The XV-5B fan-in-wing aircraft and the Y0V-10 RCF rotating cylinder flap aircraft were subjected to wind tunnel tests. These tests were conducted specifically to provide for correlation between wind tunnel and inflight aerodynamics and noise test data. Correlation between aerodynamic and noise data are presented and testing techniques that are related to the accuracy of the data, or that might affect the correlations, are discussed

An interim draft of a set of test procedures, developed by NASA/ERDA, for the manufacture of solar cells is introduced. This version includes procedures for cell testing both outdoors in natural sunlight and indoors in simulated sunlight, a description of the necessary apparatus and equipment, the calibration and use of standard solar cells, and a proposed air-mass-two (AM2) solar spectrum

Interim solar cell testing procedures for terrestrial applications

This report presents an interim draft of procedures for testing solar cells for terrestrial applications that resulted from the terrestrial photovoltaic workshop sessions. A final version of the test procedures manual is planned for the summer of 1976

User's guide for the Nimbus 7 ERB Solar Analysis Tape (ESAT)

Five years of Nimbus 7 ERB solar data is available in compact form on a single ERB solar analysis tape (ESAT). The period covered is November 16, 1978 through October 31, 1983. The Nimbus 7 satellite performs just under 14 orbits a day and the ERB solar telescope observe the Sun once per orbit as the satellite passes + or - near the south pole. The data were carefully calibrated and screened. Mean orbital and daily values are given for the total solar irradiance plus selected spectral intervals. In addition, selected solar activity indicators are on the tape. The ERB experiment, the solar data calibration and screening procedures, the solar activity indicators, and the tape format are described briefly

Fuel quality/processing study. Volume 4: On site processing studies

Fuel treated at the turbine and the turbine exhaust gas processed at the turbine site are studied. Fuel treatments protect the turbine from contaminants or impurities either in the upgrading fuel as produced or picked up by the fuel during normal transportation. Exhaust gas treatments provide for the reduction of NOx and SOx to environmentally acceptable levels. The impact of fuel quality upon turbine maintenance and deterioration is considered. On site costs include not only the fuel treatment costs as such, but also incremental costs incurred by the turbine operator if a turbine fuel of low quality is not acceptably upgraded
