Ruptured Unilateral Twin Tubal Ectopic Pregnancy. Case Report of an Oddity & Literature Review
Background: An ectopic pregnancy (EP) is a type of conception in which, the fertilized egg is lodged outside the uterine cavity. Twin ectopic pregnancies are a rarity, and the reported cases of twin tubal pregnancies are a handful to date.Case Report: We report a case of a 35 years old patient who presented to the emergency with the complaint of lower abdominal pain and intermittent vaginal discharge. She was diagnosed with twin tubal alive gestation, underwent exploratory laparotomy and right salpingectomy. Conclusion: Ectopic pregnancy can occur even in the absence of known risk factors. Its incidence is on the rise. It is a leading cause of first-trimester maternal deaths and can be easily diagnosed with Beta HCG levels and transvaginal ultrasound
Distortion and electric field control of band structure of silicene
Density functional theory with local density approximation for exchange and
correlation functional is used to tune the electronic band structure of
silicene monolayer. The cohesive energy of free standing monolayer is
increasing (decreasing) with external electric field (distortion). Electrons in
silicene behave like Dirac fermions, when the bond angle between the Si atoms
is larger than . Large distortions destroy the electronic
structure of silicene and silicene is no longer a semi-metallic material, and
the distorted silicene acts like an -doped system. Electric field opens a
band gap around point in the Brillouin zone, which increases with electric
field. The bond angle between the Si atoms is a key player to determine the
presence or absence of Dirac cones in silicene.Comment: Europhysics Lett. Accepted (2014
A Calculus of Mobility and Communication for Ubiquitous Computing
We propose a Calculus of Mobility and Communication (CMC) for the modelling
of mobility, communication and context-awareness in the setting of ubiquitous
computing. CMC is an ambient calculus with the in and out capabilities of
Cardelli and Gordon's Mobile Ambients. The calculus has a new form of global
communication similar to that in Milner's CCS. In CMC an ambient is tagged with
a set of ports that agents executing inside the ambient are allowed to
communicate on. It also has a new context-awareness feature that allows
ambients to query their location. We present reduction semantics and labelled
transition system semantics of CMC and prove that the semantics coincide. A new
notion of behavioural equivalence is given by defining capability barbed
bisimulation and congruence which is proved to coincide with barbed
bisimulation congruence. The expressiveness of the calculus is illustrated by
two case studies.Comment: In Proceedings WWV 2015, arXiv:1508.0338
Is external debt an effective way of bringing economic reforms?
This paper investigates the adverse effects of external debt on economic performance. In order to cater the issue of errors in mathematical model developed to analyze the correlation, this paper deals by performing a hypothetical analysis on economic growth within a country at different levels of external debt. The analysis is done on all sectors at the same time to ensure maximum accuracy. The paper concludes that debt itself is not an effective way of helping underdeveloped countries. This study adds in finding effective means which will allow underdeveloped countries to get a foothold on the development ladder of economy.External Debt; Growth; Pakistan Economy; Debt overhang; Crowding out
