An Interacting Scenario for Dark Energy in Bianchi Type-I Universe
We study the interaction between dark energy (DE) and dark matter (DM) in the
scope of anisotropic bianchi type I space-time. First we derive the general
form of the dark energy equation of state parameter (EoS) in both
non-interacting and interacting cases and then we examine it's future by
applying a hyperbolic scale factor. It is shown that in non-interacting case,
depending on the value of the anisotropy parameter , the dark energy EoS
parameter is varying from phantom to quintessence whereas in interacting case
EoS parameter vary in quintessence region. However, in both cases the dark
energy EoS parameter , ultimately (i. e at ) tends to the
cosmological constant (). Moreover, we fixed the cosmological
bound on the anisotropy parameter by using the recent observational data of
Hubble parameter.Comment: 12 pages, 6 figures, Research in Astronomy and Astrophysics, 201
Improved detection of Probe Request Attacks : Using Neural Networks and Genetic Algorithm
The Media Access Control (MAC) layer of the wireless protocol, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) 802.11, is based on the exchange of request and response messages. Probe Request Flooding Attacks (PRFA) are devised based on this design flaw to reduce network performance or prevent legitimate users from accessing network resources. The vulnerability is amplified due to clear beacon, probe request and probe response frames. The research is to detect PRFA of Wireless Local Area Networks (WLAN) using a Supervised Feedforward Neural Network (NN). The NN converged outstandingly with train, valid, test sample percentages 70, 15, 15 and hidden neurons 20. The effectiveness of an Intruder Detection System depends on its prediction accuracy. This paper presents optimisation of the NN using Genetic Algorithms (GA). GAs sought to maximise the performance of the model based on Linear Regression (R) and generated R > 0.95. Novelty of this research lies in the fact that the NN accepts user and attacker training data captured separately. Hence, security administrators do not have to perform the painstaking task of manually identifying individual frames for labelling prior training. The GA provides a reliable NN model and recognises the behaviour of the NN for diverse configurations
Conserved Charges and Supersymmetry in Principal Chiral Models
We report on investigations of local (and non-local) charges in bosonic and
supersymmetric principal chiral models in 1+1 dimensions. In the bosonic PCM
there is a classically conserved local charge for each symmetric invariant
tensor of the underlying group. These all commute with the non-local Yangian
charges. The algebra of the local charges amongst themselves is rather more
subtle. We give a universal formula for infinite sets of mutually commuting
local charges with spins equal to the exponents of the underlying classical
algebra modulo its Coxeter number. Many of these results extend to the
supersymmetric PCM, but with local conserved charges associated with
antisymmetric invariants in the Lie algebra. We comment briefly on the quantum
conservation of local charges in both the bosonic and super PCMs.Comment: 18 pages, LaTeX. Revised and up-dated version based on conference

Blade-mounted trailing edge flap control for BVI noise reduction
Numerical procedures based on the 2-D and 3-D full potential equations and the 2-D Navier-Stokes equations were developed to study the effects of leading and trailing edge flap motions on the aerodynamics of parallel airfoil-vortex interactions and on the aerodynamics and acoustics of the more general self-generated rotor blade vortex interactions (BVI). For subcritical interactions, the 2-D results indicate that the trailing edge flap can be used to alleviate the impulsive loads experienced by the airfoil. For supercritical interactions, the results show the necessity of using a leading edge flap, rather than a trailing edge flap, to alleviate the interaction. Results for various time dependent flap motions and their effect on the predicted temporal sectional loads, differential pressures, and the free vortex trajectories are presented. For the OLS model rotor, contours of a BVI noise metric were used to quantify the effects of the trailing edge flap on the size and directivity of the high/low intensity noise region(s). Average reductions in the BVI noise levels on the order of 5 dB with moderate power penalties on the order of 18 pct. for a four bladed rotor and 58 pct. for a two bladed rotor were obtained
Interacting Spin-2 Fields
We construct consistent theories of multiple interacting spin-2 fields in
arbitrary spacetime dimensions using a vielbein formulation. We show that these
theories have the additional primary constraints needed to eliminate potential
ghosts, to all orders in the fields, and to all orders beyond any decoupling
limit. We postulate that the number of spin-2 fields interacting at a single
vertex is limited by the number of spacetime dimensions. We then show that, for
the case of two spin-2 fields, the vielbein theory is equivalent to the
recently proposed theories of ghost-free massive gravity and bi-metric gravity.
The vielbein formulation greatly simplifies the proof that these theories have
an extra primary constraint which eliminates the Boulware-Deser ghost.Comment: 42 pages, 3 figures. v3 alternative argument using constrained
spatial vielbeins has been removed (see footnote 3
Changes in left atrial deformation in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy: Evaluation by vector velocity imaging.
OBJECTIVES: Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) represents a generalized myopathic process affecting both ventricular and atrial myocardium. We assessed the global and regional left atrial (LA) function and its relation to left ventricular (LV) mechanics and clinical status in patients with HCM using Vector Velocity Imaging (VVI). METHODS: VVI of the LA and LV was acquired from apical four- and two-chamber views of 108 HCM patients (age 40 ± 19years, 56.5% men) and 33 healthy subjects, all had normal LV systolic function. The LA subendocardium was traced to obtain atrial volumes, ejection fraction, velocities, and strain (ϵ)/strain rate (SR) measurements. RESULTS: Left atrial reservoir (ϵsys,SRsys) and conduit (early diastolic SRe) function were significantly reduced in HCM compared to controls (P - 1.8s(- 1) was 81% sensitive and 30% specific, SRa> - 1.5s(- 1) was 73% sensitive and 40% specific. By multivariate analysis global LVϵsys and LV septal thickness are independent predictors for LAϵsys, while end systolic diameter is the only independent predictor for SRsys, P < .001. CONCLUSION: Left atrial reservoir and conduit function as measured by VVI were significantly impaired while contractile function was preserved among HCM patients. Left atrial deformation was greatly influenced by LV mechanics and correlated to severity of phenotype
