Matteus 18:1520: 'n Diachroniese en sinchroniese ondersoek met besondere verwysing na kerklike dissipline
Matthew 18:1520: A diachronic and synchronic investigation with special reference to church discipline It is well known that gospel material consists of traditional matter as well as the evangelists' own input. A thorough exegesis should contain both the aspects of the investigation into the growth of the tradition (diachrony), and the study of the text in its final stage (synchrony). Matthew 18:1520 is subjected to such an approach. As part of the diachrony these verses are studied by means of the historical critical paradigm. Special attention is paid to source and redaction criticism. Under the synchronic aspect this pericope is investigated structurally, historically and theologically. Discourse and narrative analyses are used for the structural component
The Sanctity of human life. A perspective from New Testament anthropology
The article deals with sanctity of life issues such as abortion, euthanasia, treatment of the disabled, war, and capital punishment. These matters are not treated individually but collectively from the perspective of New Testament anthropology. Having taken care of a few methodological considerations, the main focus falls on a discussion of man as sinner, man in Christ, and the category of the least

Stream-field interactions in the magnetic accretor AO Piscium
UV spectra of the magnetic accretor AO Psc show absorption features for half
the binary orbit. The absorption is unlike the wind-formed features often seen
in similar stars. Instead, we attribute it to a fraction of the stream that
overflows the impact with the accretion disk. Rapid velocity variations can be
explained by changes in the trajectory of the stream depending on the
orientation of the white-dwarf's magnetic field. Hence we are directly
observing the interaction of an accretion stream with a rotating field. We
compare this behavior to that seen in other intermediate polars and in SW Sex
stars.Comment: Accepted for ApJ; 6 page
Utilizing formal innovation models to support and guide industry innovation projects
CITATION: van Zyl, H., du Preez, N.D., & Schutte, C. 2007. Utilizing formal innovation models to support and guide industry innovation projects. South African Journal of Industrial Engineering 18(2): 203-219, doi: http://dx.doi.org/10.7166/18-2-127.The original publication is available at http://sajie.journals.ac.zaENGLISH ABSTRACT: The high failure rate of innovation projects indicates that many companies are not
getting the full benefit from their innovation projects [1], [2]. A research project was
carried out during 2005 that explored and compared the existing formal models for
supporting innovation, in order to address the identified problem. It proposed
guidelines for improving and refining innovation projects. A case study that focused
on the front-end of product innovation in the wine industry and the applicability of
the formal W-model [3] to innovation activities was used to evaluate how formal
innovation models can indeed effectively support industry innovation projects. The
innovation life cycle was used to categorize a number of innovation frameworks for
product, process, and enterprise innovation. Further research should focus on
extending the case study to other industries, such as the automotive sector.AFRIKAANSE OPSOMMING: Die groot aantal onsuksesvolle innovasie projekte dui daarop dat maatskappye nie
die volle voordele uit hul innovasie projekte kry nie [1], [2]. ’n Navorsingsprojek is
Analytical treatment of interacting Fermi gas in arbitrary dimensional harmonic trap
We study normal state properties of an interacting Fermi gas in an isotropic
harmonic trap of arbitrary dimensions. We exactly calculate the first-order
perturbation terms in the ground state energy and chemical potential, and
obtain simple analytic expressions of the total energy and chemical potential.
At zero temperature, we find that Thomas-Fermi approximation agrees well with
exact results for any dimension even though system is dilute and small, i.e.
when the Thomas-Fermi approximation is generally expected to fail. In the high
temperature (classical) region, we find interaction energy decreases in
proportion to T^(-d/2), where T is temperature and d is dimension of the
system. Effect of interaction in the ground state in two and three-dimensional
systems is also discussed.Comment: 15 pages, 4 figure
Simulations of Spinodal Nucleation in Systems with Elastic Interactions
Systems with long-range interactions quenched into a metastable state near
the pseudospinodal exhibit nucleation that is qualitatively different than the
classical nucleation observed near the coexistence curve. We have observed
nucleation droplets in our Langevin simulations of a two-dimensional model of
martensitic transformations and have determined that the structure of the
nucleating droplet differs from the stable martensite structure. Our results,
together with experimental measurements of the phonon dispersion curve, allow
us to predict the nature of the droplet. These results have implications for
nucleation in many solid-solid transitions and the structure of the final
state
