The Spatial Planning for the Educational Services and the Scarcity of Urban Land: Study Area: Al-Sadder City

    Get PDF
Many Of Cities Are experiencing a real shortage and need for school buildings due to overcrowding and duplication in school attendance, The growth of educational institutions has been barge into the scarcity of urban land required for the construction of school buildings. In order to address this scarcity, the cities needs to adopt one or more urban policies to address the scarcity of allocated land For educational services

Extended uncertainty principle and Van der Waals black holes

In this manuscript, we investigate the extended uncertainty principle (EUP) effects on the Van der Waals (VdW) black holes whose thermal quantities mimic the VdW liquid. We find that the considered formalism imposes an upper bound on the event horizon radius. Thus, the mass, Hawking temperature, and heat capacity become physically meaningful within a certain range of event horizon radii. At a large event horizon radius the black hole has a remnant. Whether the VdW black hole is stable or not depends on the black hole parameters.Comment: 13 pages, 10 figure

    Dunkl-Pauli Equation

The Pauli equation, an important equation of quantum mechanics, allows us to study the dynamics of spin-1/21/2 particles. The Dunkl derivative, when used instead of the ordinary derivative, allows us to obtain parity-dependent solutions. In this work, we consider a two-dimensional nonrelativistic spin-1/21/2 particle system in the presence of an external magnetic field, and we explore the system's dynamics by solving the Pauli equation in the Dunkl formalism analytically. Then, we assume the system to be in thermal equilibrium, so that, we examine various thermal quantities of the system.Comment: 10 pages, 8 figure

Pediatric liver transplantation from neonatal donors

    Get PDF
Sixteen recipients of neonatal liver grafts were compared with 114 contemporaneous pediatric recipients of grafts from older donors. Graft and patient survival were worse in the neonatal group although the differences were not statistically significant. Patients with neonatal livers who had no technical complications required a longer time postoperatively to correct jaundice and a prolonged prothrombin time. These functional differences were limited to the 1st postoperative month and the end result was the same as with liver transplantation from older donors. © 1992 Springer-Verlag

On Dunkl-Bose-Einstein Condensation in Harmonic Traps

The use of the Dunkl derivative, which is defined by a combination of the difference-differential and reflection operator, allows the classification of the solutions according to even and odd solutions. Recently, we considered the Dunkl formalism to investigate the Bose-Einstein condensation of an ideal Bose gas confined in a gravitational field. In this work, we address a similar problem and examine an ideal Bose gas trapped by a three-dimensional harmonic oscillator within the Dunkl formalism. To this end, we derive an analytic expression for the critical temperature of the N particle system, discuss its value at large-N limit and finally derive and compare the ground state population with the usual case result. In addition, we explore two thermal quantities, namely the Dunkl-internal energy and the Dunkl-heat capacity functions. The Wigner parameter of the Dunkl formalism can be successfully used to obtain a better agreement between experimental and theoretical results.Comment: 11 pages, 5 figure

Pharmacokinetics of intravenous and subcutaneous cefovecin in alpacas

The purpose of this study was to determine the pharmacokinetics of cefovecin after intravenous and subcutaneous dose of 8 mg/kg to alpacas. Bacterial infections requiring long‐term antibiotic therapy such as neonatal bacteremia, pneumonia, peritonitis, dental, and uterine infections are a significant cause of morbidity and mortality in this species. However, few antimicrobials have been evaluated and proven to have favorable pharmacokinetics for therapeutic use. Most antimicrobials that are currently used require daily injections for many days. Cefovecin is a long‐acting cephalosporin that is formulated for subcutaneous administration, and its long‐elimination half‐life allows for 14‐day dosing intervals in dogs and cats. The properties of cefovecin may be advantageous for medical treatment of camelids due to its broad spectrum, route of administration, and long duration of activity. Pharmacokinetic evaluation of antimicrobial drugs in camelids is essential for the proper treatment and prevention of bacterial disease, and to minimize development of antibiotic resistant bacterial strains due to inadequate antibiotic concentrations. Cefovecin mean half‐life, volume of distribution at steady‐state, and clearance after intravenous administration were 10.3 h, 86 mL/kg, and 7.07 mL·h/kg. The bioavailability was 143%, while half‐life, Cmax, and Tmax were 16.9 h, 108 μg/mL, and 2.8 h following subcutaneous administration. In the absence of additional microbial susceptibility data for alpaca pathogens, the current cefovecin dosage regimen prescribed for dogs (8 mg/kg SC every 14 days) may need to be optimized for the treatment of infections in this species
