Low-Energy Effective Lagrangian in Unified Theories with Non-Universal Supersymmetry Breaking Terms

    Get PDF
Supersymmetric grand unified theories with non-universal soft supersymmetry breaking terms are studied. By integrating out the superheavy fields at an unification scale, we compute their low-energy effective Lagrangian. We find new contributions to the scalar potential specific to the non-universal supersymmetry breaking. DD-term contribution to the scalar masses is one example. The gauge hierarchy achieved by a fine-tuning in the superpotential would be violated in general due to the non-universal SUSY breaking terms. We show, however, it is preserved for a certain class of the soft terms derived from a {\em hidden} ansatz. We also discuss some phenomenological implications of the non-universal supersymmetry breaking, including predictions of the radiative electroweak symmetry breaking scenario and of no-scale type models.Comment: 29 pages, LaTeX, DPSU-9402,LBL-35731,UCB-PTH-94/16,TU-45

Grouting in Consideration of Predominant Direction of Joints in Rock Masses

    Get PDF
We conducted a grouting test in rock mass having steep joints with predominant direction, assuming blanket grouting for embankment dams. Vertical holes and inclined holes designed in consideration of the predominant direction of the joints were used as grouting holes, and the hole spacing was determined such that the number of grouting holes per unit area on a joint was the same for both cases. As a result, both tests saw a similar improvement despite the fact that the test using inclined holes had wider hole spacing than the test using vertical holes on the ground surface. We can also reduce the total drilling length of grouting holes if we use inclined holes instead of vertical holes, the hole spacing of which is determined in this manner, and thus we have demonstrated the usefulness of grouting that considers the predominant direction of joints in rock mass

Survey of Seepage Through Heightened Earthfill Dam With High-density Electrical Prospecting Method

    Get PDF
High-density electrical prospecting was conducted on a heightened earthfill darn during the first filling of the reservoir to study the possibility of applying this prospecting method to examination of zoned structures inside an embankment darn and monitoring of seepage through the dam body. Visual Inspection and measurement with the measuring devices were also conducted to control the safety of the dam. As a result, it was found that zoned structures inside the dam such as a newly built embankment, an existing embankment, and drain are zones each having a different resistivity value. In addition, since the area where the resistivity inside the darn body changed with the impounding almost coincided with the area where pore water pressure changed, the seepage area is an area where the resistivity changed

FACILE AND SENSITIVE HPLC-UV METHOD FOR DETERMINATION OF NINTEDANIB IN RAT PLASMA

    Get PDF
Objective: In this study, a facile and sensitive high-performance liquid chromatographic method for determination of nintedanib in rat plasma was developed and validated. Methods: After plasma protein was precipitated by addition of acetonitrile, the supernatant underwent centrifugation. An aliquot was then injected into a high-performance liquid chromatographic system with a Mightysil RP-18 GP II ODS column (250 × 3.0 mm, length by inner diameter, 5-μm particle size) maintained at 50 °C. A mobile phase mixture of 20 mmol phosphate buffer (pH 3.0) and acetonitrile (7:3, v/v) was used at a flow rate of 0.6 mL/min, with UV detection at a wavelength of 390 nm for isocratic separation and detection of nintedanib, its main metabolite (BIBF1202), and p-nitrophenol as an internal standard. Results: The quantitative range of nintedanib concentration in this method was 12.5–400 ng/ml, and the calibration curves were linear. The intra-and inter-day accuracy values (relative errors) were in the range of −3.65%–4.00% and −3.65%–3.64%, respectively. The intra-and inter-day precision values (relative standard deviations) were<5.9% and 8.36%, respectively. The method was successfully applied to a pharmacokinetic analysis of nintedanib in rats after intravenous administration. Conclusion: In this study, a rapid, sensitive, and simple HPLC-UV method for the quantitation of nintedanib in rat plasma was developed and validated. The method was shown to be accurate and precise and was successfully applied to a pharmacokinetic study

Vth-Shiftable SRAM Cell TEGs for Direct Measurement for the immunity of the Threshold Voltage Variability

We developed VTSTs for 6T-SRAM and RL-SRAM and evaluated them to investigate the influences of SRAM operation by Vth fluctuation using measured FCMs and CΔVths. As a result, we successfully confirmed the superior immunity of Vth fluctuation of the RL-SRAM than the 6T-SRAM.IEEE International Conference on Microelectronic Test Structures (ICMTS 2017), 27-30 March 2017, Grenoble, Franc
