Developing the PC PMOS, a Primary-Care Patient Measure Of Safety
There is been an increasing awareness by health care providers, organisations and policy
advisors that patient safety and quality is an important issue, since primary care is the first
point of contact with the healthcare system for most patients. Patient safety is generally not
considered to be a problem in primary care but there is evidence that this is not the case.
Patient safety incidents have been predicted to occur from 2% [1] to 10% [2] of
consultations. The majority of errors in primary care fall within the categories of medication
errors [3], diagnostic errors [4] and communication errors [5]. Getting patient opinions is one
approach to address these errors as evidence suggests that patients are able to identify
potential primary-care errors [6–8]. Patients have a different perspective on safety and
patient harm, and can provide insights to prevent errors [9, 10] as well as identify factors
contributing to patient safety incidents [8, 11].
A questionnaire, the Patient Measure Of Safety (PMOS), has been developed to collect
patient feedback on the factors contributing to safety incidents in secondary care [11, 12].
This was based around the Yorkshire Contributing Factors Framework [13] that identified 20
factors contributing to safety incidents. In primary care, however, patient feedback tends to
focus on experience and satisfaction [14], or on after-event reporting and incident disclosure
[15]. Patient-safety questionnaires for primary care do exist [16, 17] but no questionnaire
has been explicitly developed that comprehensively measures factors contributing to patient
safety-incidents.
Health-care professionals in primary care could use patient feedback to improve safety in
the same way health professionals do in hospital settings. Therefore, the principle aim of
this study was to adapt the PMOS into a primary-care patient measure of safety (PC PMOS)
questionnaire to be used as a basis for proactively managing safety and service
improvement in the primary-care setting; and test the PC PMOS in regional general

BMS Modules in Three Dimensions
We build unitary representations of the BMS algebra and its higher-spin
extensions in three dimensions, using induced representations as a guide. Our
prescription naturally emerges from an ultrarelativistic limit of
highest-weight representations of Virasoro and W algebras, which is to be
contrasted with non-relativistic limits that typically give non-unitary
representations. To support this dichotomy, we also point out that the
ultrarelativistic and non-relativistic limits of generic W algebras differ in

Event structures for Petri nets with persistence
Event structures are a well-accepted model of concurrency. In a seminal paper by Nielsen, Plotkin and Winskel, they are used to establish a bridge between the theory of domains and the approach to concurrency proposed by Petri. A basic role is played by an unfolding construction that maps (safe) Petri nets into a subclass of event structures, called prime event structures, where each event has a uniquely determined set of causes. Prime event structures, in turn, can be identified with their domain of configurations. At a categorical level, this is nicely formalised by Winskel as a chain of coreflections. Contrary to prime event structures, general event structures allow for the presence of disjunctive causes, i.e., events can be enabled by distinct minimal sets of events. In this paper, we extend the connection between Petri nets and event structures in order to include disjunctive causes. In particular, we show that, at the level of nets, disjunctive causes are well accounted for by persistent places. These are places where tokens, once generated, can be used several times without being consumed and where multiple tokens are interpreted collectively, i.e., their histories are inessential. Generalising the work on ordinary nets, Petri nets with persistence are related to a new subclass of general event structures, called locally connected, by means of a chain of coreflections relying on an unfolding construction
Leaving the bush : why did they do it?
The demand for allied health professionals (AHPs) in rural areas is increasing due to changes in lifestyle, disease and disability of the population. Recruitment and retention of AHPs in rural Australia is an issue that continues to challenge policy makers. However, recent initiatives from the Commonwealth Government have focused on boosting the rural health workforce through grants that support education and training, expand health services and increase the number of rural and remote clinical placements. In addition to this funding, suggested restructure of the current allied health service delivery model is gaining much attention. Although this funding and organisational reform is much needed and welcomed, the changing nature of allied health work, increasing demand, and shortages across most rural areas highlight the need for research to address the complexities associated with recruitment and retention of these professionals.Gaining insight into the experiences of rural AHPs can assist with enhancing government funded recruitment and retention programs and developing sustainable and efficient workforce policies. This study hopes to build on our previous research that implies recruitment is enhanced when retention is optimal, since AHPs are willing to recommend their workplace. Therefore, the factors that influence retention are just as valid and important as the factors that influence recruitment, but many of the existing workforce models have solely focused on recruitment.4 Additionally, these models do not adequately address issues regarding rural employment, they are difficult to implement, and costly to sustain.In order to make policy recommendations on recruitment and retention in Australia, this paper aims to explore the experiences of AHPs who resigned from rural employment<br /
New records of Pristidactylus nigroiugulus Cei, Scolaro & Videla, 2001 (squamata: Leiosauridae) with a geographic distribution map
We provide new geographic records for Pristidactylus nigroiugulus Cei, Scolaro & Videla, 2001 from Argentina. We present the first record for Santa Cruz province and the southernmost records of the species based on lizards collected in the austral summers of 2012/2013 and 2013/2014. Based on a museum specimen, we extend the species distribution to the eastern part of the Somuncurá Plateau. An updated distributional map is included.Fil: Avila, Luciano Javier. Activation of iNKT Cells Prevents Salmonella-Enterocolitis and Salmonella-Induced Reactive Arthritis by Downregulating IL-17-Producing γδT Cells
Reactive arthritis (ReA) is an inflammatory condition of the joints that arises following an infection. Salmonella enterocolitis is one of the most common infections leading to ReA. Although the pathogenesis remains unclear, it is known that IL-17 plays a pivotal role in the development of ReA. IL-17-producers cells are mainly Th17, iNKT, and γδT lymphocytes. It is known that iNKT cells regulate the development of Th17 lineage. Whether iNKT cells also regulate γδT lymphocytes differentiation is unknown. We found that iNKT cells play a protective role in ReA. BALB/c Jα18−/− mice suffered a severe Salmonella enterocolitis, a 3.5-fold increase in IL-17 expression and aggravated inflammation of the synovial membrane. On the other hand, activation of iNKT cells with α-GalCer abrogated IL-17 response to Salmonella enterocolitis and prevented intestinal and joint tissue damage. Moreover, the anti-inflammatory effect of α-GalCer was related to a drop in the proportion of IL-17-producing γδT lymphocytes (IL17-γδTcells) rather than to a decrease in Th17 cells. In summary, we here show that iNKT cells play a protective role against Salmonella-enterocolitis and Salmonella-induced ReA by downregulating IL17-γδTcells.Fil: Noto Llana, Mariangeles.
