A democratic university or university for democracy?
University has still been a fundamental institution for the formation of the citizenship and the construction of the public in democratic societies. Focused on the production and reproduction of knowledge, University educates a new generation of citizens, not only on technical-instrumental aspects, but also on ethical-political ones. Although among institutions there is now a current tendency to draw more attention to the first aspect than to the later one. Such ethics-political formation takes place in the particular areas of the academia, where free discussion is encouraged. University, likewise, taking general issues as a subject matter, particularly, the ones related to the organization and development of the society it belongs to. The above provides arguments to enrich citizen discussion on common topics, and even, to propose and carry out actions for the consolidation of the Public in the society.Peer Reviewe
El contexto social y cultural en la lectoescritura de educación media superior
Reading and writing enable communication and interactionbetween people and the world. In the case of high school students,this activity is reflected in school performance and is essentialfor acquiring knowledge. When students have not developed thisskill correctly, it becomes a problem that affects all their relationaldimensions. For this reason, it was proposed to identify the maindifficulties faced by students in relation to literacy codes in high school, as well as the context of production of the writings. The methodology was based on the exploratory qualitative approach, using the content analysis method. The information was obtainedfrom one hundred documents written by twenty first-year high school students from a private institution in the State of Puebla. The analysis and categorization of the writings was carried out with ATLAS.ti software, 9.0.7 version. The results shown in thispaper are based on the analysis of three types of texts produced bythe students: travelogue, essay, and anecdote paper. It is concludedthat such literacy practices give proof of the abilities that define the communicative competences assimilated during school life,how they function and how students relate to society. This makes it possible to think about designing new teaching-learning strategies for literacy. The analysis and categorization of the writings was carried out with ATLAS.ti software, 9.0.7 version. The results shown in this paper are based on the analysis of three types of texts produced by the students: travelogue, essay, and anecdote paper. La lectoescritura posibilita la comunicación e interacción de laspersonas con el mundo. En el caso de estudiantes de educación media superior, esta actividad se refleja en el rendimiento escolar y es fundamental para adquirir otros aprendizajes. Cuando el estudiante no ha desarrollado correctamente esta habilidad, se convierte en un problema que afecta todas sus dimensionesrelacionales. Por este motivo se planteó identificar las principalesdificultades que enfrenta el alumnado en relación con los códigos de lectoescritura en educación media superior, así como el contexto de producción de los escritos. La metodología se basó en el enfoque cualitativo de carácter exploratorio, utilizando el método de análisis de contenido. La información se obtuvomediante la recolección de 100 documentos elaborados por 20estudiantes de primer año de educación media superior de unainstitución privada del Estado de Puebla. El análisis y categorización de los escritos se realizó con el softwareATLAS.ti versión 9.0.7. Los resultados que se muestran en este trabajo parten del análisis de tres textos de producción estudiantil: cuaderno de viaje, ensayo y anecdotario. Se concluye que las prácticas de lectoescritura muestran los rasgos que definen las competencias comunicativas asimiladas en el transcurso de la vida escolar, su funcionamiento y cómo se relacionan los y las estudiantes con la sociedad. A new way of teaching to collaborate through social networks
Un grupo de profesores, miembros del Grupo de Investigación Didáctica de la Facultad de Ciencias
de la Educación de la Universidad de Sevilla, estamos llevando a cabo un trabajo de investigación
consistente en conocer la idoneidad de los códigos QR (o códigos de respuesta rápida) en la
enseñanza. Para ello estamos llevando a cabo un repositorio virtual en la red social Facebook que
contenga dos apartados clave: por un lado un lugar en donde albergar los diferentes códigos que
vayamos encontrando en la propia calle y en la red internet, clasificándolos según su tipología y
ámbito; y por otro lado, ubicar un espacio en donde alojar diferentes propuestas o buenas prácticas
de utilización de estos códigos en la enseñanza en general y diferentes disciplinas en particular.
Nuestra intención al finalizar este trabajo consiste en realizar unas jornadas o taller en donde se
puedan exponer diferentes ponencias que ejemplifiquen cómo se pueden utilizar estos códigos en
áreas curriculares concretas, así como la publicación de un texto que contenga dichas aportaciones.A group of teachers, members of the Research Group Education in the Faculty of Education at the

codes (quick response or codes) in teaching. For this we are conducting a virtual repository of the
social network Facebook that contains two key sections: first a place to house the various codes that
we find in the street itself and the internet, classified according to their type and scope and on the
other hand, place a hold space where different proposals or best practices for using these codes in
education in general and in particular disciplines. We intend to finalize this work is to conduct a
conference or workshop where they can present different papers that illustrate how you can use
these codes in specific curricular areas, and the publication of a text containing such contributions
La aportación de los emigrante al nivel educativo de Cantabria
The región of Cantabria (Spain) keeps up a hight rate of education since the XVlllth century; a fact that is due, to a great extent, to the work and generosity of his emigrants. Settled in América and Andalusia, and engaged in the colonial commerce, they never forget their homeland. The money they sent to found schools promoted education all aroimd the región, and made the hight rate possible. That is way we could consider them as modem factors of the society.La región de Cantabria debe, en buena parte, su alto Índice de alfabetización, que mantiene desde el siglo XVIIl, a la tradicional inversión en educación de sus emigrantes establecidos en América y Andalucía. Dedicados mayoritariamente al comercio y los negocios coloniales tuvieron, especialmente a lo largo del siglo XVIII y XIX, muy buenas posibilidades de éxito. No se olvidaron de su tierra. Una parte de los benefícios obtenidos se enviaron a sus lugares de origen ayudando a mejorar la calidad de vida de su población. Integrated economic-hydrologic analysis of policy responses
Water is a vital resource, but also a critical limiting factor for economic and social development in many parts of the world. The recent rapid growth in human population and water use for social and economic development is increasing the pressure on water resources and the environment, as well as leading to growing conflicts among competing water use sectors (agriculture, urban, tourism, industry) and regions (Gleick et al., 2009; World Bank, 2006). In Spain, as in many other arid and semi-arid regions affected by drought and wide climate variability, irrigated agriculture is responsible for most consumptive water use and plays an important role in sustaining rural livelihoods (Varela-Ortega, 2007). Historically, the evolution of irrigation has been based on publicly-funded irrigation development plans that promoted economic growth and improved the socio-economic conditions of rural farmers in agrarian Spain, but increased environmental damage and led to excessive and inefficient exploitation of water resources (Garrido and Llamas, 2010; Varela-Ortega et al., 2010). Currently, water policies in Spain focus on rehabilitating and improving the efficiency of irrigation systems, and are moving from technocratic towards integrated water management strategies driven by the European Union (EU) Water Framework Directive (WFD)
Integrated assessment of policy interventions for promoting sustainable irrigation in semi-arid environments: A hydro-economic modeling approach
Sustaining irrigated agriculture to meet food production needs while maintaining aquatic ecosystems is at the heart of many policy debates in various parts of the world, especially in arid and semi-arid areas. Researchers and practitioners are increasingly calling for integrated approaches, and policy-makers are progressively supporting the inclusion of ecological and social aspects in water management programs. This paper contributes to this policy debate by providing an integrated economic-hydrologic modeling framework that captures the socio-economic and environmental effects of various policy initiatives and climate variability. This modeling integration includes a risk-based economic optimization model and a hydrologic water management simulation model that have been specified for the Middle Guadiana basin, a vulnerable drought-prone agro-ecological area with highly regulated river systems in southwest Spain. Namely, two key water policy interventions were investigated: the implementation of minimum environmental flows (supported by the European Water Framework Directive, EU WFD), and a reduction in the legal amount of water delivered for irrigation (planned measure included in the new Guadiana River Basin Management Plan, GRBMP, still under discussion). Results indicate that current patterns of excessive water use for irrigation in the basin may put environmental flow demands at risk, jeopardizing the WFD s goal of restoring the ?good ecological status? of water bodies by 2015. Conflicts between environmental and agricultural water uses will be stressed during prolonged dry episodes, and particularly in summer low-flow periods, when there is an important increase of crop irrigation water requirements. Securing minimum stream flows would entail a substantial reduction in irrigation water use for rice cultivation, which might affect the profitability and economic viability of small rice-growing farms located upstream in the river. The new GRBMP could contribute to balance competing water demands in the basin and to increase economic water productivity, but might not be sufficient to ensure the provision of environmental flows as required by the WFD. A thoroughly revision of the basin s water use concession system for irrigation seems to be needed in order to bring the GRBMP in line with the WFD objectives. Furthermore, the study illustrates that social, economic, institutional, and technological factors, in addition to bio-physical conditions, are important issues to be considered for designing and developing water management strategies. The research initiative presented in this paper demonstrates that hydro-economic models can explicitly integrate all these issues, constituting a valuable tool that could assist policy makers for implementing sustainable irrigation policies

Abordaje del embarazo adolescente, a partir de las practicas preprofesionales en un Centro de salud tipo C, de la ciudad de Guayaquil 2024
La sistematización se centró en abordar el embarazo adolescente en un centro de salud tipo C en Guayaquil, utilizando un enfoque integral que incluyó intervenciones preprofesionales de estudiantes de psicología. A través de entrevistas semiestructuradas y grupos focales, se identificaron factores de riesgo como problemas económicos, falta de apoyo familiar, y barreras para acceder a servicios de salud. Estos problemas afectan significativamente el bienestar físico y emocional de las adolescentes, quienes además enfrentan altos niveles de ansiedad y depresión. Los resultados del estudio subrayan la necesidad de fortalecer las redes de apoyo y mejorar el acceso a servicios psicosociales y educativos para reducir las complicaciones asociadas con el embarazo adolescente. A pesar de las dificultades encontradas, como la resistencia inicial de algunas adolescentes a participar en las actividades grupales, el proyecto logró proporcionar un espacio seguro para que las jóvenes compartieran sus experiencias y recibieran apoyo. Esto permitió una mejor comprensión de las necesidades de las adolescentes y destacó la importancia de intervenciones personalizadas y sostenibles en contextos vulnerables.The project focused on addressing adolescent pregnancy in a Type C health center in Guayaquil, utilizing an integrated approach that included pre-professional interventions by psychology students. Through semi-structured interviews and focus groups, risk factors such as economic problems, lack of family support, and barriers to accessing health services were identified. These issues significantly impact the physical and emotional well-being of adolescents, who also face high levels of anxiety and depression. The study's results underscore the need to strengthen support networks and improve access to psychosocial and educational services to reduce the complications associated with adolescent pregnancy. Despite challenges such as initial resistance from some adolescents to participate in group activities, the project successfully provided a safe space for the young women to share their experiences and receive support. This allowed for a better understanding of the adolescents' needs and highlighted the importance of personalized and sustainable interventions in vulnerable contexts

The present investigation was focused on the stimulation of language to promote the development of communication skills in children from 2 to 3 years of age, taking into consideration that language is a transcendental element for children to interact, communicate and learn, for which , by not correctly developing communication skills, their learning and development can be restricted. The objective of the research was to strengthen the language through didactic activities for the development of communication skills in children from 2 to 3 years of age of the CNH -Mi Pequeño Mundo of the Mulliquindil Santa Ana parish.La presente investigación estuvo enfocada en la estimulación del lenguaje para fomentar el desarrollo de las habilidades comunicativas en niños de 2 a 3 años, tomando en consideración que el lenguaje es un elemento trascendental para que los niños interactúen, se comuniquen y aprendan, por lo cual, al no desarrollar correctamente las habilidades comunicativas se puede restringir su aprendizaje y desarrollo.
