Higher-dimensional WZW Model on K\"ahler Manifold and Toroidal Lie Algebra
We construct a generalization of the two-dimensional Wess-Zumino-Witten model
on a -dimensional K\"ahler manifold as a group-valued non-linear sigma
model with an anomaly term containing the K\"ahler form. The model is shown to
have an infinite-dimensional symmetry which generates an -toroidal Lie
algebra. The classical equation of motion turns out to be the
Donaldson-Uhlenbeck-Yau equation, which is a -dimensional generalization of
the self-dual Yang-Mills equation.Comment: 12 pages, Late
Plasmon modes in single gold nanodiscs
Optical properties of single gold nanodiscs were studied by scanning near-field optical microscopy. Near-field transmission spectra of a single nanodisc exhibited multiple plasmon resonances in the visible to near-infrared region. Near-field transmission images observed at these resonance wavelengths show wavy spatial features depending on the wavelength of observation. To clarify physical pictures of the images, theoretical simulations based on spatial correlation between electromagnetic fundamental modes inside and outside of the disc were performed. Simulated images reproduced the observed spatial structures excited in the disc. Mode-analysis of the simulated images indicates that the spatial features observed in the transmission images originate mainly from a few fundamental plasmon modes of the disc
Ca II K Spectral Study of an Emerging Flux Region using Domeless Solar Telescope in Hida Observatory
A cooperative observation with Hida observatory and Hinode satellite was
performed on an emerging flux region. The successive Ca II K spectro-heliograms
of the emerging flux region were taken by the Domeless Solar Telescope of Hida
observatory. Hinode observed the emerging flux region with Ca II H and Fe I
Stokes IQUV filtergrams. In this study, detailed dynamics and temporal
evolution of the magnetic flux emergence was studied observationally. The event
was first detected in the photospheric magnetic field signals. 3 minutes later,
the horizontal expansion of the dark area was detected. And then, 7 minutes
later than the horizontal expansion, the emerging loops were detected with the
maximal rise speed of 2.1 km/s at chromospheric heights. The observed dynamics
of emerging magnetic flux from the photosphere to the upper chromosphere is
well consistent with the results of previous simulation works. The gradual
rising phase of flux tubes with a weak magnetic strength was confirmed by our
observation.Comment: 14 pages, 7 figure
A Rare Case of Inflammatory Myofibroblastic Tumor of the Diaphragmatic Parietal Pleura with Dissemination
Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor (IMT) is a rare neoplasm that occurs at different sites in the body. Pleural IMT in particular is especially rare. IMTs infrequently tend to have malignancy. We report a rare case of advanced diaphragmatic parietal pleural IMT with dissemination. A 30-year-old woman complained of right upper abdominal pain. Computed tomography showed a large lobulated mass over the right diaphragm, but no disseminated nodules were noted. Intraoperatively, we found the primary tumor arising from the diaphragmatic parietal pleura and a dozen disseminated nodules, and we removed them completely. The histopathological and immunohistochemical diagnosis was IMT
距骨壊死に対するアルミナセラミック性人工距骨置換術のSAFE-Qを用いた臨床成績
Background: The purpose of this retrospective review was to evaluate the clinical outcomes
of patients who underwent total talar replacement for talar necrosis using the SAFE-Q score, which was hypothesized to improve postoperatively. Methods: The study included 24 ankles of 22 patients who underwent total talar replacement from 2012 to 2018 and were evaluated using SAFE-Q preoperatively and postoperatively. Statistical analysis was performed using the mean values of the SAFE-Q and JSSF scale scores, and the range of ankle motion was compared before and 3 years after the surgery using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test. Results: The SAFE-Q scores improved postoperatively in the all the subcategories. “Pain and Pain-Related” changed from a mean value of 42.2±23.9 points preoperatively to a mean value of 84.6±12.6 points postoperatively (p<.01); “Physical Functioning and Daily Living” changed from 36.3±25.2 points to 73.4±20.5 points (p<.01); “Social Functioning” changed from 34.1±34.8 points to 81.0±25.3 points (p<.01); “Shoe-Related” changed from 41.3±28.9 points to 75.4±22.3 points (p<.01); “General Health and Well-Being” changed from 36.7±32.1 to 76.9±29.3 points (p<.01). Conclusion: Twenty-four osteonecrotic tali of 22 patients treated with alumina ceramic total talar replacement achieved good clinical results, as evaluated using the JSSF ankle/hindfoot score and SAFE-Q. Alumina ceramic total talar replacement is the mainstream treatment for talar osteonecrosis.博士(医学)・甲第856号・令和4年12月22
Toda Lattice Hierarchy and the Topological Description of the c=1 String Theory
The Toda lattice hierarchy is discussed in connection with the topological
description of the string theory compactified at the self-dual radius. It
is shown that when special constraints are imposed on the Toda hierarchy, it
reproduces known results of the string theory, in particular the
relations among tachyon correlation functions. These constraints
are the analogues of string equations in the topological minimal theories. We
also point out that at the Landau-Ginzburg superpotential becomes simply
a current operator.Comment: 11 pages, Latex file, UT-67
Silenced Expression of NFKBIA in Lung Adenocarcinoma Patients with a Never-smoking History
Nuclear factor of κ-light polypeptide gene enhancer in B cells inhibitor α (NFKBIA), which is a tumor suppressor gene, was found to be silenced in lung adenocarcinomas. We examined NFKBIA expression, mutations in the EGFR and K-ras genes, and EML4-ALK fusion in 101 resected lung adenocarcinoma samples from never-smokers. NFKBIA expression was evaluated using immunohistochemistry. NFKBIA expression was negative in 16 of the 101 samples (15.8%). EGFR and K-ras mutations and EML4-ALK fusion were detected in 61 (60.5%), 1 (1.0%), and 2 (2.0%) of the 101 samples, respectively, in a completely mutually exclusive manner. Negative NFKBIA expression was observed significantly more frequently among the tumors with none of the three genetic alterations compared to those with such alterations (p=0.009). In addition, negative NFKBIA expression was significantly more frequent among the EGFR-wild type samples compared to the EGFR-mutant samples (p=0.013). In conclusion, NFKBIA expression was silenced in adenocarcinomas without EGFR/K-ras mutations or EML4-ALK fusion, suggesting that the silencing of NFKBIA may play an important role in the carcinogenesis of adenocarcinomas independent of EGFR/K-ras mutations or EML4-ALK fusion
