    Penguatan Peran Posbindu Dalam Edukasi Lansia Sehat Di Satu Wilayah Kelurahan Kabupaten Bandung

    The increasing number of elderly population, especially in West Java, indicates the level of community welfare. But on the other hand, the risk factors for Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) are increasing in the elderly, even during this pandemic, the elderly are the most susceptible to infection. The mortality rate for elderly people infected with Covid-19 is higher than young people because it is more likely to develop into a more severe disease. So that educational efforts are needed for the elderly to maintain health, especially during this pandemic, so that NCD is well controlled and prevents transmission of Covid-19 in these elderly. This activity aims to create a model for strengthening the role of Posbindu in Bandung regency in monitoring the health of the elderly. Activities are carried out using offline and online methods in providing education on health protocols and counseling on Non-Communicable Diseases monitoring. This activity was attended by elderly men and women as an initial activity during the pandemic. The activity was successfully carried out as a trigger to train Posbindu administrators in basic health examination skills for the elderly and was followed by the elderly in socializing health protocols for the prevention of Covid19.Meningkatnya jumlah populasi lansia khususnya di Jawa Barat menandakan tingkat kesejahteraan masyarakat. Namun di sisi lain faktor resiko Penyakit Tidak Menular (PTM) semakin meningkat pada lansia, bahkan di masa pandemik ini, lansia menjadi populasi yang paling rentan tertular. Angka kematian lansia yang terinfeksi Covid-19 lebih tinggi dibandingkan usia muda karena lebih memungkinkan berkembang menjadi penyakit yang lebih parah. Sehingga diperlukan upaya edukasi kepada lansia untuk menjaga kesehatan khususnya di masa pandemik ini agar terkontrol baik PTM dan terhindar penyakit menular Covid-19 ini. kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk membuat model penguatan peran posbindu di RW kelurahan Sukamenak dalam memantau kesehatan lansia. Kegiatan dilaksanakan dengan metode luring dan daring dalam memberikan edukasi protokol kesehatan dan penyuluhan pemantauan Penyakit Tidak Menular. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh lansia laki-laki dan perempuan di wilayah Posbindu RW14, sebagai kegiatan awal di masa pandemik. Kegiatan berhasil dilaksanakan sebagai stimulus untuk melatih kader pengurus Posbindu dalam keterampilan pemeriksaan kesehatan dasar pada lansia dan diikuti oleh lansia dalam kegiatan sosialisasi protokol kesehatan pencegahan Covid19

    Barat bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis-jenis tumbuhan yang berkhasiat sebagai obat tradisional,  bagian tumbuhan yang dapat digunakan sebagai bahan dalam pengolahan obat tradisional, cara menyiapkan, dosis yang digunakan dan cara menggunakan dalam pengobatan tradisional. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah survei eksploratif dan metode observatif, melalui wawancara semi-struktural dengan 81 responden menggunakan kuesioner yang meliputi nama penyakit, nama lokal tanaman, bagian tanaman yang dimanfaatkan, lokasi tumbuh dan cara membuatnya. Setiap tanaman yang digunakan untuk pengobatan dideterminasi dan dibuat herbarium. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan  tanaman obat yang dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat dan berhasil dideterminasi di Kecamatan Dawuan terdapat 40 spesies tanaman obat dari  27 famili. Famili Euforbiaceae merupakan  tanaman yang paling banyak digunakan, dengan tingkat pengetahuan masyarakat tentang pemanfaatan obat sangat baik.     Zebrafish (Danio rerio) yang sebelumnya disebut Brachydanio rerio merupakan spesies ikan air tawar tropis yang berukuran kecil yang berasal dari Asia Selatan dan Sungai Gangga di India. Zebrafish bisa diaplikasikan pada model obesitas dan diabetes melitus tipe 2 (DMT2). Obesitas merupakan pemicu terjadinya DMT2. Tujuan dari review artikel ini dapat memberikan informasi dan meningkatkan pemahaman pembaca bahwa zebrafish merupakan model yang ideal untuk obesitas dan DMT2. Metode penulisan review artikel ini dilakukan dengan penelusuran artikel ilmiah terpublikasi bertaraf nasional dan internasional dengan menggunakan kata kunci berupa “Obesity, zebrafish, model”, “Hyperglycemia, zebrafish, model” atau “zebrafish for hyperglycemia” dan “Diabetes melitus type 2, zebrafish, model”. Zebrafish model obesitas dan DMT2 yang diinduksi makanan dan obat menunjukkan keunggulan menjadi obesitas seperti pada manusia dan mamalia lain. Selain itu, zebrafish yang diinduksi dengan metode perendaman glukosa diperoleh hasil meningkatnya kadar glukosa darah dan gangguan respon terhadap insulin eksogen. Pemberian alternatif terapi dari bahan alam seperti GTE, palmaria mollis, diosgenin, bubuk kayu manis pada zebrafish memberikan hasil yang cukup baik sehingga bisa dipertimbangkan sebagai alternatif model hewan lain

    ANTIHYPERTENSIVE ACTIVITY ETHANOLIC EXTRACT OF BULB ELEUTHERINE AMERICANA MERR ON FRUCTOSE-INDUCED HYPERTENSION RATS

    Objective: This study aimed to evaluate ethanolic extract of bulb of Eleutherine americana Merr as antihypertensive.Methods: This study examined the effect of ethanol extract of bulb of Eleutherine americana Merr on urine volume, blood pressure, and electrocardiogram (ECG) profile. Diuretic activity was evaluated by the Lipschitz method. Furosemide (3.6 mg/kg) used as standard drug. Animal rats model of hypertension were induced by fructose 66% in the diet for 21 d. Captopril (2.5 mg/kg) used as standard antihypertension. Parameters measured were urine volume for 24 h, systolic and diastolic blood pressure, and electrocardiogram profile.Results: High fructose diet for 21 d reduced R-R, P-R interval of the electrocardiogram, increased systolic and diastolic blood pressure and heart rate compared to normal group statistically significant (p<0.05). Animals received an ethanolic extract of the bulb of Eleutherine americana Merr doses of 25, 50, 100 mg/kg showed lowered systolic and lowered diastolic blood pressure (except for a dose of 100 mg/kg). Dose of 25, 50 mg/kg lowered systolic blood pressure was comparable to captopril 2.5 mg/kg (p>0.05). The group received a dose of 100 mg/kg showed diuretic activity comparable to furosemide 3.6 mg/kg (p>0.05). The group received a dose of 25, 50, 100 mg/kg, showed improved on R-R, P-R interval of the electrocardiogram, and heart rate.Conclusion: It can be concluded that ethanolic extract of bulb Eleutherine americana Merr play important role in regulating blood pressure, increased urine volume and improved electrocardiogram profile

    POTENTIAL ALPHA GLUCOSIDASE INHIBITOR FROM SELECTED ZINGIBERACEAE FAMILY

    ABSTRACTObjective: This study aimed to evaluate Zingiberaceae family as potential sources of alpha-glucosidase inhibitors (AGIs).Methods: A 16 species of selected Zingiberaceae family were macerated by ethanol 96%. The extracts were filtered and concentrated by rotaryevaporator. Phytochemical analysis carried out on the dry extract. AGI was assayed in 50 mM phosphate buffer at pH 6.8 with 5 mM p-nitrophenyl-αD-glucopyranosideasthe substrate.Alpha-glucosidaseactivitywasdeterminedbymeasuring the releaseof the yellowp-nitrophenolat 400nmusingaspectrophotometerUV-Vis,and the percentageof inhibition wascalculated.Results and Conclusion: The Zingiberaceae family showed IC against alpha-glucosidase varies range from 28.4 µg/ml to 269.2 µg/ml. Curcumalonga L., Zingiber cassumunar Roxb., Curcuma heyneana Val. Et van zijp, Curcuma xanthorrhiza Roxb., Zingiber ottensii Val., showed the highestinhibition against alpha-glucosidase, with IC50 5028.4, 49.0, 78.2, 78.9, and 79.0 µg/ml, respectively.     Subcrhonic Toxicity of Curcuma longa (Tumeric) Rhizoma Extract on Rats

    Toxicity is a condition that indicates a harmful effect contained in a substance such as turmeric, which is an effective traditional medicinal plant used for antihypertensive treatment. Therefore, this study aims to determine the effect of repeated dosing of turmeric (Curcuma longa L.) rhizome extract. This subchronic toxicity study was divided into 4 groups, namely 1 normal treated with 0.5% Na-CMC, and 3 treatments with turmeric extract at doses of 50, 100, and 200 mg/kg BW for 28 days with each group consisting of 5 males and 5 female Wistar rats. The results showed that the turmeric extract at doses of 50, 100, and 200 mg/kg BW did not cause toxicity to liver and kidney biochemistry nor contain any toxic substances that might cause anemia or other abnormalities. Furthermore, histopathological examination showed that the tissues were normal. This indicates that the turmeric rhizome extract at all dose variations indicate non-toxic when used in traditional medicine
