Teaching Literary Translation on the Basis of the Literary Text's Cognitive Discourse Analysis
AbstractThe traditional approaches to discourse's definition, the role of cognitive linguistics in work with literary texts on foreign languages and the translation lessons, the theoretical bases of discourse analysis, and also study of the text through a prism of cognitive approach are shown in our research paper. The method of teaching literary translation on the basis of cognitive discourse analysis of the text is also presented, given its scientific justification, which is efficiency confirmed in practice as a result of shown skilled and experimental work. Also, the system of the exercises and tasks directed on the formation of the corresponding competences is described in our research paper
Consecutive interpreting training in groups of foreign students by means of LCT and ICT technologies
This paper focuses on teaching consecutive interpreting to foreign students (in Chinese-English language pair), by means of the use of new linguistic computer technologies (LCT) and information and communication technologies (ICT). These include: Moodle, MOOC, Flipped classroom, Tag cloud, Scratch, which have the potential to train and develop skills not only directly in the process of education, but also over the further professional life, regardless of the location of future linguists and interpreters
Historical Retrospective Review of Idea of University: Complementarily of Reason and Spirituality
Background: In the paper the Idea of the University and its transformations throughout the history are analysed. The content of the Idea of the University was based on understanding of spirituality when the man is upcoming to enlightening. Religion, philosophy, and education get together, when spirituality is defined as the categories and personal characteristics of a human. According to philosophy, spirituality is a non-physical way of a human being, which was granted to him as the ability of self-education. Religion understands spirituality as invariant of enlightening. The scientific-methodical apparatus of education was created to realize the potential ways for raising a person to enlightening in secular or religious schools. The spiritual aura was constantly presented at the University. Methods: A general philosophical approach and comparative historical method were used in the research. Results: Understanding the role of spirituality in the University education was absolutely manifested. The University was based on the idea of going up from individual towards the Universal Truth and Absolute Spirit. Knowledge and Truth are ideological categories of the University. Truth contained the spirituality and rational knowledge in the unity. Conclusions: The University has not lost its Idea throughout the history. The basic conclusion of the paper is that its Idea as well as its essence is the change of its criteria in response to the new historical reality
Humanitarian and Anthropologic Aspects of Tolerance
The article deals with the problem of tolerance in the prospective of modern information sociality. The method of comparativism makes it possible to find the specifics of the status of this problem at different stages of historical development. Sociocultural approach allowed us extensively consider tolerance as a way of communicative interaction between people (in the biological, social, national, cultural plans). Due to the nature of the modern type of society, its communicative ontology, tolerance is seen as a principle indifferent towards anthropological orientations in the society organization. Tolerance is a social, but not individually personal principle of life interaction between people. However, particularly this indifference gives tolerance possibility to organize society based on democracy, law and ethical norms and to saturate all forms of human interaction with the anthropological content. REGULATION OF FUNCTIONAL FOODS IN UKRAINE AND THE WORLD. PROSPECTS FOR THE USE OF POSTBIOTICS AS FUNCTIONAL INGREDIENTS
Functional food allows to individualize the characteristics and necessities of each person. Over the past few decades, the demand for products that have a positive impact on human health has exploded worldwide. The market for functional foods in developed countries is estimated at USD 300 billion, which makes this sector attractive for investment. Accordingly, the production of functional foods and ingredients needs to be regulated at the state level. There is no harmonization in the definitions of functional foods and their classification at both the global and state levels. Despite the fact that the concept and terminology of functional food and the means of achieving it is well-established, the term “functional food” is often absent in the legislative acts of countries that actively produce functional foods, and the term “health-related food” is used instead. As a rule, health-related foods are subject to quality and safety requirements that are identical to those of conventional food products. Exceptions are regulations that establish rules for labeling FFPs and statements regarding their physiological effects or the content of a particular ingredient that may affect physiological aspects. In Europe and the USA, much attention is paid to the safety of “health-related food” and the novel food products. European Food Safety Authority and the US Food and Drug Administration require sponsors to submit information on the composition of multiple batches of a product to support safety evaluations for novel foods and Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) ingredients. In Ukraine, the legal status of the terms “functional food product” and dietary supplement was regulated by Law of Ukraine 771 “On Basic Principles and Requirements for Food Safety and Quality”, but in the version of this law dated 16.01.2020, this term was excluded, the term “dietary supplement” was edited and the term “novel food product or ingredient” was included, which is related to the process of harmonization of Ukrainian and European legislation in the food sector. In 2020, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine approved Order No. 1145 “On Approval of the Requirements for Nutrition Claims and Health Claims for Food Products”, which regulates the following concepts: claims and conditions for their use; health claims allowed to be used in food labeling and advertising, except for claims about reducing the risk of diseases and claims related to the development and health of children; claims about reducing the risk of diseases and claims related to the development and health of children. Unfortunately, Ukrainian regulations do not contain claims and conditions for the use of claims about pro- and prebiotics that have GRAS status worldwide. Particular attention should be paid to the possibility of using postbiotics as functional food ingredients with immunological activity
