Interaction ramps in a trapped Bose condensate

Non-adiabatic interaction ramps are considered for trapped Bose-Einstein condensates. The deviation from adiabaticity is characterized through the heating or residual energy produced during the ramp. We find that the dependence of the heat on the ramp time is very sensitive to the ramp protocol. We explain features of this dependence through a single-parameter effective description based on the dynamics of the condensate size.Comment: 4 pages, 3 figure

The Importance of Marriagein the 19thCentury British England: Jane Austen’s Prideand Prejudice Represents Love and Marriage, which are not only the Embellishment of Life but the Economic Needs for the People

Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudicewas the novel of Victorian period. This Victorian era was the timeof traditions when many aspectshas emerged in the field of literature. As a writer of Victorian period Jane Austenwas very much successfulwith the work of romantic fictions.Pride and Prejudicehas been considered herfirst novel and the story of it was located in the country of Hertfordshire. The prominent family of this novel was known as the Bennet family. They used to live in a peaceful place called Longbourn. The main attraction of the Bennet family was centered around their daughters' marriage issue. In this novel the two main male characters were Mr. Bingley and his friend Darcy, and other characters did playsomevital role regarding the concepts of love and marriage. Surrounded by the wealthy handsome men, Mrs. Bennet was finding the possible match among those opulent persons for her daughters. At first glance Mr. Bingley has found his love towards Jane, while on the other hands Mr. Darcy proved to be the perfect match for Elizabeth. With these two wealthy and decent man, there was the presence of a villain like person named Mr. Wickham, who has settled himself finally with Lydia, the youngest girl of the Bennet family. The main female protagonist of this novel was Elizabeth. She was not a complicated character rather than funny and witty in nature. Her perfect match Mr. Darcy was different than her. He was snobbish, proud and reservedtype of character. They both were always sunk in teasing and quarrelling but somehow they were essentially attracted with each other. Elizabeth has confessed that she hate him and also said it frankly after knowing that Mr. Darcy will forgive her. With all those small and big incidents mixed with sadness and happiness, they both eventually got married and lived happily ever after. This paper will actually present the importance of love and marriage in human's life and how Jane Austen beautifully portrayed these themes of love and marriage which are not only the embellishment of life but also urged for the economical needs for the people through her famous novel Pride and Prejudice

Reactivity Initiated Transient Response of TRIGA with the Progress of Core Burnt

This paper illustrates the effects on safety of TRIGA Mark-II research reactor of Bangladesh at its different steps of core burnt during reactivity induced transient. The modeling and simulation were carried by coupled point kinetics, neutronics, and thermal hydraulics code EUREKA-2/RR based on neutronics data calculated previously by Monte Carlo code for different burnt states of TRIGA core. Three burn steps until 150 MWD have been considered for present analysis which are regarded here as beginning of cycle (BOC); middle of cycle, MOC (75 MWD); and end of cycle, EOC (150 MWD). Initially, the results of steady state analysis obtained from EUREKA code for these three burn steps have been verified with that of COOLOD code. Based on consistency of the results from the two codes, transient simulation has been conducted considering reactor with non-function of scram. Reactivity inserted amount ranges within 0.001 to 0.02 dk/k with three durations of insertions of 0.1s, 1s, and 5s. Major parameters such as reactor core maximum power and fuel clad maximum temperature have been reported. The analysis presents transient pattern of these parameters due to change in amount and duration of inserted reactivity. The maximum imposed reactivity that causes the fuel clad to exceed its design temperature at each burn step has been evaluated in this study. It is also observed here for each amount and durations of inserted reactivity, maximum value of both power and clad temperature found to decrease with the progress of core burnt. These results obtained from this analysis will be useful for reactor operators and management team during core upgrading and modification program

Deep network with score level fusion and inference-based transfer learning to recognize leaf blight and fruit rot diseases of eggplant

    Get PDF
Eggplant is a popular vegetable crop. Eggplant yields can be affected by various diseases. Automatic detection and recognition of diseases is an important step toward improving crop yields. In this paper, we used a two-stream deep fusion architecture, employing CNN-SVM and CNN-Softmax pipelines, along with an inference model to infer the disease classes. A dataset of 2284 images was sourced from primary (using a consumer RGB camera) and secondary sources (the internet). The dataset contained images of nine eggplant diseases. Experimental results show that the proposed method achieved better accuracy and lower false-positive results compared to other deep learning methods (such as VGG16, Inception V3, VGG 19, MobileNet, NasNetMobile, and ResNet50)

Toxicity induced by Solanapyrone A in Chickpea shoots and its metabolism through Glutathione/Glutathione-S-Transferase system

Solanapyrone A and C were isolated from a Pakistani isolate of Ascochyta rabiei, Pk-1. Two experiments were conducted to investigate the phytotoxic effects of the most potent toxin, solanapyrone A on chickpea cultivars and its subsequent detoxification through glutathion/glutathion-s-transferase(GST) system. When the shoots of cultivars were fed solanapyrone A, symptoms mimicking to Ascochyta blight appeared and extent of manifestation of symptoms varied with the cultivar. In the first experiment, the effect of three different plant ages of 2 cultivars with different levels of resistance to toxin was determined in terms of GST activity unit. GST activity in Balkasar-2000 (a resistant cultivar) increased 1.92 times, 1.72 and 1.65 times in two-week-old seedling, eight-week-old and adult plants (all treated) respectively as compared to their respective controls. In the highly susceptible cultivar, AUG-424, a slight increase (1.14 times) over control was noticed in GST activity at all the three ages. In the second experiment, where shoots of three cultivars were tested against 2 doses of the toxin, an increase in GST activity in Noor-91 (a moderately susceptible cultivar) and AUG-424 was significantly less than resistant cultivar, Balkasar-2000 showing direct relationship between resistance and activity of the enzyme. It may be concluded that it is a reason for difference in response of cultivars to the disease

Interaction induced fractional Bloch and tunneling oscillations

We study the dynamics of few interacting bosons in a one-dimensional lattice with dc bias. In the absence of interactions the system displays single particle Bloch oscillations. For strong interaction the Bloch oscillation regime reemerges with fractional Bloch periods which are inversely proportional to the number of bosons clustered into a bound state. The interaction strength is affecting the oscillation amplitude. Excellent agreement is found between numerical data and a composite particle dynamics approach. For specific values of the interaction strength a particle will tunnel from the interacting cloud to a well defined distant lattice location.Comment: 4 pages, 4 figure

Research Notes : Frequency of spectrum of visible mutations induced by gamma rays in soybean

Although mutation studies are very common in most of the crop plants, soybean (Glycine max [L.] Merrill.) has received comparatively little attention by the mutation breeders. In view of this, systematic mutation studies were started at Ranchi Agriculture College, Kanke. The present study reports the effect of ganma rays on the frequency and spectrum of visible mutations in soybean. Materials and methods: Seeds of a soybean variety Sepaya Black, brought to uniform moisture content, were irradiated with ganma rays at Fertilizer Corporation of India, Sindri, Dhanbad (Bihar) at a dose of 10 kr, 20 kr, 30 kr, and 40 kr
