Business Diversification and Financial Supply Chain Efficiency of Companies Listed on Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange
Abstract— This research evaluate the impact of business diversification of companies listed on HoSe from 2013 to 2017, the research has used balance panel data form of 145 listed enterprises. Business diversification is measured according to the Entropy index, measured by turnover in the Grade 2 subdivision and Level 4 subdivision according to Vietnam's industry standard. The results of the study showed that diversification would generally help improve financial efficiency, however, for those enterprises focusing on diversification outside the industry will reduce financial efficiency. In addition, the results of the study also showed that businesses increasing financial leverage for the purpose of expanding the left-sector business will be unstable, those businesses scaling up to strengthen the true diversification of businesses with experience will help increase their financial efficiency
Attitudes toward Self-Disclosure on Facebook: A Review of Perception, Emotion and Behavior in University Students
A number of social networking platforms have emerged as a result of the development of information and communication technology which have become increasingly user-friendly and full with valuable features. The social networking site with most users is Facebook. Teenagers, particularly college students use Facebook most frequently to study, gain information, entertain themselves and connect with others through self-disclosing personal information on the Facebook profile page. This quantitative study aimed to analyze the attitude of pedagogical students regarding self-disclosure on Facebook as represented through cognition, emotion and behavior concerning academic achievement. The survey was completed by 535university student’s majority in pedagogy. There were 41 students who used it for less than three years between three to five years by 218 students and 276 students who use it more than five years. The questionnaire was self-reported by participants to assess university students' attitudes toward self-disclosure on Facebook. The results indicate that pedagogical students with excellent academic achievement and more than five years of Facebook experience had the highest-level attitude toward self-disclosure on Facebook. The results indicate a positive relationship between cognition, emotion and influence factors students' Facebook attitudes. Future research on methods that enhance student positive disclosure can benefit from this study. Future research should examine how self-disclosure on Facebook relates to other aspects, such as Facebook usage time, financial state and perception of advantages and its disadvantages of Facebook in order to evaluate students' attitudes objectively
Self-injurious Behavior of Children with Autism in Vietnam: Across Sectional Study
This study explored self-injurious behaviour (SIB) of autistic children in Vietnam through a crosssectional
design. 60 informants, including 57 parents and 3 caregivers completed the questionnaire on
problem behaviour consisting of aggression, self-injury, stereotyping, property destruction, other
problem behaviours and their functions. Results revealed that children experienced all mentioned
problem behaviours, especially self-injurious behaviour. The topographies of self-injurious behaviour
of the children included head-hitting, head-scratching, head-banging, hair-pulling, face-hitting, facepuncturing
with a pen, ear-scratching, lip-picking, hand-biting, hand-scratching, hand-pinching, and
belly-scratching. The most common area of self-injurious behaviour is the head. The functions of these
problem behaviours were expressed in four types (social positive reinforcement, social negative
reinforcement, automatic positive reinforcement and automatic negative reinforcement). Social
positive reinforcement appeared as a prominent function. Out of these 57 children, 21 of them who
were autistic with self-injurious behaviour went through a functional behaviour assessment (FBA) in
which the four conditions known as attention, tangible items, escape from task/activities, automatic
stimulation were tested. The results of functional behaviour assessment (FBA) further indicated the
correspondence between the FAST-R and FBA outcome on function of problem behaviour, especially
self-injurious behaviour. The research concluded that the prominent function of these self-injurious
behaviours was social function. It means self-injurious behaviours usually occur within a condition of
social interaction, especially, in this present study, in the tangible condition. The antecedent of selfinjurious
behaviour is the removal of tangibles (e.g. food, preferred items). This paper contributes to
our knowledge of self-injurious behaviour of children with autism in Vietnam where empirical
research of this field was still very rare
Study on the antioxidant capacity of Hibiscus rosa-sinensis decoction in vivo in Mus musculus var. albino
This study proved that Hibiscus rosa-sinensis has the antioxidant activity and the ability to recover liver functions when it was coordinated with cyclophosphamide in mice mode
MODIFICATION OF GRAPHENE OXIDE BY CURCUMIN AND APPLICATION IN POLYURETHANE COATING
Curcumin modified graphene oxide (GO-CR) was prepared using adsorption method and polyurethane (PU) coating containing 0.3 wt% GO-CR was prepared on carbon steel. Synthesized GO-CR was characterized by fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and zeta potential measurement. Corrosion protection property of polyurethane coating containing GO-CR was evaluated and compared with blank polyurethane coating and coating containing GO by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The results showed that GO-CR has layer structure like GO with lower crystallinity. In GO-CR structure curcumin was attached on GO surface. The presence of curcumin on GO-CR surface provided corrosion inhibition action for PU coating and also improved the dispersion of GO in PU coating
Screening for actinomyces isolated from soil with the ability to inhibit Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae causing rice bacterial blight disease in Vietnam
Bacterial blight disease caused by Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae (Xoo) is one of the major diseases in rice culture of Northen Vietnam, as well as other rice-growing regions of the world. In this study, we isolated and screened for actinomycete strains from Vietnam with the ability to inhibit Xoo isolates from northern Vietnam. From 90 actinomycete strains taken from soil in northern Vietnam in 2010, we screened for their antagonistic activity against 10 races of Xoo causing rice bacterial blight disease. Three actinomycete strains were found to inhibit all 10 Xoo races. Among the three strains, a strain namely VN10-A-44 was shown not to have the ability to produce toxic compounds and was selected for further study. The strain was identified as Streptomyces virginiae by 16S ribosomal RNA gene sequencing. We replaced soybean meal with tofu waste in antibiotic producing medium to improve antagonistic activity of VN10-A-44 against the Xoo pathogen and to make use of tofu waste for large-scale fermentation of VN10-A-44. We found that replacing soybean meal with 20 and 30 g of tofu waste/litter in the antibiotic producing medium gave the largest inhibition zone against the Xoo pathogen.Key words: Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae, rice bacterial blight disease, Streptomyces virginiae, Vietnam
