The objective in this research: (1) Determine a better learning model to improve learning outcomes physics students among learning model Inquiry Training based multimedia and Inquiry Training learning model. (2) Determine the level of motivation to learn in affects physics student learning outcomes. (3) Knowing the interactions between the model of learning and motivation in influencing student learning outcomes. This research is a quasi experimental. The population in this research was all students in class XI SMA Negeri 1 T.P Sunggal Semester I 2012/2013. The sample of this research was consisted of two classes with a sample of 70 peoples who are determined by purposive sampling, the IPA XI-2 as a class experiment using a model-based multimedia learning Training Inquiry as many as 35 peoples and XI IPA-3 as a control class using learning model Inquiry Training 35 peoples. Hypotheses were analyzed using the GLM at significant level of 0.05 using SPSS 17.0 for Windows. Based on data analysis and hypothesis testing conducted found that: (1) Training Inquiry-based multimedia learning model in improving student learning outcomes rather than learning model physics Inquiry Training. (2) The results of studying physics students who have high motivation to learn better than students who have a low learning motivation. (3) From this research there was an interaction between learning model inquiry-based multimedia training and motivation to study on learning outcomes of students

The study of the implementation studies of extension and women\u27s participation in Agricultural Crops Activity in Sukadamai Village, District Dramaga, Bogor Regency aimed to analyze the level of women participation in agricultural crops activity; to analyze the level of women participation in agricultural crops extension activities; to identify the institusional of agricultural extension; to analyze the influence factor in the ability of the extension worker to improve women\u27s participation in agricultural crops extension activities. Sampling was done randomly respondents. Number of study sample as many as 30 people. Primary data obtained through the use of closed questionnaires, interviews with the use of an open questionnaire, focus group discussion (FGD), and observations. Stages of data analysis is divided into stages of data description and hypothesis testing phase. Results showed that the women participation in agricultural crops extension activities in high category is 53,3%; the women participation in agricultural extension activities in the low category is 50%; the existence of agricultural extension workers is recognized by women are civil servants extension workers and independent extension workers; the method of agricultural extension and the attidude of extension workers affect significantly (p < 0,05) to women\u27s participation in agricultural extension activities

This research aimed at knowing kinds of plants that were utilized by the society of Desa Beringin Kecamatan Sajad Kabupaten Sambas and how to process the plants. The researcher created a learning medium, which was a documentary, as the implementation of the result of ethnobotany research. The form of this research was qualitative with descriptive as the method and purposive sampling as the technique of sampling. The data were collected by using interview, observation, and documentation with 30 informants. The finding revealed that there were 127 species of plants that could be utilized in daily life including 44 species used as food ingredients, 7 species used as construction materials, 6 species used as dyes, 6 species used as natural cosmetics, 9 species used as craft materials, 16 species used as culture materials, and 67 species used as herbs. The result of the research was implemented into a medium, which was a documentary. Based on the validation assessment, the documentary was categorized as valid with the score 3.43 and acceptable to be used as a learning medium for the benefit of biodiversity sub material

Computation of Neutron Star Structure Using Modern Equation of State

Using the modern equations of state derived from microscopic calculations, we have calculated the neutron star structure. For the neutron star, we have obtained a minimum mass about 0.1M⊙0.1 {\rm M_{\odot}} which is nearly independent of the equation of state, and a maximum mass between 1.47M⊙1.47 {\rm M_{\odot}} and 1.98M⊙1.98 {\rm M_{\odot}} which is strongly dependent on the equation of state. It is shown that among the equations of state of neutron star matter which we have used, the stiffest one leads to higher maximum mass and radius and lower central density. It is seen that the given maximum mass for the Reid-93 equation of state shows a good consistency with the accurate observations of radio pulsars. We have indicated that the thickness of neutron star crust is very small compared to the predicted neutron star radius.Comment: 16 pages, 6 figure

The effects of surface compliance on greyhound galloping dynamics

© IMechE 2019. Greyhounds are the fastest breed of dog and can reach a speed up to 68 km/h. These racing animals sustain unique injuries seldom seen in other breeds of dog. The highest rate of life-threatening injuries in these dogs is hock fracture, mostly of the right hind-leg. One of the main injury contributing factors in this sport is the track surface. There are some studies into the ideal track surface composition for greyhound racing but almost no study has investigated the body–surface interaction. Accordingly, the purpose of this work is to study the effect of surface compliance on the galloping dynamics of greyhounds during the hind-leg single-support phase which is a critical phase in hock injuries. Thus, a three degrees-of-freedom model for the greyhound body and substrate surface is designed using spring-loaded inverted pendulum method. The results showed that forces acting on the hind-leg were substantially affected when the surface compliance altered from the relatively hard (natural grass) to a relatively soft surface (synthetic rubber). The main contribution of this work is designing a mathematical model to predict the dynamics of the hock and the hind-leg as the most vulnerable body parts in greyhounds. Furthermore, this model can be used to optimise the greyhound track surface composition and therefore improve the safety and welfare within the greyhound racing industry
