The implemented system still has limited integration and interoperability for supporting clinical operations among other Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOHM) hospitals, health centres, and clinics. The adoption of EHR system is happening very slowly to become fully integrated in both primary care and within hospital settings. Therefore, the objectives of this paper are to discuss about the challenges in EHR integration and the consideration towards metadata standardization. It is also to analyse the current status of such research topics in it relevancy, the dominant countries involve and the subject areas that contributed the most. Method being used in this is paper is literature review analysis and Scopus analyse tools. This papers begin with the explanation of general metadata that is required in system integration. Then the discussion highlighted the importance of metadata in electronic document management. Furthermore, the discussion reveals the challenges or barriers includes interoperability, security and privacy and preservation regarding electronic health records system integration. The important part of this paper is the analysis of related research. It is important in recognizing the relevancy of research topic and the area that has been explored by previous researchers. The findings conclude that the topics is demanded to be explore further and there is more to reveals especially in the management areas

A Semantic Ontology-Based Records Management Approach for Academic Users’ Decision Support

    No full text
Within the field of information systems development, enterprise records management (ERM) technologies have largely failed to meet industry‟s demands, especially for context-sensitive records management and document preservation. Electronic document and record management systems (EDRMS), as an enterprise records management tool, have become well-recognised applications for academic users in higher education institutes. The systems often show limited decision support options for academic users such as educators and students, resulting in a lack of coordination and duplication of academic efforts. For sustainable records management, it is beneficial to have a more context-specific and systematic EDRMS for an individual‟s effective decision-making. This study intends to make two distinct contributions in the following ways: Firstly, the study outlines a four-phased approach adapting the step-by-step process to conduct the empirical investigation through case study data collection and analysis in order to create a new ontology-based records management approach. Secondly, the study proposes a new architecture of the domain ontology-based ERM approach that satisfies user requirements and promotes the value of using it to meet organisational standards

This study explores Malaysian secondary school teachers' challenges in integrating digital information literacy (DIL) into their teaching. The research focuses on Design and Technology (RBT), highlighting the need for students to navigate the digital information landscape. The study uses a qualitative phenomenological study and thematic analysis by Atlas.ti v23 to identify challenges in teaching ICT-based projects. The research suggests that innovative teaching methodologies, stakeholder collaboration, and a culture of adaptability are crucial for empowering teachers to cultivate DIL in students, enabling them to navigate the digital era confidently and competently

This paper evaluates the readiness of Malaysian academic university libraries towards Library 4.0. The rise of this new intervention of Web 4.0 and Library 4.0 are being deliberated among librarians for future services. Information technology facilities have been identified and analysed which may comprehend the use of libraries for the next generation. This will also help to move the library forward and improve the overall performance of university libraries respectively. The methodology used for this study is qualitative. This qualitative study was piloted among librarians working in the selected academic university libraries. This study gives an outline of the readiness among the selected academic university libraries towards Library 4.0</p
