Genetic and Phenotypic Parameters of Body Weight in Ettawa Grade Goats

The aim of this study was to estimate genetic and phenotypic parameters of growth traits consisting of birth weight (BW), weaning weight (WW), 6 mo body weight (6WM), 12 mo body weight (12WM), and 18 mo body weight (18WM) of Ettawa Grade goats. The number of goat used to determine growth traits of BW, WW, 6WM, 12WM, and 18WM were 316; 316; 259; 259 and 165 heads, respectively. Data were analyzed using General Linear Model (GLM) to identify non-genetic effect. Estimation of genetic and phenotypic parameters including heritability, repeatability, genetic and phenotypic correlation were calculated using Restricted Maximum Likelihood and GLM. Genetic trends were calculated using the regression of mean breeding values on birth year. The results showed that parity and type of birth had significant (P<0.05) influence on all growth traits. Estimated heritability of birth, weaning, 6WM, 12WM, and 18WM were 0.54±0.12; 0.35±0.07; 0.37±0.09; 0.68±0.16 and 0.63±0.19, respectively. Estimated repeatability of WW, 6WM, 12WM and 18WM, WW, 6WM, 12WM and 18WM were 0.98±0.01; 0.97±0.01; 0.94±0.03; 0.71±0.12 and 0.91±0.04, respectively. The genetic trends for traits of BW and 18MW were decreased fluctuatively. However, the WW, 6MW, 12MW were increased fluctuatively. The high and positive genetic correlations between all growth traits and 12WM traits in this study indicated that selection for high 12WM will improve genetic merit in Ettawa Grade goats

By having this training material, ibis Surabaya City Center Hotel will gain three benefits. Firstly, this training material will help the Front Office staffers at ibis Surabaya City Center Hotel to support their work performance. Secondly, this training material can help the Front Office staffers to improve their English skill since it is written in English. Finally, this training material can help Front Office staffers to give the best possible service to the hotel's guests

Codes Used by Two Pairs of Identical Twins

This study is about the codes used by two pairs of identical twins to their co-twin in their daily conversation. It is supported by Wardaugh's (2006) and Stromswold's theories (2004) of codes and language development. The data was gathered from the utterances produced in the given role plays. The findings reveal that seven types of codes were used by these pairs of twins. The similarities are all of them did not use secret language and both pairs mostly used Indonesian codes. The differences are the frequency of each code used and in general, Pair 2 is more formal than Pair 1. In conclusion, having Javanese parents does not always mean using Javanese codes when communicating with others and although they are twins, they do not always use similar codes. These differences might happen because of the differences in religion and travel experience

Pedoman Simbol Hari Baik dan Hari Buruk Masyarakat Bugis di Kota Kendari

Hampir semua aktivitas masyarakat Bugis Kendari dimulai dengan mempertimbangkan kualitas waktu yang dikenal dengan istilah hari baik dan hari buruk. Kualitas waktu ini memiliki pedoman dan menggunakan simbol-simbol tertentu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji simbol hari baik dan hari buruk masyarakat Bugis Kota Kendari. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara mendalam dan observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pedoman simbol hari baik dan hari buruk masyarakat Bugis di Kota Kendari diklasifikasi menjadi sebelas, yaitu (1) simbol bahasa Arab, (2) simbol matematika, (3) simbol tulisan tangan, (4) Simbol lontara Bugis, (5) simbol lontara Bugis dan gambar, (6) simbol aksara Soewandi, (7) simbol hewan, (8) simbol bintang, (9) simbol bendera, (10) simbol Haji Daud, dan (11) simbol Hj. Nursiah. Penelitian ini akhinrya menegaskan bahwa simbol pedoman ini merepresentasikan masyarakat bugis Kendari yang penuh perencanaan dan memiliki rasa optimisme untuk menggapai hasil maksimal sebuah aktivitas. Almost all activities of the Bugis Kendari community begin by considering the quality of time known as good days and bad days. This quality of time has guidelines and uses certain symbols. This study aims to examine the symbols of good days and bad days of the Bugis people of Kendari city. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with a case study method. Data collection is done by in-depth interviews and observations. The results showed that the guideline of the symbol of good days and bad days of Bugis people in Kendari city was classified into eleven, (1) Arabic symbols, (2) mathematical symbols, (3) handwriting symbols, (4) Bugis symbol, (5 ) Bugis symbols and drawings, (6) Soewandi alphabet symbols, (7) animal symbols, (8) star symbols, (9) flag symbols, (10) Haji Daud symbols, and (11) Hj. Nursiah symbols. This research finally emphasizes that the symbol of this guideline represents the Bugis Kendari community which is full of planning and has a sense of optimism to achieve the maximum results of an activity

Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pornoteks dalam lirik lagudangdut sebagai sebuah refleksi pendidikan karakter masa kini.Pornoteks adalah lirik lagu dangdut yang memuat bahasa vulgaryang sangat berkaitan dengan hubungan seksual dan ceritaporno sehingga pembaca seakan menyaksikan, merasakankejadian hubungan seksual tersebut. Lirik lagu ini sangat dikenaloleh masyarakat luas, mulai anak-anak hingga orang dewasa.Dengan menggunakan teori semiotik dengan pendekatan analisisisi dan metode deskriptif kualitatif ditemukan hasil bahwa liriklagu dangdut yang mengandung pornoteks adalah kuhamilduluan, maaf kuhamil duluan, mobil bergoyang, ada yangpanjang ada yang pendek, wanita lubang buaya, paling suka,perawan atau janda, dan belah duren. Meneropong Teks dalam Konteks: Katekimus Heidelberg P/J 53

Katekismus Heidelberg merupakan salah satu warisan tradisi iman Reformed yang memuat pengajaran yang begitu kaya dan limpah mengenai doktrin Allah Roh Kudus. Secara eksplisit, pengajaran tentang doktrin Allah Roh Kudus dalam Katekismus Heidelberg memang hanya terdapat dalam P/J 53. Namun, hal ini tidak berarti bahwa pengajaran doktrin Allah Roh Kudus dalam Katekismus Heidelberg hanya termaktub di dalam bagian ini saja. Tulisan ini mencoba menganalisis kekayaan doktrin Allah Roh Kudus, secara khusus P/J 53, dalam tiga konteks: konteks masa lalu yang menjadi latar belakang terbentuknya Katekismus Heidelberg, konteks makro dan mikro P/J 53 secara tekstual, dan relevansinya bagi konteks masa kini, khususnya Indonesia. It contains a rich strain of doctrine pertaining to the doctrine of the Holy Spirit. Explicitly, within the Heidelberg Catechism, the teaching regarding the doctrine of the Holy Spirit as a Member of the Godhead is found only in Question/Answer 53. Of course, this does not mean that the only teaching on the subject of the doctrine of the Holy Spirit within the Heidelberg Catechism is recorded in this section alone. The purpose of this essay is an attempt to conduct an analysis of the doctrine of the Holy Spirit, specifically Q/A 53, from three different contexts: the historical setting which reflects the historical context in which the Heidelberg Catechism was formulated, a macro and micro textual analysis of Q/A 53 within the context of the Heidelberg Catechism, and finally, the relevancy of the document for the contemporary context, especially focusing upon the Indonesian context. Perangkat Lunak Segmentasi Citra dengan Metode Watershed

Metode watershed merupakan salah satu metode dalam segmentasi citra yang membagi citra menjadi region yang berbeda dengan menggambarkan citra sebagai relief topografi. Metode watershed menghasilkan terlalu banyak region yang menyebabkan bagian penting objek terpisah atau disebut oversegmentasi, sehingga perlu dilakukan pengembangan metode. Cara mengurangi oversegmentasi pada metode watershed dapat meliputi watershed dengan memanfaatkan perbedaan gradien untuk menentukan arah dari kemiringan topografi, penambahan marker yang dapat digunakan untuk mensegmentasi sebagian objek yang dipilih, serta dengan menggunakan multiresolusi yang mengurangi oversegmentasi dengan skala ruang. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan perangkat lunak yang mampu melakukan proses segmentasi citra dengan menggunakan metode watershed beserta perbedaannya dengan watershed morfologi, marker watershed, dan multiresolusi watershed.
