Kinematics of Metal-Poor Stars in the Galaxy. II. Proper Motions for a Large Non-Kinematically Selected Sample
We present a revised catalog of 2106 Galactic stars, selected without
kinematic bias, and with available radial velocities, distance estimates, and
metal abundances in the range 0.0 <= [Fe/H] <= -4.0. This update of the Beers
and Sommer-Larsen (1995) catalog includes newly-derived homogeneous photometric
distance estimates, revised radial velocities for a number of stars with
recently obtained high-resolution spectra, and refined metallicities for stars
originally identified in the HK objective-prism survey (which account for
nearly half of the catalog) based on a recent re-calibration. A subset of 1258
stars in this catalog have available proper motions, based on measurements
obtained with the Hipparcos astrometry satellite, or taken from the updated
Astrographic Catalogue (AC 2000; second epoch positions from either the Hubble
Space Telescope Guide Star Catalog or the Tycho Catalogue), the Yale/San Juan
Southern Proper Motion (SPM) Catalog 2.0, and the Lick Northern Proper Motion
(NPM1) Catalog. Our present catalog includes 388 RR Lyrae variables (182 of
which are newly added), 38 variables of other types, and 1680 non-variables,

What are the most effective exercise, physical activity and dietary interventions to improve body composition in women diagnosed with or at high-risk of breast cancer? A systematic review and network meta-analysis
Background: Obesity has been recognized as a risk factor in the development and recurrence of breast cancer and is also associated with poor prognostic outcomes. This systematic review and network meta-analysis aimed to identify the most effective exercise, physical activity, and dietary interventions to reduce fat mass, body fat percentage and body weight as well as potentially increase lean mass in women diagnosed with or at high risk of breast cancer. Methods: A systematic search of databases was performed up to May 2022. Eligible randomized controlled trials examined the effects of exercise, physical activity and/or dietary interventions on fat mass and lean mass in women diagnosed with or at high risk of breast cancer. A random-effects network meta-analysis was conducted to determine the effects of different interventions across outcomes when sufficient studies were available. Results: Eighty-four studies (n = 6428) were included in this review. Caloric restriction and combined exercise + caloric restriction significantly reduced fat mass (range, –3.9 to –3.7 kg) and body weight (range, –5.3 to –4.7 kg), whereas physical activity + caloric restriction significantly reduced body fat percentage (–2.4%; 95% confidence interval [CI], –3.4% to –13%) and body mass index (–2.2 kg × m–2; 95% CI, –3.0 to –1.4 kg × m–2) in breast cancer patients. Resistance exercise was the most effective intervention to increase lean mass (0.7 kg; 95% CI, 0.5–1.0 kg) in breast cancer patients. Conclusion: Multimodal exercise and diet programs were the most effective interventions to reduce fat mass, body fat percentage, and body weight and increase and/or preserve lean mass
The Hubble Space Telescope Extragalactic Distance Scale Key Project. X. The Cepheid Distance to NGC 7331
The distance to NGC 7331 has been derived from Cepheid variables observed
with HST/WFPC2, as part of the Extragalactic Distance Scale Key Project.
Multi-epoch exposures in F555W (V) and F814W (I), with photometry derived
independently from DoPHOT and DAOPHOT/ALLFRAME programs, were used to detect a
total of 13 reliable Cepheids, with periods between 11 and 42 days. The
relative distance moduli between NGC 7331 and the LMC, imply an extinction to
NGC 7331 of A_V = 0.47+-0.15 mag, and an extinction-corrected distance modulus
to NGC 7331 of 30.89+-0.14(random) mag, equivalent to a distance of 15.1 Mpc.
There are additional systematic uncertainties in the distance modulus of +-0.12
mag due to the calibration of the Cepheid Period-Luminosity relation, and a
systematic offset of +0.05+-0.04 mag if we applied the metallicity correction

SDSS Standard Star Catalog for Stripe 82: the Dawn of Industrial 1% Optical Photometry
We describe a standard star catalog constructed using multiple SDSS
photometric observations (at least four per band, with a median of ten) in the
system. The catalog includes 1.01 million non-variable unresolved
objects from the equatorial stripe 82 ( 1.266) in
the RA range 20h 34m to 4h 00m, and with the corresponding band
(approximately Johnson V band) magnitudes in the range 14--22. The
distributions of measurements for individual sources demonstrate that the
photometric pipeline correctly estimates random photometric errors, which are
below 0.01 mag for stars brighter than (19.5, 20.5, 20.5, 20, 18.5) in ,
respectively (about twice as good as for individual SDSS runs). Several
independent tests of the internal consistency suggest that the spatial
variation of photometric zeropoints is not larger than 0.01 mag (rms). In
addition to being the largest available dataset with optical photometry
internally consistent at the 1% level, this catalog provides practical
definition of the SDSS photometric system. Using this catalog, we show that
photometric zeropoints for SDSS observing runs can be calibrated within nominal
uncertainty of 2% even for data obtained through 1 mag thick clouds, and
demonstrate the existence of He and H white dwarf sequences using photometric
data alone. Based on the properties of this catalog, we conclude that upcoming
large-scale optical surveys such as the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope will be

The Algorithm Theoretical Basis Document for the Derivation of Range and Range Distributions from Laser Pulse Waveform Analysis for Surface Elevations, Roughness, Slope, and Vegetation Heights
The primary purpose of the GLAS instrument is to detect ice elevation changes over time which are used to derive changes in ice volume. Other objectives include measuring sea ice freeboard, ocean and land surface elevation, surface roughness, and canopy heights over land. This Algorithm Theoretical Basis Document (ATBD) describes the theory and implementation behind the algorithms used to produce the level 1B products for waveform parameters and global elevation and the level 2 products that are specific to ice sheet, sea ice, land, and ocean elevations respectively. These output products, are defined in detail along with the associated quality, and the constraints, and assumptions used to derive them
Genome sequence of human papillomavirus type 20, strain HPV-20/Lancaster/2015
The genome sequence of human papillomavirus type 20 (HPV-20; family Papillomaviridae, genus Betapapillomavirus, species Betapapillomavirus 1, type 20) was assembled by deep sequencing from nasopharyngeal swabs. The assembled genome is 0.37% divergent over its full length from the single complete genome of HPV-20 in GenBank (U31778). We named the strain HPV-20/Lancaster/2015
The Hubble Space Telescope Extragalactic Distance Scale Key Project XXIII. The Discovery of Cepheids In NGC 3319
The distance to NGC 3319 has been determined from Cepheid variable stars as
part of the Hubble Space Telescope Key Project on the Extragalactic Distance
Scale. Thirteen and four epochs of observations, using filters F555W (V) and
F814W (I) respectively, were made with the Wide Field Planetary Camera 2.
Thirty-three Cepheid variables between periods of 8 and 47 days were
discovered. Adopting a Large Magellanic Cloud distance modulus of 18.50 +- 0.10
mag and extinction of E(V-I)=0.13 mag, a true reddening-corrected distance
modulus (based on an analysis employing the ALLFRAME software package) of 30.78
+- 0.14 (random) +- 0.10 (systematic) mag and the extinction of E(V-I) = 0.06
mag were determined for NGC 3319. This galaxy is the last galaxy observed for

The HST Key Project on the Extragalactic Distance Scale XVII. The Cepheid Distance to NGC 4725
The distance to NGC 4725 has been derived from Cepheid variables, as part of
the Hubble Space Telescope Key Project on the Extragalactic Distance Scale.
Thirteen F555W (V) and four F814W (I) epochs of cosmic-ray-split Wide Field and
Planetary Camera 2 observations were obtained. Twenty Cepheids were discovered,
with periods ranging from 12 to 49 days. Adopting a Large Magellanic Cloud
distance modulus and extinction of 18.50+/-0.10 mag and E(V-I)=0.13 mag,
respectively, a true reddening-corrected distance modulus (based on an analysis
employing the ALLFRAME software package) of 30.50 +/- 0.16 (random) +/- 0.17
(systematic) mag was determined for NGC 4725. The corresponding of distance of
12.6 +/- 1.0 (random) +/- 1.0 (systematic) Mpc is in excellent agreement with
that found with an independent analysis based upon the DoPHOT photometry
package. With a foreground reddening of only E(V-I)=0.02, the inferred
intrinsic reddening of this field in NGC 4725, E(V-I)=0.19, makes it one of the
