    Demonstrating that the non orthogonal orbital optimized coupled cluster model converges to full configuration interaction

    Coupled cluster (CC) methods are among the most accurate methods in quantum chemistry. However, the standard CC linear response formulation is not gauge invariant resulting in errors when modelling properties like optical rotation and electron circular dichroism. Including an explicit unitary orbital rotation in the CC Lagrangian makes the linear response function gauge invariant, but the resulting models are not equivalent to full configuration interaction (FCI) in the untruncated limit. In this contribution, such methods are briefly discussed and it is demonstrated that methods using a nonorthogonal orbital transformation, such as nonorthogonal orbital optimized CC (NOCC), can converge to FCI in the untruncated limit.     NON-FARM LABOR SUPPLY: THEORY AND ESTIMATION

    During the last decade considerable research has been carried out on the non-farm labor supply of farm households. New insights and hypotheses on the economic behavior of households, known as "new home economics," and progress in applying more sophisticated estimation techniques have stimulated these research activities. The focus of this paper is the standard neoclassical model of labor supply and a corresponding empirical research strategy. The empirical model refers to household-level data from West Germany. As the results reveal, farm households decide on the allocation of their resources in a very rational manner.     Fish and bivalves at Bolsa Chica Marsh re-establishment project; Progress report III

    The objectives of our fish and bivalve study are: 1. Determine changes in the number of species of fish and bivalves before Phase I and during Phase 1 at Bolsa Chica Marsh. 2. Determine if California Department of Fish and Game's predicted benefits in Phase I were achieved by increases in fish species. 3. Determine influences of water management practices upon fish and bivalve composition. Thirteen species of fish and five species of bivalves were collected from Inner Bolsa Bay and South Bolsa Slough. Deepbody anchovy, Anchoa compressa; jacksmelt, Atherinopsis californiensis; longjaw mudsucker, Gillichthys mirabilis; specklefin midshipman, Porichthys myriaster; round stingray, Urolophus halleri; banded chione, Chione californiensis; bentnose clam, Macoma nasuta; and common littleneck clam, Protothaca staminea have not been reported previously from Inner Bolsa Bay. Nine species of fish and four species of bivalves were collected from outer Bolsa Bay. Yellowfin goby, Acanthogobius flavimanus; longjaw mudsucker; tilapia, Tilapia mossambica; and bay pipefish, Syngnathus leptorhynchus have not been reported previously from Outer Bolsa Bay. (11pp.

Although this organisational structure resulted in a reliable and low-priced system, it is said not to be completely stable and efficient. National and international developments stimulate the introduction of a liberalised system.     Strong Nash Equilibria in Games with the Lexicographical Improvement Property

    We introduce a class of finite strategic games with the property that every deviation of a coalition of players that is profitable to each of its members strictly decreases the lexicographical order of a certain function defined on the set of strategy profiles. We call this property the Lexicographical Improvement Property (LIP) and show that it implies the existence of a generalized strong ordinal potential function. We use this characterization to derive existence, efficiency and fairness properties of strong Nash equilibria. We then study a class of games that generalizes congestion games with bottleneck objectives that we call bottleneck congestion games. We show that these games possess the LIP and thus the above mentioned properties. For bottleneck congestion games in networks, we identify cases in which the potential function associated with the LIP leads to polynomial time algorithms computing a strong Nash equilibrium. Finally, we investigate the LIP for infinite games. We show that the LIP does not imply the existence of a generalized strong ordinal potential, thus, the existence of SNE does not follow. Assuming that the function associated with the LIP is continuous, however, we prove existence of SNE. As a consequence, we prove that bottleneck congestion games with infinite strategy spaces and continuous cost functions possess a strong Nash equilibrium

    Directed Percolation Universality in Asynchronous Evolution of Spatio-Temporal Intermittency

    We present strong evidence that a coupled-map-lattice model for spatio-temporal intermittency belongs to the universality class of directed percolation when the updating rules are asynchronous, i.e. when only one randomly chosen site is evolved at each time step. In contrast, when the system is subjected to parallel updating, available numerical evidence suggests that it does not belong to this universality class and that it is not even universal.     The Preparation of Liposomes Derived From Mixed Micelles of Lecithin Added by Sodium Cholate, Followed by Dialysing Using Hemoflow High Flux F60S

    Liposomes are used for drug carriers meaning that drugs are incorporated in the membrane or the vesicle of the liposomes. In this study, liposomes were prepared from mixed micelles, consisting of phosphatidylcholine, without or with cholesterol and sodium cholate was added in several ratios namely 0.44; 0.55; 0.63; 0.70; 0.90 and 1.10. After the preparation, the sodium cholate has been removed by a dialysis membrane, using the Hemoflow High Flux, which is generally used for haemodialysis. The Hemoflow High Flux is a tool in an effort to obtain a simple, quick, effective method for removing sodium cholate in the process of preparing liposomes. The effectiveness of this tool was proved by the particle size of the liposome which was measured by the Malvern Particle Sizer. The particle size of the liposome consisting of phosphatidylcholine (PC) without cholesterol and with cholesterol was 63-68 nm at all ratios and approximately 125 nm at the ratio of 0.55; 0.63; 0.70, respectively. The particle size of the liposome tended to be smaller after dialyzing, although the concentration of lipids tended to increase. However, a large amount of buffer solution has to be used with this method
