Speech Acts: Force Behind Words

Speech act is a part of pragmatics where there are certain aims beyond the words or phrases when a speaker says something. Speech acts are acts that refer to the action performed by produced utterances. People can perform an action by saying something. Through speech acts, the speaker can convey physical action merely through words and phrases. The conveyed utterances are paramount to the actions performed. In regard to the English as a foreign language, there are things to consider. It is easy for the speakers or listeners to determine the intended meaning of utterances if they are spoken in the mother tongue. Factors such as idiomatic expressions and cultural norms are not function as barriers to determine the intended meaning

Penentuan Lokasi Fasilitas Crossdock pada Kota Metropolis dengan Pendekatan Center Of Gravity

Untuk memenuhi kebutuhan pasokan barang pada kota metropolis yang padat penduduk, kendaraan angkut besar tidak bisa langsung masuk ke dalam kota, karena adanya batasan kelas jalan. Penentuan lokasi fasilitas cross dock menjadi sangat vital karena akan sangat berpengaruh pada seberapa responsif pasokan barang dari titik pasokan ke semua retail yang ada di dalam kota. Sebagai study kasus, di dalam penelitian ini dilakukan pemilihan lokasi terbaik diantara beberapa alternatif lokasi fasilitas cross dock untuk menyokong kebutuhan logistik retail modern di Surabaya. Berdasarkan Focus Group Discussion (FGD) Didapatkan 4 alternatif lokasi yang bisa digunakan untuk fasilitas cross dock. Dengan menggunakan metode Center of Gravity (CoG) didapatkan Lokasi fasilitas cross dock yang paling kecil cost-nya adalah lokasi alternatif dengan TC : sebesar 43.359,2 yang berada di daerah Surabaya Timur

Numerical Study of Predator-Prey Model with Beddington-DeAngelis Functional Response and Prey Harvesting

A modified Leslie-Gower predator-prey model with Beddington-DeAngelis functional response and Michaelis-Menten type prey harvesting is studied. The equilibrium points of the system are investigated. To see the stability of each equilibrium point, we perform some numerical simulations. Our numerical simulations show that the extinction of prey or survival of both prey and predator are conditionally stable

Pengaruh Kualitas Produk Dan Kualitas Pelayanan Terhadap Kepuasan Pelanggan Wana Wisata Gonoharjo Perum Perhutani Unit I Jawa Tengah

Companies that are able to compete in the markets are the company that provides quality products or services. So the company is expected to continue to make improvements, especially on quality of products and services. Companies also need to seek advice service to give the best to their customers. This requires the identification of the main determinants of service quality from the perspective of the consumers. This study aims is to determine the quality of product and service quality Wana Wisata Gonoharjo and to investigate the effect of product quality and service quality on customer satisfaction Wana Wisata Gonoharjo. This type of research is explanatory, to explain the causal relationship between the variables of quality products or services on customer satisfaction. Its population is Wana Wisata Gonoharjo's visitors, the number of samples in this study amounted to 100 people. The sampling on this study is used ‘Accidental sampling' method. Data collection methods used is literature studies, observation and questionnaires. Data analysis in this study is qualitative and quantitative analysis using validity, reliability testing, cross tables, simple linear regression, multiple linear regression, T test and F test and the coefficient of determination. Based on the data analysis and simultaneously partial quality products or services has a positive impact on customer satisfaction variables Wana Wisata Gonoharjo Kendal. Partially, the influence of product quality to customer satisfaction is at 47.3%. The effect of service quality on customer satisfaction is 40.2%. Simultaneously, the influence of product quality and service quality on customer satisfaction is 55.2%. To improve customer or visitors satisfaction of Wana Wisata Gonoharjo, superintendent should be able to improve product and service quality provided to the customer, with the addition of variants attractions like water boom or improved services

The people of Dukuh Cultural Village Garut Regency, West Java are a group of community who live in traditional life pattern, respect the culture and tradition of their ancestor and stay in simply way. The USAge of plants traditionally by local people is decrease keep pace with the modern development. This condition may occur to the people of Dukuh Cultural Village. Therefore the study concerning the ethnobotany of local people at Dukuh Cultural Village should be done. This study was the early documentation of indigenous knowledge of Dukuh Cultural Village people. It is hopefully the result can be delivered and developed by young generation of Dukuh Cultural Village and people in general. The villagers' lifestyle in Dukuh Cultural Village that is synergy to the nature should be maintained well in order to keep sustainable environmental and give benefit to social life
