Role of structure of the Pp/magnetite nanocomposites on their thermal properties

    Get PDF
The thermal degradation behaviour of polypropylene and its magnetite composites have been investigated by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). Distribution of magnetite nanoparticles in a polymer matrix has been studied by scanning and transmission electron microscopy and also atomic force microscopy. The thermal and mechanical properties of nanocomposites based on polypropylene and magnetite nanoparticles have also been investigated. It has shown that, the introduction of Fe3O4 nanoparticles in polypropylene increases its thermal stability of about 1000C. The maximum increase in the thermal stability of PP was observed in the case of a 20% weight content of Fe3O4 nanoparticles in polypropylene

"The Greek world" in the perception of Latin intellectuals

    Get PDF
The article examines the problem of the perception of "the Greek world" by the Latin intellectuals of the V and the beginning of the VI century AD, i.e. in the period of time when political, cultural and somewhat religious dissociation between the Western and Eastern parts of the Roman Empire became visible. The hermeneutic analysis of narrative, epistolary and didactic works written in the Latin West in V–VI centuries has been carried out in the article. The «system codes» through which Latin intellectuals perceived both their own and the Greek world have been reconstructed by the identification of the tropes, metaphors and similes. It has been concluded that the Greek world had been still taking on a role of the creator and preserver of high culture, a kind of indicator of the cultural achievements of the West in the minds of Latin authors of the V–VI century. At the same time the Latin authors’ desire to establish their own self-sufficiency and even cultural superiority in the competition with the Greeks was quite obvious. The article shows that belonging to the Greek civilization served as an identifying feature of noble Roman's which also forced the representatives of German elite to strive for both the Roman and the Greek education in their ambition to legitimize their authority among the Italian population.peer-reviewe

Dissymmetrization of crystals: Theory and experiment

    Get PDF
The distribution of Cu2+ impurities in ZnSeO4·6H2O and Na2Cd(SO4)2·2H2O crystals was investigated by electron paramagnetic resonance. The tangential selectivity by sectors in pyramid growth was revealed. Dissymmetrization, i.e., decrease of point group symmetry, is explained by tangential selectivity occupying impurities and formation defects. An analysis by group theory is presented to explain dissymmetrization of crystals. The connection between the distribution of point defects in a crystal and the growth process is discussed. © 1980 Springer-Verlag

EPR of Gd3+ in Na2Cd(SO4) 22H2O, comparison with previous results obtained for Fe3+

    Get PDF
An EPR experiment on Gd3+ in a single crystal of Na 2Cd(SO4)22H2O (CdK) was carried out at Q band frequency and nitrogen temperature. Two spectra related by symmetry were observed. All spin Hamiltonian constants have been calculated. The pseudosymmetries of the fourth-order term of the spin Hamiltonian are compared to those of Fe3+. It is observed that the substitution of Gd 3+ for Cd2+ induced a very important local distortion of the host lattice, which is discussed. © 1985 American Institute of Physics

Local environment of Gd3+ in MgF2

The electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) of Gd3+ in MgF2 reveals that Gd3+ has two different environments in the lattice. One of them has D2h symmetry, the EPR spectrum is characterized by a large zero field splitting [B2 0= 968.10-4 cm-1; B2 2= 357.10-4 cm-1] and the fourth order term of the spin Hamiltonian is axial; it is assumed that one Gd3+ substitutes two Mg2+. The other Gd3+ center has only monoclinic symmetry. From the analysis of the fourth order term of the spin Hamiltonian of the corresponding spectrum it is seen that one Gd3+ substitutes one Mg2+ and that this substitution produces a large local distortion of the lattice. © 1990 Springer-Verlag

Study of the environment of Fe3+ in Na2Cd(SO 4)2 2H2O by EPR

An EPR experiment on Fe3+ in a single crystal of Na 2Cd(SO4)2 2H2O was carried out at Q band frequency and nitrogen temperature. The angular dependencies of the spectra were studied in the three crystallographic planes. In order to have a very precise orientation of the crystal, the experiment was done with a twinned crystal (superposition of two spectra in all three planes). The zero-field splitting of Fe3+ is of the same order of magnitude as the quantum hv, so that many ΔM=2 transitions were observed. All spin-Hamiltonian parameters (20) were calculated using observed ΔM=1 and ΔM=2 transitions for 30 different orientations of the magnetic field. The pseudosymmetries of the fourth-order term of the spin Hamiltonian of Fe 3+ are compared to those we calculated using the superposition model. It is seen that Fe3+ is substituted for Cd2+ and that the orientation of the ocatahedral environment of Fe3+ does not differ much in orientation from that of Cd2+. Differences between the distortions of the Cd-O6 and Fe-O6 octahedra are discussed. © 1985 American Institute of Physics

Aim: to study gene enzyme polymorphism of xenobiotic detoxification in patients suffered from HFRS influenced by disease severityProceedings : Molecular genetic checkup has been done in 292 patients suffered from HFRS and 426 seronegative donors.DNA samples isolated from lymphocytes of peripheral gene enzyme were used for molecular genetic checkup. Phenic-chloroform extraction method was applied to isolate DNA. The given DNA was used for polymerase chain reaction of DNA synthesis. Polymorphous CYP1A1 and GSTP1 gene locus analysis was performed on an automatic basis by polymerase chain reaction of DNA synthesis in a thermal cycle «Terzik» produced «DNK–techologiya» ( Moscow city) with the use of locus specific and oligonucleotide primers.Outcomings: Glutathion-S-transferase class π with A313G locus of AG heterozygous genotype is typical for people of Bashkortostan due to underlying risk for HFRS. A combination of genotypes in the form of cytochrome P-450A1 with polymorphous locus A2455G and glutathione-S-transferase class π with A313G locus of AG can be found only in case of severe form of HFRS.

The article presents the results of the research of CD3/CD28-induced production of interleukin-2 by blood lymphocytes in vitro as well as subpopulation composition of peripheral blood T-lymphocytes in patients with drug-sensitive and drug-resistant pulmonary tuberculosis. We detected the decrease in the total amount of CD3-positive cells and suppression of IL-2- secretion during CD3/CD28-induction of lymphocytes, which was most expressed in a disseminated form of drug-resistant TB. We also demonstrated the reduction in the percentage value of CD3+CD28+IL-2+ and CD3+CD28+IL-2- cells in patients with pulmonary TB against the background of the increase in the percentage value of CD3+CD28-IL-2-. Besides, it was also shown that the detected changes are unidirectional, don't depend on a clinical form of TB and are maximally manifested in patients with a drug resistant variant of the TB process
