    Flavor and CP Violation with Fourth Generations Revisited

    The Standard Model predicts a very small CP violation phase sin2ΦBsSM0.04\sin2\Phi^{\rm SM}_{B_s} \simeq -0.04%= \arg M_{12} \simeq \arg\,(V^*_{ts}V_{tb})^2in in B_s--\bar B_smixing. mixing. %, i.e. of order \lambda^2\eta.Anyfinitevalueof. Combining the measured values of \Delta m_{B_s}with with {\cal B}(B \to X_s\ell^+\ell^-),togetherwithtypical, together with typical f_{B_s}values,wefindasizable values, we find a sizable \sin2\Phi^{\rm SM4}_{B_s} \sim -0.33.Using.     Complementarity of Semileptonic BB to K2(1430)K_2^*(1430) and K(892)K^*(892) Decays in the Standard Model with Fourth Generation

    The BK2(1430)l+lB\rightarrow K_{2}^{\ast}(1430)l^{+}l^{-} (l=μ,τ)(l=\mu,\tau) decays are analyzed in the Standard Model extended to fourth generation of quarks (SM4). The decay rate, forward-backward asymmetry, lepton polarization asymmetries and the helicity fractions of the final state K2(1430)K^{*}_{2}(1430) meson are obtained using the form factors calculated in the light cone sum rules (LCSR) approach. We have utilized the constraints on different fourth generation parameters obtained from the experimental information on KK, BB and DD decays and from the electroweak precision data to explore their impact on the BK2(1430)l+lB\rightarrow K_{2}^{\ast}(1430)l^{+}l^{-} decay. We find that the values of above mentioned physical observables deviate deviate significantly from their minimal SM predications. We also identify a number of correlations between various observables in BK2(1430)l+lB\rightarrow K_{2}^{\ast}(1430)l^{+}l^{-} and BK(892)l+lB\rightarrow K^{\ast}(892)l^{+}l^{-} decays. Therefore a combined analysis of these two decays will compliment each other in the searches of SM4 effects in flavor physics.Comment: 28 pages, 12 figure

    A Sino-German 6cm polarisation survey of the Galactic plane IX. HII regions

    Large-scale radio continuum surveys provide data to get insights into the physical properties of radio sources. HII regions are prominent radio sources produced by thermal emission of ionised gas around young massive stars. We identify and analyse HII regions in the Sino-German 6cm polarisation survey of the Galactic plane. Objects with flat radio continuum spectra together with infrared and/or Halpha emission were identified as HII regions. For HII regions with small apparent sizes, we cross-matched the 6cm small-diameter source catalogue with the radio HII region catalogue compiled by Paladini and the infrared HII region catalogue based on the WISE data. Extended HII regions were identified by eye by overlaying the Paladini and the WISE HII regions onto the 6cm survey images for coincidences. The TT-plot method was employed for spectral index verification. A total of 401 HII regions were identified and their flux densities were determined with the Sino-German 6cm survey data. In the surveyed area, 76 pairs of sources are found to be duplicated in the Paladini HII region catalogue, mainly due to the non-distinction of previous observations with different angular resolutions, and 78 objects in their catalogue are misclassified as HII regions, being actually planetary nebulae, supernova remnants or extragalactic sources that have steep spectra. More than 30 HII regions and HII region candidates from our 6cm survey data, especially extended ones, do not have counterparts in the WISE HII region catalogue, of which 9 are identified for the first time. Based on the newly derived radio continuum spectra and the evidence of infrared emission, the previously identified SNRs G11.1-1.0, G20.4+0.1 and G16.4-0.5 are believed to be HII regions.Comment: version after some minor corrections and language editing, full Table 2 - 5 will appear in CDS, accepted for publication in A&

    Window on Higgs Boson: Fourth Generation bb^\prime Decays Revisited

    Direct and indirect searches of the Higgs boson suggest that 113 GeV mH\lesssim m_H \lesssim 170 GeV is likely. With the LEP era over and the Tevatron Run II search via ppˉWH+Xp\bar p \to WH+X arduous, we revisit a case where WHWH or ZH+ZH + jets could arise via strong bbˉb^\prime\bar b^\prime pair production. In contrast to 10 years ago, the tight electroweak constraint on tt^\prime--bb^\prime (hence tt^\prime--tt) splitting reduces FCNC bbZb^\prime\to bZ, bHbH rates, making bcWb^\prime\to cW naturally competitive. Such a "cocktail solution" is precisely the mix that could evade the CDF search for bbZb^\prime\to bZ, and the bb^\prime may well be lurking below the top.
