The author reconsiders the various meanings and uses of the psychoanalytic concept of countertransference and questions both the classical negative version and the modem positive conception, as well as the narrative myth about the historical evolution of the concept itself. It is argued that rather than a choice, an oscillation between positionsis recommended, and a narrowing of definition is desirable. The author calls for self-critical reflection on the part of the therapist and points to Ferenczi's description of elasticity in technique, as an inspiration in contrast to any particular dogmatism.Forskellige positioner og forståelser i det psykoanalytiske modoverføringsbegrebs historie diskuteres og deres implikationer problematiseres. Omgivelsernes faciliterende betydning: En introduktion til Winnicotts objektrelationsteori

In recent years the work of the British psychoanalyst and paediatrician D.W. Winnicott and his contributions to the so-called object relations theory have enjoyed increasing interest. It is argued that Winnicott is one of the most original and influential figures in post-warpsychodynamical tradition, on a parwith Klein, Bion and Lacan. Winnicott's works and original concepts are presented. An examination of Winnicott's theory on early emotional development in relation to the child's facilitating environment is the principal part of the paper, specifically the turning point in development where the infant is moving from a dependence of the mother's empathic »holding« to higher integration and independence. In specific relation to this crucial process Winnicott with his concepts of transitional phenomena and objects has examined the basic aspects of human object relating which in tum determine later object relationships, including the treatment setting. In addition to theory the article examines Winnicott's views on therapy; finally Winnicott's works and influence are related to his personal background and to the evolution of the psychoanalytical movement.Der er en øget interesse for den britiske psykoanalytiker og pædiater D. W. Winnicott og hans bidrag til den såkaldte objektrelationsteori. Winnicott fremhæves i artiklen som efterkrigstidens mest originale nytænker i den psykodynamiske tradition, på linie med Klein, Bion og Lacan. Artiklen intenderer en introduktion til Winnicotts arbejde med en præsentation af hans originale begreber. Hovedvægten er lagt på en fremstilling af Winnicotts »teori« om barnets emotionelle udvikling i samspil med sine faciliterende omgivelser, især den vigtige periode hvor det lille barn i sin udvikling bevæger sig fra afhængighedaf moderens empatiske »holding« mod stadig større integration og uafhængighed. Det er i forbindelse med denne afgørende proces, Winnicott med begreberne om »overgangsfænomener« og »oovergangsobjekter« har beskrevet de grundlæggende aspekter ved menneskelig objektrelateren, som også er afgørende betydningsfulde for senere objektrelationer -herunder den terapeutiske relation. Foruden teoretiske bidrag fremstilles og vurderes også Winnicotts synspunkter påden terapeutiske proces og endelig søges Winnicott, hans arbejder og betydning relateret til hans personlige baggrwui og den psykoanalytiske bevægelses udvikling

Det ubevidste i objektrelationsteorien

The article contains an account of the fate that the concept of the unconscious has undergone in the theories of Melanie Klein and D.W. Winnicott. On the basis of a statement of aspects of Freud's conception of the unconscious, an account of the Kleiniancomprehension of unconscious phantasies and their roles in the subject's internal world is given. Furthermore we present some theoretical problems related to the concept of internal objects. Finally we discuss the position of the unconscious in Winnicott'stheory. Here it is argued that Winnicott's focus of interest moves to the intermediate area between internal world and external reality. In this context we expound the essential splitting in the True and the False Self and the relation of these concepts to the Freudian formulations of the psychical apparatus.Artiklen rummer en fremstilling af den skæbne, begrebet det ubevidste har undergået i Melanie Kleins og D. W. Winnicotts teorier.På basis af en redegørelse for aspekter af Freuds tænkning om det ubevidste beskrives den kleinianske forståelse af ubevidste fantasier og deres rolle i subjektets indre verden. Der gives desuden en redegørelse for teoretiske problemer i forbindelse med begrebet om indre objekter. Endelig diskuteres begrebet det ubevidstes status i Winnicotts teori. Her argumenteres for, at Winnicotts interessefokus flyttes til det mellemliggende område mellem indre verden og ydre realitet. I denne sammenhæng redegøres for den centrale spaltning i det sande og falske selv og begrebernes relation til Freuds opdelinger af det psykiske apparat
