This study took place at a medical college with 57 Arabic first-year students taking an intensive English course. The aim was to address the problems that learners experience when using the English tenses properly. The didactic model was developed and implemented in the study group only (27 students). Pre, mid-, and post-tests were administered to study and control groups at three points in time. The model is a selection of aspects from different methods combined aiming to lead participants to a higher level of linguistic competence in terms of language awareness, reading and writing skills, and vocubulary building. The results indicated statistically significant differences in the post-test between the two groups over time regarding the level of linguistic competence.

The role of interactional feedback (IF) has been the interest of researchers in communicational context. Some studies have shown low rate of improvement following IF in a classroom setting, hence a shift to computer-assisted feedback. This study explored IF in a mobile-mediated environment (MMIF) on Telegram and compared it with in-class IF. The aim was to solve the problem of students who were unable to attend classes regularly due to family or schoolwork conditions. Forty highschool and undergraduate students of low intermediate level were randomly assigned to two groups. The experimental group attended three sessions out of six: an introductory one for pre-test and the procedure; a halfway session for face-to-face discussions with the teacher; and one for post-test and assessment of the procedure. The control group attended six regular classes. The experimental group sent their compositions online to the teacher who highlighted the mistakes and posted them to be discussed by the learners who were further divided into subgroups of five for more opportunity to participate and by the teacher who provided more feedback when needed. Data were collected from the first and last compositions produced in-class by both groups and results were compared with a focus on article use. The mixed method study revealed that MMIF is advantageous and time-saving

Today, tourism is a factor of economic growth. It has become one of the most developed sectors in the world, including planning, construction, promotion and marketing. As a source of currency, it is a catalyst for economic development and the development of basic services.Tafilalet is one of Morocco's oasis tourist area. It has a rich and diverse heritage that makes it a destination for tourists and visitors from the world. The tourism routes project, which can contribute to the development of a pioneering development, will qualify these oasis region to be competitive and consolidate integration with other national areas. In this article, we will attempt to identify the importance of tourism routes in Tafilalet and how to contribute to the territorial developmen

Program of certification of the moroccan tourism development companies. Case of a certification program of the development and promotion company of Taghazout resort, Souss-Massa region, (Morocco)

Inspired by several international experiments, in particular French and Spanish, the Society for the Development and Promotion of Taghazout Resort (SAPST) engaged in an approach of sustainable development with an aim of preserving the natural resources, to respect and develop the sociocultural authenticity of the Souss-Massa region and to promote energy efficiency. The SAPST chose to set up a system of environmental management combining three approachs of certification: the High Environmental Quality building (HQE) certification; the Quality, Safety at Work and Environment (QSE) certification and the Green Globe certification. In this proposal, we would try to follow the evolution of these approachs of certification since the year 2012 until currently to understand this passion for the environment and to check if it is a question of a real attempt of repairing the damage caused by the tourist activity over the era of naturalness of the project of the Taghazout resort or of a simple operation of “green marketing”, which would be only the concretization of an entrepreneurial approach, a kind of environmental ethics which would hide a green business.

Post-menopausal endometrial tuberculosis mimicking carcinoma: An important differential diagnosis to consider

We report the case of a menopausal 74-year-old patient who presents pyorrhoea for 6months. We suspect initially a carcinoma process, but the anatomopathological examination takings obtained by biopsy curettage of the endometrial under hysteroscopy is in favor of an inflammatory infiltrate with epithelioid and giant cells of type Langhans and type Muller without caseous necrosis. The bacteriological direct examination after coloring of Gram, Ziehl–Neelsen and Sabouraud was negative. The bacteriological culture in the Löewenstein and Coletsos environment identified Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The searches for another source of the infection was negative both at the pulmonary and urinary levels. An antituberculous quadritherapy allows the fast clinical improvement. The tuberculosis remains frequent but rarely genital. It is especially the case of young women, from non industrialized countries, consulting for infertility. It is necessary to know how to evoke it front in pelvic symptoms, whatever the age is and to realize easily mycobacteriological examinations

Bioactive Compounds and Antioxidant, Antiperoxidative, and Antihemolytic Properties Investigation of Three Apiaceae Species Grown in the Southeast of Morocco

    No full text
For a long time, Apiaceae species have been widely employed in the southeast of Morocco for culinary and folk healing purposes. In the current study, we investigated three Apiaceae herbs known as coriander (Coriandrum sativum), celery (Apium graveolens), and parsley (Petroselinum crispum) for their antioxidant, antiperoxidative, and antihemolytic properties. The HPLC-DAD has been used to classify and measure phenolic compounds. The major phenolic compounds studied were p-coumaric, chlorogenic, caffeic acids, luteolin, and quercetin. The polyphenol level was also estimated via Folin–Ciocalteu’s method, aluminium chloride, and acidified vanillin. Parsley showed the highest polyphenol level and, thus, showed potential antioxidant activities demonstrated by DPPH, ABTS scavenging tests, and reducing power (FRAP), as well as TBARS assays. Very strong correlations were depicted among phenol levels and antioxidant assays (R2 ≥ 0.910) and among antihemolytic activity and flavonoids (R2 ≥ 0.927), indicating the implication of phenolic compounds, mainly flavonoids, in the antiradical properties. These finding may prove the traditional use of these Apiaceae species in the management of numerous disorders cited within the Moroccan pharmacopoeia

Objective: To evaluate the anti-inflammatory, anticoagulant and antioxidant effects of aqueous extracts of thyme varieties from Moroccan. Methods: The aqueous extracts of tree medicinal plants [Thymus atlanticus (T. atlanticus), Thymus satureioides and Thymus zygis (T. zygis)] were screened for their antioxidant activity using 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl radical-scavenging, ferric reducing antioxidant power assay, radical scavenging activity method, the inhibition of 2,2'-azobis (2-amidinopropane) dihydrochloride that induces oxidative erythrocyte hemolysis and thiobarbituric acid reactive substances assay. The anti-inflammatory activity of aqueous extracts was evaluated in vivo using croton oil-induced ear edema and carrageenan-induced paw edema in mice and rats, respectively. This extracts were evaluated in vitro for their anticoagulant activity at the different concentrations by partial thromboplastin time and prothrombin time activated. Results: All thyme varieties were found to possess considerable antioxidant activity and potent anti-inflammatory activity in the croton oil-induced edema. Administration of aqueous extracts of two varieties (50 mg/kg) (T. zygis and T. atlanticus) reduced significantly the carrageenan-induced paw edema similar to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (indomethacin, 10 mg/kg). In partial thromboplastin time and prothrombin time tests, T. atlanticus and T. zygis extracts showed the strongest anticoagulant activity. In contrast, Thymus satureioides did not show the anticoagulant activity in these tests. Conclusions: All aqueous extracts possess considerable antioxidant activity and are rich in total polyphenol and flavonoid but they act differently in the process of inflammatory and coagulation studied. This study shows great variability of biological activities in thyme varieties
