Absorbents in Microanalysis. III*. Lead Chromate as an External Absorbent in the Microanalysis of Chlorine, Bromine, and Sulphur

    Get PDF
A simple method for microdetermination of chlorine and bromine is described. Halogens are absorbed by lead chromate at about 400°, and determined from the :increase of weight of lead chromate. It was found that at 4!00° microquantities of halogens catalyse quantitatively the oxidation of sulphur dioxide to sulphur trioxide; thus from the combined weight of the halogen and sulphur trioxide the percentage of sulphur and halogen can be calculated

A Simple Photometric Method for the Determination of Hydrazinophthalazines

    Get PDF
An accurate and sensitive photometric method for the determination of hydrnzinophthalazines is described. The method is based on the formation of the yellow azine by the action of the acid solution of p-dimethylaminobenzaldehyde. The proposed method is successfully applied on the determination of 1-hydrazinophthalazine hydrochloride (I) and 1,4-dihydrazinophthalazine sulphate (II)

By using the 14 C-tracer technique it was established that the carbon dioxid e evolved in the reaction of ~ -ureido ester I with acetic anhydride originates from the carbonyl of the ureido group. N,N-Diacylamino esters and N-acylamino esters were also obtained from a -ureido ester II and acetic anhydride, as well as from propionic acid anhydri de and ~-ureido ester I. In addition N,N-dipropionyla mino ester VII and N-propionylamino ester VIII were synthesized from the corresponding ~ - am ino ester and N - carbony 1 ester, respectively. It was shown that the conversion of N, J· -diacylamino estern into the monoacylamino esters occurs readily if small amounts of acet ic and propionic acid, respectively, were present i n the boiling anhydride. Reduction of N,N-diacetylamino ester II w ith lithium aluminium hydride gave the dialkylamino alcohol XII
