    Get PDF
The pandemic caused by Covid-19 has encouraged significant changes in higher education. Training curricula at universities have been adjusted to adapt to the blended learning model for the past two years in Vietnam. This paper is a qualitative analysis of higher education policies during the Covid-19 pandemic. The authors have based on data collected from universities combined with interviewing experts to evaluate the effectiveness of policies applied in Vietnam. In addition, the paper also analyzes the difficulties that universities face in ensuring the quality of training and enrollment sources during a pandemic. Research results also show that Vietnam is facing fundamental challenges in higher education. The higher education system must build a foundation for reforming online training programs and innovating university governance. Finally, the paper also proposes strategic education policies in developing the higher education system to meet the requirements of the Fourth Industrial Revolution

Objective The commercialization or go-to-market process is one of the most important activities for any business. Companies are searching for methodologies and techniques to rapidly validate their concepts and at an early stage integrate market needs into their development process so that they can accelerate the go-to-market process of a new product. In order to create an effective tool to support companies, this research is conducted to study on how social media be used in developing and commercializing new products. Methodology The research used qualitative research method in which a mix of different types of data were collected. Multiple case study approach analyses various aspects of the commercialization processes and social media practices thus seeking for answers from the overview phenomena. Results and findings An integration framework generated from theory review helps companies to better understand their development process as well as practices that need to be carried out in certain phases of the process and to accelerate the innovation in entering a new market. The social media canvas was created and aimed to be a practical tool for company in conducting a workshop within the team and planning how to utilize social media in developing or commercializing a product

Organsing learners’ guided self-study in teaching Math in Vietnamese high schools

    Get PDF
In Vietnamese high schools, learning in general and self-study in particular plays a very important role in helping learners to deeply understand, expand, consolidate and memorise lessons profoundly thanks to the ability to self-analyze, synthesize and apply existing knowledge in solving new learning tasks. The article presents some issues on guided self-studying and the method to facilitate students with math instructions at high school. To organize the implementation of guided self-studying for students effectively, teachers are required to invest considerable time as well as flexibility in the design of instructional guides to help them access the question the fastest and most suitable way to their capabilities

Estimates for the elastic moduli of 2D aggregate of hexagonal-shape orthorhombic crystals with in-plane random crystalline orientations

    Get PDF
Numerical finite element simulations on the homogenization problem for large samples of particular 2D hexagonal-shape-geometry random orientation aggregates from the base crystals of orthorhombic symmetry have been performed. At sufficiently large random-aggregate samples, the scatter intervals of the macroscopic 2D bulk and shear elastic moduli converge toward the Voigt-Reuss-Hill bounds, and then our recently constructed theoretical estimates, which have been specified for the aggregates

Improved estimates for the effective elastic bulk modulus of random tetragonal crystal aggregates

    Get PDF
Particular expressions of upper and lower estimates for the macroscopic elastic bulk modulus of random cell tetragonal polycrystalline materials are derived and computed for a number of practical crystals. The cell-shape-unspecified bounds, based on minimum energy principles and generalized polarization trial fields, appear close to the simple bounds for specific spherical cell polycrystal

CEO duality, board size and firm performance : Evidence in Vietnam

    Get PDF
From the perspective of the agency and stewardship theories for explaining the relationship between corporate governance and firm performance, this study examines the impacts of CEO duality and board size on the firm performance. We assess the association between CEO duality, board size and firm performance of top 200 companies listed on the Vietnam Stock Exchange (VSE) over 2014–2015. Our findings show that: 1) CEO duality limits the monitoring function of the board, and a large board size promotes dominance and power of leaders that create more conflicts; 2) the number of executive directors in the top management positively influences firm performance. Findings of our study certainly help policymakers and other stakeholders understand the relationship between CEO duality, board size and firm performance. Overall, this study highlights the CEO duality and the relationship of board size and firm performance in a nation with less protection of minority shareholders

A Research on the Quality of Public Transportation Services by Bus in Vietnam

This study was conducted to assess the status of the quality of public passenger transport services by bus in Hanoi. Data were collected from regular passengers using buses as a means of transportation in the city, including passengers standing at stations, waiting shelters and on vehicles to make trips and students of some universities who use buses as a means of transportation. We employ descriptive statistics and hierarchical analysis to learn about the topic of research. The results indicate that the quality of public transport services by buses in Hanoi, which was judged by passengers quite well. In particular, the safety level, convenience, security and hygiene is up to 70%, which was higher than the highest quality level. Quality of fast level and reliability are low.
