    Granular Partition and Concept Lattice Division Based on Quotient Space

    In this paper, we investigate the relationship between the concept lattice and quotient space by granularity. A new framework of knowledge representation - granular quotient space - is constructed and it demonstrates that concept lattice classing is linked to quotient space. The covering of the formal context is firstly given based on this granule, then the granular concept lattice model and its construction are discussed on the sub-context which is formed by the granular classification set. We analyze knowledge reduction and give the description of granular entropy techniques, including some novel formulas. Lastly, a concept lattice constructing algorithm is proposed based on multi-granular feature selection in quotient space. Examples and experiments show that the algorithm can obtain a minimal reduct and is much more efficient than classical incremental concept formation methods

    Measuring The User Experience And Its Importance To Customer Satisfaction: An Empirical Stusy For Telecom e-Service Websites

    In telecom settings, using e-service website has become an increasingly common activity among mobile users. As an important channel, website users experience that quality plays a key role for e-service or business successes. With the use of an online structured questionnaire, a total of 20,040 were surveyed to answer the questions in thirty-one provinces in China. With methods of Principal Component Analysis, a five-factor e-service website user experience questionnaire was examined, and the factors of perceived functional completion, perceived websites performance, quality of interface and interaction, quality of content and information, and quality of online customer support or service were found effectively to measure e-service website user experience quality. In addition, all of these five aspects in e-service website user experience were found to be significant in predicting overall customer satisfaction

    Integrating the impacts of vegetation coverage on ecosystem services to determine ecological restoration targets for adaptive management on the Loess Plateau, China

    Achieving sustainable resource management is essential to address the rising demand for ecosystem services. The absence of targeted vegetation restoration based on ecological function positioning has, nevertheless, made it challenging to effectively combat the ecological decline. This study attempted to classify four dominant ecological function areas based on the assessment of water conservation, soil retention, habitat quality, and food supply and determined the vegetation coverage threshold by exploring the trade-offs among ecosystem services and constraint effects between ecosystem services and vegetation coverage. The results highlighted the impacts of ecosystem services on vegetation coverage across the years 1990, 2000, 2010, and 2020 and established differentiated ecological restoration targets. The optimal vegetation coverage in the water conservation area was found to be 58%–63%, in the soil retention area was 52%–56%, in the food supply area was 34%–40%, and in the habitat quality area was 65%–70%. Finally, the study identified the subwatersheds with reasonable vegetation coverage, excessive restoration, and those that failed to reach the optimal vegetation coverage to develop targeted restoration strategies for each subwatershed according to its unique vegetation conditions. This study provides valuable insights into the specification of differentiated vegetation coverage targets and serves as a useful tool for more effective ecosystem planning and management.</p

    Dramatic Increases of Soil Microbial Functional Gene Diversity at the Treeline Ecotone of Changbai Mountain.

    The elevational and latitudinal diversity patterns of microbial taxa have attracted great attention in the past decade. Recently, the distribution of functional attributes has been in the spotlight. Here, we report a study profiling soil microbial communities along an elevation gradient (500-2200 m) on Changbai Mountain. Using a comprehensive functional gene microarray (GeoChip 5.0), we found that microbial functional gene richness exhibited a dramatic increase at the treeline ecotone, but the bacterial taxonomic and phylogenetic diversity based on 16S rRNA gene sequencing did not exhibit such a similar trend. However, the β-diversity (compositional dissimilarity among sites) pattern for both bacterial taxa and functional genes was similar, showing significant elevational distance-decay patterns which presented increased dissimilarity with elevation. The bacterial taxonomic diversity/structure was strongly influenced by soil pH, while the functional gene diversity/structure was significantly correlated with soil dissolved organic carbon (DOC). This finding highlights that soil DOC may be a good predictor in determining the elevational distribution of microbial functional genes. The finding of significant shifts in functional gene diversity at the treeline ecotone could also provide valuable information for predicting the responses of microbial functions to climate change

    Do lncRNAs and circRNAs expression profiles influence discoid lupus erythematosus progression?—a comprehensive analysis.

    Background: Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) and circular RNAs (circRNAs)are involved in the progression of discoid lupus erythematosus (DLE), but an understanding of their underlying mechanisms remains elusive. To explore the expression profiles of lncRNAs and circRNAs in DLE, we surveyed the lncRNA/circRNA and mRNA expression profiles in the epithelia of oral DLE and adjacent normal tissues. Methods: The lesional and non-lesional lower lips of three DLE patients were analysed by RNAsequencing (RNA-seq). The principal functions of the significantly deregulated genes were identified using Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway enrichment analyses. And the correlated expression networks (coding-noncoding co-expression and lncRNAstranscription factor-mRNA) were evaluated as well. Results: Hundreds of significantly changed lncRNAs and mRNAs and dozens of significantly changed circRNAs were identified. lncRNA lnc-MIPOL1-6 and IncRNA IncDDX47-3 expressions were correlated with immune response-related genes, including IL19, CXCL1, CXCL11, and TNFSF15. Up-regulated IncRNA-TF network consists of 8 TFs and 74 related lncRNAs. The lncRNA-TF-gene trans-regulation consisting of 204 lncRNAs,39 TFs, and correlated 3 genes. Conclusions: These results demonstrate that lncRNAs and circRNAs can influence the progression of DLE. Certain mRNAs/lncRNAs/circRNAs may have substantial value in DLE diagnosis and therapy

    A proteome map of primary cultured rat Schwann cells

    <p>Abstract</p> <p>Background</p> <p>Schwann cells (SCs) are the principal glial cells of the peripheral nervous system with a wide range of biological functions. SCs play a key role in peripheral nerve regeneration and are involved in several hereditary peripheral neuropathies. The objective of this study was to gain new insight into the whole protein composition of SCs.</p> <p>Results</p> <p>Two-dimensional liquid chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry (2D LC-MS/MS) was performed to identify the protein expressions in primary cultured SCs of rats. We identified a total of 1,232 proteins, which were categorized into 20 functional classes. We also used quantitative real time RT-PCR and Western blot analysis to validate some of proteomics-identified proteins.</p> <p>Conclusion</p> <p>We showed for the first time the proteome map of SCs. Our data could serve as a reference library to provide basic information for understanding SC biology.</p
