Kostprijs biologische Vleeskuikens : primaire productiekosten kuikenvlees
A calculation of the production cost deliver important input for the economical situation on a farm. Based on realized farm data and extra information the production costs for organic broilers has been calculated, which approach the practice as good as possible
Negative magnetoresistance and phase slip process in superconducting nanowires
We argue that the negative magnetoresistance of superconducting nanowires,
which was observed in recent experiments, can be explained by the influence of
the external magnetic field on the critical current of the phase slip process.
We show that the suppression of the order parameter in the bulk superconductors
made by an external magnetic field can lead to an enhancement of both the first
and the second critical currents of the phase slip process in
nanowires. Another mechanism of an enhancement of can come from
decreasing the decay length of the charge imbalance at weak
magnetic fields because is inversely proportional to . The
enhancement of the first critical current leads to a larger intrinsic
dissipation of the phase slip process. It suppresses the rate of both the
thermo-activated and/or quantum fluctuated phase slips and results in
decreasing the fluctuated resistance.Comment: 7 pages, 4 figure
Modelling Urine Nitrogen Production and Leaching Losses for Pasture-Based Dairying Systems
Urine from dairy cattle grazing pastures with high crude protein (CP) concentrations is a major source of N lost in drainage water from New Zealand farms. This paper provides predictions of urinary N leaching losses for a range of stocking rates and levels of supplementation
Influence of Health Status on the Association Between Diabetes and Depression Among Adults in Europe: Findings From the SHARE International Survey.
The association between diabetes and depression, a common health comorbidity in people with diabetes, has been recognized but not well understood. The purpose of this study was to explore the association between diabetes and depression in a large international sample of adults, adjusting for demographics, socioeconomic status, behavioral risks, and current health status.
The association between diabetes and depression was assessed in a sample of 57,004 Europeans ≥50 years of age from 15 European countries using data from the fifth wave of SHARE (the Survey of Health, Ageing, and Retirement in Europe). Multiple logistic regression models of the association between diabetes and depression were conducted, adjusting for potential confounders.
Analyses showed that, despite diabetes being associated with depression in crude and partially adjusted models, further adjustment for self-perceived health made the association between diabetes and depression no longer statistically significant (odds ratio 1.0, 95% CI 0.9-1.0).
Adjustment for a variety of demographic, socioeconomic, behavioral risk, and health status variables reduced the estimated association between diabetes and depression until it was no longer significant. Further research should explore the specific symptoms of distress characterized in people with diabetes
Exact Effective Action and Spacetime Geometry in Gauged WZW Models
We present an effective quantum action for the gauged WZW model
. It is conjectured that it is valid to all orders of the
central extension on the basis that it reproduces the exact spacetime
geometry of the zero modes that was previously derived in the algebraic
Hamiltonian formalism. Besides the metric and dilaton, the new results that
follow from this approach include the exact axion field and the solution of the
geodesics in the exact geometry. It is found that the axion field is generally
non-zero at higher orders of even if it vanishes at large . We work
out the details in two specific coset models, one non-abelian, i.e.
and one abelian, i.e SL(2,\IR)\otimes
SO(1,1)^{d-2}/SO(1,1). The simplest case SL(2,\IR)/\IR corresponds to a
limit.Comment: 20 pages, harvmac, USC-93/HEP-B1, (The exact general expression for

Evaluation of Acoustic Emission NDE of Kevlar Composite Over Wrapped Pressure Vessels
Pressurization and failure tests of small Kevlar/epoxy COPV bottles were conducted during 2006 and 2007 by Texas Research Institute Austin, Inc., at TRI facilities. This is a report of the analysis of the Acoustic Emission (AE) data collected during those tests. Results of some of the tests indicate a possibility that AE can be used to track the stress-rupture degradation of COPV vessels
Evaluation of Acoustic Emission NDE of Composite Crew Module Service Module/Alternate Launch Abort System (CCM SM/ALAS) Test Article Failure Tests
Failure tests of CCM SM/ALAS (Composite Crew Module Service Module / Alternate Launch Abort System) composite panels were conducted during July 10, 2008 and July 24, 2008 at Langley Research Center. This is a report of the analysis of the Acoustic Emission (AE) data collected during those tests
Evaluation of Acoustic Emission SHM of PRSEUS Composite Pressure Cube Tests
A series of tests of the Pultruded Rod Stitched Efficient Unitized Structure (PRSEUS) pressure cube were conducted during third quarter 2011 at NASA Langley Research Center (LaRC) in the Combined Loads Test facility (COLTS). This is a report of the analysis of the Acoustic Emission (AE) data collected during those tests. The AE signals of the later tests are consistent with the final failure progression through two of the pressure cube panels. Calibration tests and damage precursor AE indications, from preliminary checkout pressurizations, indicated areas of concern that eventually failed. Hence those tests have potential for vehicle health monitoring
