The fragmented model is a curriculum where learning materials are presented in the form of subjects or subjects that are intact without any relation to other subjects. A different teacher teaches each subject and may be a different space. The Fragmented model is an approach to teaching and learning a whole subject without linking with other subjects. It is suitable for use with an independent curriculum in elementary schools where each subject is separate. For example, in learning Indonesian language there are five aspects, namely: Speaking, writing, listening, reading, and literary appreciation. In the implementation of learning Indonesian these five aspects are recommended thoroughly in accordance with the planned curriculum

In this study it was found that the teacher in the process of learning the independent curriculum still used the lecture method. This is due to the teacher's lack of understanding about the use of differentiated learning models using learning models. The purpose of this study was to determine the increase in learning outcomes and student interest through differentiated learning with problem-based models in social studies class V. The research method used was Classroom Action Research (CAR) with two cycles and each cycle carried out in four stages, namely: 1) planning ; 2) implementation; 3) observation; and 4) reflection. The results of this study showed that the average student learning interest increased by 1 point, the average individual formative assessment results increased by 19 points, and the average group work results increased by 16 points. In conclusion, in this study the teacher succeeded in increasing learning outcomes and student learning interest through differentiated learning with a problem-solving-based learning model in social studies lessons in Class V SDN 12 Padanglua
