    No full text
Wound healing, long neglected, has for a number of years begun to receive the attention it deserves in both scientific and clinical circles. This review of the wound healing process is divided into two sections: basic science aspects of wound healing and practical aspects of wound healing. The first section deals with the current knowledge of the three phases of wound healing. The second section is subdivided into acute and chronic wounds. Methods to speed healing of acute wounds and a problem-oriented approach to the management of chronic wounds is discussed, including the potential treatment options based on the causes of wounds
