“We must develop strategies that give young people everywhere a real chance to find decent and productive work which will allow them to become independent and responsible young citizens” -Kofi Annan, UN Secretary- General, International Youth Dar (2003) (Ref: Arzeni. S and Mitra. J, 2008) UK has high rate of unemployment among young people. Entrepreneurship has been increasingly recognised as a source of creating jobs and empowerment, but not much attempts have been made to look it from the viewpoint of creating livelihood through entrepreneurial activities. It can also be looked upon as a tool for employing youth during recession and under severe unemployment in UK. Young people can forge a livelihood through creating an enterprise which further leads to many economic and social opportunities. Joblessness acts a push factor which propels youth to become ‘necessity entrepreneurs’ (GEM 2005). Entrepreneurship is considered as an innovative methodology to integrate youth into today’s labour market. It is accepted as an important means, an additional strategy to create jobs, improve livelihood and make young people economically independent (Schoof. U, 2006). The main aim of the report is thus to stimulate the benefits of youth entrepreneurship as a career, further on understanding the obstacles, role of mentoring in entrepreneurship and the policies and programmes to support it in UK. The report, therefore, draws the data from a variety of sources upon which the analysis is based

Social networks are at an all time high, nowadays. They make the world a smaller place to live in. People can stay in touch with friends and can make new friends on these social networks which traditionally were not possible without internet service. The possibilities provided by social networks enable vast and immediate contact. People tend to spend lot of time on the social networks like Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter peeping into their friend‟s accounts and trying to stay connected with the world. However, recently people have started closing their accounts on these famous social networks after having been irritated with the large amount of data that floods these networks. Although there are many problems associated with these social networks like: privacy issues, identity fraud, information overload, etc.; the problem that bothers people the most is that of information overload. This project provides a solution to the information overload problem by filtering all the user‟s friend‟s posts on the basis of user‟s likes without explicitly asking the user to specify their likes. The project analyzes the user\u27s posts to find out their likes, and then returns the filtered posts to them from their friends on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.Thus, this project attempts to remove noise from the huge amount of data on these social networks

It is evident that young people have been largely affected by the recession as companies have decreased their offers, complicating Youth employability and, consequently, reducing their chances to get experience and job connections. Moreover, current recruitment practices emphasise aspects which do not help and most young people today can no longer count on the prospect of a job for life‘. However, the market is changing and the picture looks quite promising. Companies financial statements have demonstrated this recovering specially in the UK and sectors such as Accounting, Investment Banking, and the Public Sector expect to recruit more graduates in 2012/2013. This report aims to understand how young people between 18-24 years old engage themselves in the UK job market and how Working for Youth‘, an initiative dedicated by Standard Chartered Bank and Experian can maximise this engagement through their online channels. Given the intricacies of youth unemployment in UK job market, what are the different ways through which youth engage while searching for jobs and vacancies? As there are few studies exploring youth attitude and behaviour regarding job search, a research was devoted to understand young people‘s experiences and difficulties during job search. The report initially used secondary data to study and examined gaps under youth unemployment. Then, through primary research, a questionnaire was elaborated in order to fill all the gaps from the literature analyses. The data from primary research was collected through semi-structured interviews to collect first-hand information. Research adopted qualitative method to ensure the depth of the information collected and a total of 20 participants were interviewed face-to-face in the month of August 2012 in Nottingham and Mansfield. The report analyses three core themes – The engagement strategies pursued by youth in UK to search jobs, their work attitude & behaviour and lastly how and if they engage themselves in seeking career advice and mentoring. According to the analysis, informal channels demonstrated to be the preferred and most effective ways used by young people to search jobs in the UK (word of mouth), a

The management of post operative patients is a multi dimensional approach of treatment. Many common problems are developed during post operative period. Pain is one of the biggest problems amongst them. Therefore, an effective pain control is very essential to manage pain for post operative patients. There are lots of analgesics available in modern medical science. But they are causing side effects to the patients. Considering above problems faced by patients, a potent, safe and effective analgesic and well known Vedanahara and Shoola prasamana drug Vrihat Panchamoola was selected for this study. In this study 50 lower segment caesarean section patients (L.S.C.S) registered from labour room of Prasutitantra Department, S.S. Hospital, I.M.S, B.H.U, Varanasi (U.P) were selected randomly and divided in two equal groups. Group-I as trial and Group-II as control group. The trial patients are given 1000mg (two capsules of 500mg each) Ghanasatwa of Vrihat Panchamoola twice daily and the control group patients have given 50 mg Diclofenac Sodium twice daily after operation when bowel sound onset. After comparative study it has been found that, the trial drug Vrihat Panchmoola Ghanasatwa has produced good analgesic response during post operative pain management of L.S.C.S, patients

Transfer: Cross Modality Knowledge Transfer using Adversarial Networks -- A Study on Gesture Recognition

Knowledge transfer across sensing technology is a novel concept that has been recently explored in many application domains, including gesture-based human computer interaction. The main aim is to gather semantic or data driven information from a source technology to classify / recognize instances of unseen classes in the target technology. The primary challenge is the significant difference in dimensionality and distribution of feature sets between the source and the target technologies. In this paper, we propose TRANSFER, a generic framework for knowledge transfer between a source and a target technology. TRANSFER uses a language-based representation of a hand gesture, which captures a temporal combination of concepts such as handshape, location, and movement that are semantically related to the meaning of a word. By utilizing a pre-specified syntactic structure and tokenizer, TRANSFER segments a hand gesture into tokens and identifies individual components using a token recognizer. The tokenizer in this language-based recognition system abstracts the low-level technology-specific characteristics to the machine interface, enabling the design of a discriminator that learns technology-invariant features essential for recognition of gestures in both source and target technologies. We demonstrate the usage of TRANSFER for three different scenarios: a) transferring knowledge across technology by learning gesture models from video and recognizing gestures using WiFi, b) transferring knowledge from video to accelerometer, and d) transferring knowledge from accelerometer to WiFi signals

This paper is an attempt to study the two stage flow shop scheduling problem in which the processing time and independent set up times of the jobs are associated with probabilities to minimize the rental cost under restrictive rental policy including equivalent job-block criteria. The study gives an optimal schedule rule in order to minimize the rental cost of machines through heuristic approach. The proposed method is very simple and easy to understand and also, provide an important tool for decision makers. To make the method effective and justified a computer program followed by a numerical illustration is given
