    APPLICATION OF SOCIODRAMA TECHNIQUES TO IMPROVE EMPATHY OF JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

    ABSTRACTThe research conducted aims to determine the effectiveness of sociodrama techniques to improve empathy for junior high school students in Kediri City, East Java Province, Indonesia. This study used a pre-experimental design with a type of One Group Pretest and Posttest design. The research subjects were junior high school students who had low empathy and numbered 13 students. The collected data was analyzed by different Wilcoxon tests. The results showed that the effective sociodrama technique to increase empathy for junior high school students with an average grade value after being given treatment was higher than the average rating before being given treatment and the results of the warranty test showed differences between the results of the pretest and posttest. The wilcoxon value is (z = -3.182a) with the value of Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) for the two-tailed test is 0.001. From the results of the analysis below 0.05. (0.001 <0.05) then H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, it can be concluded that the sociodrama technique is effective for increasing the empathy of the junior high school students. Key Words: Sociodrama Technique, Empathy, Junior High School Student

    Artikel ini mendeskripsikan dan membahas tentang bagaimana membangun karakter bangsa Indonesia, politik identitas pendidikan di Indonesia, dan pembentukan karakter bangsa Indonesia. Karakter bangsa Indonesia sudah digagas pertama kali oleh presiden Soekarno lewat refleksi fal- safah Pancasila yang menyatakan bahwa bangsa Indonesia adalah bangsa yang besar dan untuk membangun bangsa yang besar perlu kerja keras, gotong royong, dedikasi tinggi untuk negeri ini. Selain itu, presiden Soeharto melalui P4 juga menggagas karakter bangsa Indonesia lewat Pan- casila bahwa karakteristik bangsa Indonesia ialah individu yang mampu mengamalkan falsafah Pancasila karena Pancasila merupakan cermin kepribadian bangsa Indonesia. Soekarno dan Soe- harto setuju bahwa Pancasila merupakan dasar negara Indonesia serta dijadikan sebagai pedoman karakter bagi Masyarakat Indonesia. Karakter merupakan salah satu ekspektasi karena menjadi penopang perilaku seseorang yang seyogyanya karakter tidak terbentuk secara instan. Diperlukan proses yang sangat lama dan berkesinambungan supaya karakter bisa menjadi bagian dari integral dalam diri individu. Melalui pancasila, bisa mendedar kearifan nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter agar menjadi manusia indonesia seutuhnya (MIS). Kata Kunci: Karakter, Bangsa Indonesi

    Application of Jigsaw Learning Strategy to Develop Personal Characteristic Prospective Counselors in Department of Guidance and Counseling, Universitas Nusantara PGRI Kediri

    ABSTRACTThe initial observational data of researchers at the IV level in Department of Guidance and Counseling, Universitas Nusantara PGRI Kediri showed three aspects of the candidate's personal characteristics, namely empathy, unconditional acceptance, and sincerity. The researcher interpreted the lack of development of the three aspects because the lecturing process had often been expository, which paid little attention to the organization of learning experiences, so that the material that had been obtained was simply forgotten. The use of jigsaw learning is expected to be able to become learning that is able to facilitate the organization of student learning experiences, so as to be able to develop three aspects of these characteristics. This classroom action research takes place in three cycles. The results obtained during the implementation of the research in the cycle 1 showed that the average empathy, acceptance without conditions and graduation, was still at the "low" level. In the cycle 2 study it was found that the average of three characteristics was at the level of "moderate". While in the cycle 3 study it was found that the three characteristic aspects had reached the level of 'high'. However, some students are still not able to get used to fully applying the three aspects of personal characteristics. Key Words: Jigsaw Learning Strategy, Personal Characteristic, Prospective Counselor

    DEVELOPING HANDBOOK OF SOCIODRAMA TO IMPROVE INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATION SKILLS FOR JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

    This development study is to produce a handbook of sociodrama to improve the interpersonal communication skills of junior high school students in the City of Kediri as one of the techniques that counselors can use in providing personal-social guidance services that are theoretically and practically acceptable. This research is a development research that uses the model of Borg and Gall (1983). The development procedures carried out are as follows: stage 1 (planning), stage 2 (product development), stage 3 (product testing), stage 4 (product revision results of expert judgment results), stage 5 (test prospective product users), stage 6 (limited product trial (small group test)), and stage 7 (final product handbook of sociodrama to improving interpersonal communication skills). Based on the results of the analysis of the assessment of experts and prospective product users as well as the revisions that have been carried out according to suggestions and input on the handbook of sociodrama to improve high school interpersonal communication skills, it can be concluded that the guidance for counselors is very feasible, very clear, very useful, very easy, very precise, very interesting theoretically.  Article visualizations

    USING SOLUTION FOCUSED BRIEF COUNSELING TO REDUCE AXIENTY IN FACING THE EXAMINATION OF VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

    ABSTRACTVocational high school students are in the late adolescent development phase. One of the characteristics of late adolescents is emotional instability, which is indicated by anxiety in the face of exams. Considering anxiety can hamper student academic achievement, there is a need for assistance through a Solution Focus Concise Counseling approach. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Solution Focused Brief Counseling to reduce anxiety in facing exams for vocational high school students. This study uses an experimental research design with a single subject design. The form of research design used is Baseline (A1) à Intervention (B) à Baseline (A2). The subjects of this study were 6 students of class XII vocational high school (SMKN 1 Kota Kediri). Data were collected using anxiety scales, observation guidelines, and interview guidelines. Data analysis using visual data analysis, and statistical analysis of the Wilcoxon matched-pairs signed-ranks test. The results of the study showed that Solution Focused Brief Counseling effectively reduced student anxiety in facing the exam. This approach focuses on helping students set goals and solutions, foster a sense of optimism, and foster student motivation to change their behavior through various techniques used in Solution Focused Brief Counseling, so that the anxiety problems experienced can be immediately addressed. Based on research findings and discussions it is recommended for the counselor should use the Solution Focused Brief Counseling approach in reducing student anxiety when facing exams. For counselees, can help to reduce anxiety facing the test experienced by them.     ABSTRACTThis article discusses (1) a brief introduction to “Lakon Marifat Dewa Ruci”, (2) Outline of “Lakon Marifat Dewa Ruci”, (3) Analysis of “Lakon Marifat Dewa Ruci”, (4) Implications of “Lakon Marifat Dewa Ruci” in the guidance and counseling service during Covid-19. Guidance and counseling services should still be implemented even in situations that are not conducive. In this case, guidance and counseling services are associated with analytical studies about “Lakon Marifat Dewa Ruci”. In the play, there are several fragments of stories that can be interpreted in the guidance and counseling services during the Covid-19 pandemic. In “Lakon Marifat Dewa Ruci”, there are several discourses (advice) that can make individuals more active in seeking knowledge, behaving commendably (well) in accordance with applicable rules and norms, and virtuous character.     IMPROVING SELF CONFIDENCE USING BIBLIOTHERAPY TECHNIQUES FOR JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

    ABSTRACTThe article is based on the results of research and research experience, that individuals who have low self-esteem have negative feelings towards themselves. This hat is a barrier to its own ability to form a relationship between individuals and become a barrier to learning. This can be seen from the behavior, the attitude of students who are afraid, excessive embarrassment, insecurity, more trusting friends' answers when working on assignments. This study uses a quantitative approach with a single subject design (SDD) research design, the subject of research is junior high school students in Kediri City. This study was carried out in two sessions, namely using instruments such as observation sheets, story sheets, reflection sheets. The data shows that bibliotherapy intervention is effective, this is indicated by significant changes, meaning that there is a change or improve in the subject's confidence after the intervention is carried out in the baseline phase 1 (AI), intervention phase (B), and baseline phase 2 (A2). Conclusions (1) students of class VII who were the subject of research had low self-confidence before being given intervention and after being given intervention addressed the improve in students' self-confidence feeling, (2) intervention using bibliotherapy to improve self-confidence of students of junior high school in Kediri City could be declared successful and effective. Key Words: Self-confidence, Bibliotherapy techniqu

    IDENTIFICATION OF SELF POSITION AND BASIC ATTITUDE OF COUNSELORS BY SEMAR TEXT (Study Analysis OF Hermeneutik Gadamerian)

    The purpose of this study are to know: (1) self-position of counselor which was adopted from the text of Semar, (2) The basic attitude which was adopting from the text of Semar, (3) The technic for communicating base attitude of counselor are using the metaphor in counseling. This research uses the Qualitative approach by Gadamerian hermeneutic method. Gadamerian hermeneutics is a kind of objective hermeneutic research (Objectivist hermeneutics). Gadamerian hermeneutics unifying thought is contained in a hermeneutic circle pattern. The circle consists of a pattern of up and down between the parts (part) and overall (whole) to understand the meaning of a text. The Data of research are including two texts such as what and who Semar is? (Mulyono, 1978) and Semar as spiritual world of Javanese (Sumukti, 2006), data of interview with Ki Manteb Sudarsono, Ki Purbo Asmoro, S.Kar., M.Hum and Dra. Sri Saptaningsih, MM and data watching the video of wayang. The result of research show that self-position of counselor which was adopted from the text of Semar are: (1) advicer, (2) motivator, (3) deterrent, (4) servant. The basic attitude which was adopting from the text of Semar are: (1) hospitable, (2) wise, (3) honest, (4) care.     Semar: A Personal Model for Counselors

    Semar is an Indonesian wayang figure, a servant to other wayang characters Pandawa. Semar's personality is shown as a good, wise and wise individual, so he is suitable to be used as a counselor's personality model. This qualitative study applied Gadamerian hermeneutics, an objective type of hermeneutic research. The primary data in this study were texts discussing Semar, namely “Apa dan Siapa Semar” by Sri Mulyono and “Semar Dunia Batin Orang Jawa” by Tuti Sumukti. The data were also collected through an interview with Indonesian wayang expert, Ki Manteb Sudarsono.
