On Coloring Resilient Graphs

We introduce a new notion of resilience for constraint satisfaction problems, with the goal of more precisely determining the boundary between NP-hardness and the existence of efficient algorithms for resilient instances. In particular, we study $r$-resiliently $k$-colorable graphs, which are those $k$-colorable graphs that remain $k$-colorable even after the addition of any $r$ new edges. We prove lower bounds on the NP-hardness of coloring resiliently colorable graphs, and provide an algorithm that colors sufficiently resilient graphs. We also analyze the corresponding notion of resilience for $k$-SAT. This notion of resilience suggests an array of open questions for graph coloring and other combinatorial problems.Comment: Appearing in MFCS 201

Modeling Electrical Arc Furnaces for Voltage Flicker and Hamornic Study

Voltage flicker and harmonic are problems related to power quality which are brought to a power system via non-linear and stochastic behavior of an arc furnace in operation. Steel makers worry about these effects and try to take precaution measures to minimize them. Therefore, it is necessary to construct arc furnace models to simulate their various operational situations. In this paper, the authors introduce three different models of arc furnaces by means of Matlab Simulink. Simulation results are also introduced and compared. In addtition, the authors also introduce the study of voltage flicker and propose another way of researching this issue. The results of the analysis, discussion and further research suggestions are presented at the end of this paper

Study of Designing and Manufacturing of Simili Film-Coating Machine

The purpose of this paper is to present research results of designing and manufacturing of simili film coating machine on plastic profile to produce wood simili products. Based on advantages and disadvantages of the products which have been used widely in the market recently, the researchers decided to choose a method of using simili film coating on plastic materials to make new products that can replace others made from wood. The study designed 3D drawing of Coating machine system thanks to Solidworks software, including four main units such as stock feeding unit, coating unit, cutting and heating unit, glue providing and glue drying unit. The system was fabricated successfully on CNC machine. Experimental coating process was carried out at Quang Thanh Plastic Company, Hoa Khanh industrial Zone, Danang City and the experimental result shows that recommended coating temperature is about 1220C. These wood simili products initially show their effectiveness of coated-surface quality and easier pressing roller adjustment

Diabetes is one of the Fastest growing chronic diseases in Vietnam with the prevalence rate increasing from 2,4% to 7,9% in 2015. over the past 30 years, This research aims to help diabetics spend less cost for monitoring glucose, insulin and A1C levels; to remind patients to take medication, exercise, or to warn about glucose level; Using mobile apps to contact with doctors and healthcare providers,we focus on providing diabetics with free website, apps,consultant network and community development..This research has been widely applied in practice with more than 5,000 patients using the app;50000 community members caring for diabetic patients online and more than 100 successful connections between diabetic patients with doctors and reliable medical facilities

Study of Student Engagement Levels in Class Activities

This paper presents the results obtained from application of active learning methods into lectures to students of Mechanical Engineering classes.The traditional methods of teaching make students become more and more passive when they are in class. This leads to serious consequences that directly affect students' achievement. Firstly, students will easily fall asleep during the lesson or lecture. Secondly, students find it very difficult to understand the lessons and concentrate on their study. Finally, students will lack communicative competence after graduating from university. In order to make students get involved in class activities, the author will suggest some useful techniques, including group discussion, learning by teaching and giving marks to students who have good answers and presentations in front of the class. To examine the reliability of these techniques, one survey was conducted with a questionnaire. The result shows that group discussions and interactions between students and teacher are two important factors for student engagement in the classroom with assent of about 87,5% of total number of students taught
