Optimal tariff period determination
We separated the problem into two simpler problems. The first problem is to choose the seasonal tariff periods, and the second problem is to choose the daily tariff periods. During the study group, we mainly considered the first problem, which is simpler because there are just two seasonal tariff periods, peak and off-peak. In the second problem, we can have a maximum of four daily tariff periods
T invariance of Higgs interactions in the standard model
In the standard model, the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix, which
incorporates the time-reversal violation shown by the charged current weak
interactions, originates from the Higgs-quark interactions. The Yukawa
interactions of quarks with the physical Higgs particle can contain further
complex phase factors, but nevertheless conserve T, as shown by constructing

A New Layer Casting System for Ceramic Laser Rapid Prototyping Apparatus
In the existing Ceramic Laser Fusion system, slurry is fed on the high
temperature surface of the green part; therefore, a part of water infiltrates into the
green block and vaporizes before the process of layer casting. As a result, the slurry
viscosity rises gradually; the quality of the layer surface is not uniform, and the green
part density is uneven. The aim of present study is to develop a new layer casting
system which can solve the problems mentioned above to obtain a green part with
uniform surface quality and density, and to shorten the time-taken of part fabrication.
The first part of the paper illustrates the major requirements and parameters of a slurry
distributor; the second part describes the integration of the slurry feeding device and
layer casting system. The integrated system can feed slurry and cast thin layer
simultaneously; consequently, the drawbacks of the existing system can be eliminated
and the time-taken of the layer casting can be shortened. A variable-frequency drive
(inverter) is used to control the motor speed. The relation between the frequency and
the slurry delivery can be included in the process control program to adjust the
quantity in accordance with the layer thickness; hence, the waste of the slurry can be

Perturbative and non-perturbative QCD corrections to wide-angle Compton scattering
We investigate corrections to the handbag approach for wide-angle Compton
scattering off protons at moderately large momentum transfer: the photon-parton
subprocess is calculated to next-to-leading order QCD and contributions from
the generalized parton distribution E} are taken into account. Photon and
proton helicity flip amplitudes are non-zero due to these corrections which
leads to a wealth of polarization phenomena in Compton scattering. Thus, for
instance, the incoming photon asymmetry or the transverse polarization of the

Proton mass effects in wide-angle Compton scattering
We investigate proton mass effects in the handbag approach to wide-angle
Compton scattering. We find that theoretical uncertainties due to the proton
mass are significant for photon energies presently studied at Jefferson Lab.

Angle-resolved photoemission studies of the superconducting gap symmetry in Fe-based superconductors
The superconducting gap is the fundamental parameter that characterizes the
superconducting state, and its symmetry is a direct consequence of the
mechanism responsible for Cooper pairing. Here we discuss about angle-resolved
photoemission spectroscopy measurements of the superconducting gap in the
Fe-based high-temperature superconductors. We show that the superconducting gap
is Fermi surface dependent and nodeless with small anisotropy, or more
precisely, a function of momentum. We show that while this observation is
inconsistent with weak coupling approaches for superconductivity in these
materials, it is well supported by strong coupling models and global
superconducting gaps. We also suggest that the strong anisotropies measured by
other probes sensitive to the residual density of states are not related to the
pairing interaction itself, but rather emerge naturally from the smaller
lifetime of the superconducting Cooper pairs that is a direct consequence of
the momentum dependent interband scattering inherent to these materials.Comment: 7 pages, 5 figure
