The Appropriateness Of Parental Involvement In The Job Search Process
This paper explores millennial job seekers and their parental involvement in the job search process. Preliminary work on a scale to measure the “appropriateness” of certain job search behaviors is reported. Ten parental job search behaviors are identified. The appropriateness constructs of “mentoring” and “meddling” are developed and empirically tested. Results indicate that both meddling and mentoring are valid and initially useful constructs in examining the suitability of parental involvement in the job search process. The possible impact of parental involvement in the job search process is then discussed along with possible managerial responses
Voices beyond the moment: occupational therapy students' attitudes to and experiences of personal profiling in the context of early professional development
Personal profiling is a dynamic learning process designed to enable individuals to identify their strengths, needs and aspirations in order to set strategic and behavioural goals. This single-site case study seeks to explore undergraduate occupational therapy students' attitudes and experiences of the process of personal profiling in the context of early professional development. The profiling system aims to support students through the process of integrating their University-based and practice-based learning experiences for personal and professional development.
The investigation was carried out in two phases, a pilot study and main study, using an inclusive approach for inquiry. From the initial research question several sub-themes emerged during the pilot study which informed the overarching design of the main study. Students' attitudes towards the existing system were examined using a cohort study approach which employed a survey design of quantitative and qualitative data-gathering questionnaires. Attitudes and experiences of students were further explored through semi-structured interviews. A cross-sectional approach which included a sample of students from each year was adopted. In addition questionnaire data was collected from tutors and practice educators who play a significant role in students' professional education.
Findings indicate students generally appear to have a positive attitude to personal profiling. The value is experienced at varying psychological levels, depending on students' willingness, motivation to engage with the process and psychological preparedness. A model of levels of engagement in profiling is proposed. Students' report the process of profiling was a challenging, psychologically messy and uncertain process yet worthwhile in the overall pursuit of professional development. Tutors perceived it as an enabling process in the students' learning.
The conclusion drawn is that students have the intellectual capability and potential to benefit from personal profiling. Students appear to self-consciously recognise, articulate and acknowledge the value of personal profiling in facilitating early professional development

This document provides a detailed discussion and a guide for the use of the RadCat 6.0 Graphical User Interface input file generator for the RADTRAN code, Version 6. RadCat 6.0 integrates the newest analysis capabilities of RADTRAN 6.0, including an economic model, updated loss-of-lead shielding model, a new ingestion dose model, and unit conversion. As of this writing, the RADTRAN version in use is RADTRAN 6.02
Accessing unexplored regions of sequence space in directed enzyme evolution via insertion/deletion mutagenesis
Abstract: Insertions and deletions (InDels) are frequently observed in natural protein evolution, yet their potential remains untapped in laboratory evolution. Here we introduce a transposon-based mutagenesis approach (TRIAD) to generate libraries of random variants with short in-frame InDels, and screen TRIAD libraries to evolve a promiscuous arylesterase activity in a phosphotriesterase. The evolution exhibits features that differ from previous point mutagenesis campaigns: while the average activity of TRIAD variants is more compromised, a larger proportion has successfully adapted for the activity. Different functional profiles emerge: (i) both strong and weak trade-off between activities are observed; (ii) trade-off is more severe (20- to 35-fold increased kcat/KM in arylesterase with 60-400-fold decreases in phosphotriesterase activity) and (iii) improvements are present in kcat rather than just in KM, suggesting adaptive solutions. These distinct features make TRIAD an alternative to widely used point mutagenesis, accessing functional innovations and traversing unexplored fitness landscape regions

SCDAP/RELAP5 independent peer review
The SCDAP/RELAP5 code has been developed for best-estimate transient simulation of light-water-reactor coolant systems during severe accidents. The newest version of the code is SCDAP/RELAP5/MOD3. The US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) decided that there was a need for a broad technical review of the code by recognized experts to determine overall technical adequacy, even though the code is still under development. For this purpose, an eight-member SCDAP/RELAP5 Peer Review Committee was organized, and the outcome of the review should help the NRC prioritize future code-development activity. Because the code is designed to be mechanistic, the Committee used a higher standard for technical adequacy than was employed in the peer review of the parametric MELCOR code. The Committee completed its review of the SCDAP/RELAP5 code, and the findings are documented in this report. Based on these findings, recommendations in five areas are provided: (1) phenomenological models, (2) code-design objectives, (3) code-targeted applications, (4) other findings, and (5) additional recommendations
