Plasmon assisted transmission of high dimensional orbital angular momentum entangled state
We present an experimental evidence that high dimensional orbital angular
momentum entanglement of a pair of photons can be survived after a
photon-plasmon-photon conversion. The information of spatial modes can be
coherently transmitted by surface plasmons. This experiment primarily studies
the high dimensional entangled systems based on surface plasmon with
subwavelength structures. It maybe useful in the investigation of spatial mode
properties of surface plasmon assisted transmission through subwavelength hole

Projection Measurement of the Maximally Entangled N-Photon State for a Demonstration of N-Photon de Broglie Wavelength
We construct a projection measurement process for the maximally entangled
N-photon state (the NOON-state) with only linear optical elements and
photodetectors. This measurement process will give null result for any N-photon
state that is orthogonal to the NOON state. We examine the projection process
in more detail for N=4 by applying it to a four-photon state from type-II
parametric down-conversion. This demonstrates an orthogonal projection
measurement with a null result. This null result corresponds to a dip in a
generalized Hong-Ou-Mandel interferometer for four photons. We find that the
depth of the dip in this arrangement can be used to distinguish a genuine
entangled four-photon state from two separate pairs of photons. We next apply
the NOON state projection measurement to a four-photon superposition state from
two perpendicularly oriented type-I parametric down-conversion processes. A
successful NOON state projection is demonstrated with the appearance of the
four-photon de Broglie wavelength in the interference fringe pattern.Comment: 8 pages, 3 figures, new title, some content change, replaced Fig.
Possible Weyl fermions in the magnetic Kondo system CeSb
Materials where the electronic bands have unusual topologies allow for the
realization of novel physics and have a wide range of potential applications.
When two electronic bands with linear dispersions intersect at a point, the
excitations could be described as Weyl fermions which are massless particles
with a particular chirality. Here we report evidence for the presence of Weyl
fermions in the ferromagnetic state of the low-carrier density, strongly
correlated Kondo lattice system CeSb, from electronic structure calculations
and angle-dependent magnetoresistance measurements. When the applied magnetic
field is parallel to the electric current, a pronounced negative
magnetoresistance is observed within the ferromagnetic state, which is
destroyed upon slightly rotating the field away. These results give evidence
for CeSb belonging to a new class of Kondo lattice materials with Weyl fermions

Entanglement detection beyond the CCNR criterion for infinite-dimensions
In this paper, in terms of the relation between the state and the reduced
states of it, we obtain two inequalities which are valid for all separable
states in infinite-dimensional bipartite quantum systems. One of them provides
an entanglement criterion which is strictly stronger than the computable
cross-norm or realignment (CCNR) criterion.Comment: 11 page

In the combinatorial study of the coefficients of a bivariate polynomial that
generalizes both the length and the reflection length generating functions for
finite Coxeter groups, Petersen introduced a new Mahonian statistic ,
called the sorting index. Petersen proved that the pairs of statistics
and have the same joint distribution over
the symmetric group, and asked for a combinatorial proof of this fact. In
answer to the question of Petersen, we observe a connection between the sorting
index and the B-code of a permutation defined by Foata and Han, and we show
that the bijection of Foata and Han serves the purpose of mapping

Foata-Han bijection, and we derive the quidistribution of and over signed
permutations. So we get a combinatorial interpretation of Petersen's

Experimental investigation of piloted flameholders
Four configurations of piloted flameholders were tested. The range of flame stabilization, flame propagation, pressure oscillation during ignition, and pressure drop of the configurations were determined. Some tests showed a very strong effect of inlet flow velocity profile and flameholder geometry on flame stabilization. These tests led to the following conclusions. (1) The use of a piloted flameholder in the turbofan augmentor may minimize the peak pressure rise during ignition. At the present experimental conditions, delta P/P asterisk over 2 is less than 10 percent; therefore, the use of a piloted flameholder is a good method to realize soft ignition. (2) The geometry of the piloted flameholder and the amount of fuel injected into the flameholder have a strong effect on the pressure oscillation during ignition of the fuel-air mixture in the secondary zone. (3) Compared with the V-gutter flameholder with holes in its wall, the V-gutter flameholder without holes not only has advantages such as simple structure and good rigidity but offers a wide combustion stability limit and a high capability of igniting the fuel-air mixture of the secondary zone
