between diet and health became a priority for the consumers, the development
of healthy foods enriched with functional ingredients increased substantially. Dairy products represent
an alternative for new products and can be used to enhance the functional and nutritional value
of bakery products. The addition of yoghurt and curd cheese to wheat bread was studied, and the
impact on the dough rheology, microstructure, bread quality, and sensory properties were evaluated.
Dairy product additions from 10 to 50 g and higher levels up to 70 g of yoghurt and 83 g of curd
cheese were tested. Replacements were performed on wheat flour basis and water absorption. It was
observed that the yoghurt additions had a positive impact on the rheology characteristics of the
dough. For curd cheese additions, the best dough evaluated on extension was the 30 g of wheat flour
formulation. In both cases, the microstructure analysis supported the results obtained for doughs and
breads. These breads showed a significant improvement on nutrition profile, which is important to
balance the daily diet in terms of major and trace minerals and is important for health-enhancing and
maintenance. Good sensorial acceptability for breads with 50 g of yoghurt and 30 g of curd cheese
was obtainedinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
On Global Well-Posedness of the Lagrangian Averaged Euler Equations
We study the global well-posedness of the Lagrangian averaged Euler equations in three dimensions. We show that a necessary and sufficient condition for the global existence is that the bounded mean oscillation of the stream function is integrable in time. We also derive a sufficient condition in terms of the total variation of certain level set functions, which guarantees the global existence. Furthermore, we obtain the global existence of the averaged two-dimensional (2D) Boussinesq equations and the Lagrangian averaged 2D quasi-geostrophic equations in finite Sobolev space in the absence of viscosity or dissipation
