This article presents a model for the evaluation of scientific research output from the standpoint of university engagement with the socio-economic environment based on a scientometric analysis of topical areas. The primary aim was to examine various interrelations between conventional and alternative scientometric indicators that most clearly reflect the relationship between universities, industry and society. Three countries and five topical research areas were chosen as the object of the study. A comparative analysis showed that conventional scientometric indicators correlate quite well with the indicators of social and commercial relevance of scientific research. However, since this relationship was not observed in the case of Brazil, an assumption was made about the influence of the national and disciplinary context. The evaluation of university engagement cannot be performed based exclusively on quantitative indicators, thus requiring qualitative assessment, e. g. peer review

Physical Libration of the Moon: An Extended Problem

    No full text
© 2021, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd. Abstract: The work is devoted to the study of the physical libration of the Moon. Interest in the traditional topic related to the rotation of the Moon is stirred up by the activity of many countries regarding the development of circumlunar space. Scientifically, the main agenda is to consider the viscosity of the core. At this stage of the theory development, such effects as indirect and direct perturbations from the planets were considered, the 4th order harmonic was included in the gravitational potential of the Moon, and the mean tidal potential was also considered. The inclusion of the described effects in the equations of the Moon’s rotation led to a significant improvement in the solution when compared with the corresponding data from the DE421 theory, although the residual differences still remain greater than the 1 ms accuracy required by the theory. The influence of the direct effect from the planets was milliseconds. The influence of the 4th harmonic manifested itself as a systematic shift of the order of 0.85'' in the residual differences in libration in longitude. Considering the tide made it possible to reduce the residual differences in latitude by almost an order of magnitude. In this case, the main factor that reduces the residual differences is changes in the second-order Stokes coefficients. The calculations were carried out using the DE421 ephemeris built at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory

Search for the decay B0K0τ+τB^{0}\rightarrow K^{\ast 0}\tau^{+}\tau^{-} at the Belle experiment

    No full text
This letter presents a search for the rare flavor-changing neutral current process B0K0τ+τB^{0}\rightarrow K^{\ast 0}\tau^{+}\tau^{-} using data taken with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric energy e+ee^{+}e^{-} collider. The analysis is based on the entire Υ(4S)\Upsilon(4S) resonance data sample of 711 fb1\rm fb^{-1}, corresponding to 772×106BBˉ772\times 10^{6} B \bar{B} pairs. In our search we fully reconstruct the companion BB meson produced in the process e+eΥ(4S)BBˉe^{+}e^{-}\rightarrow\Upsilon(4S)\rightarrow B\bar{B} from its hadronic decay modes, and look for the decay B0K0τ+τB^{0}\rightarrow K^{\ast 0}\tau^{+}\tau^{-} in the rest of the event. No evidence for a signal is found. We report an upper limit on the branching fraction B(B0K0τ+τ)<2.0×103\mathcal{B}({B^{0}\rightarrow K^{\ast 0}\tau^{+}\tau^{-}})<2.0\times 10^{-3} at 90% confidence level. This is the first direct limit on B(B0K0τ+τ)\mathcal{B}({B^{0}\rightarrow K^{\ast 0}\tau^{+}\tau^{-}})

International audienceWe report the results of the first search for the decay Bs0→η′KS0 using 121.4  fb-1 of data collected at the ϒ(5S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider. We observe no signal and set a 90% confidence-level upper limit of 8.16×10-6 on the Bs0→η′KS0 branching fraction

    Study of χbJ(nP)ωΥ(1S)\chi_{bJ}(nP) \rightarrow \omega \Upsilon(1S) at Belle

    No full text
We report results from a study of hadronic transitions of the χbJ(nP)\chi_{bJ}(nP) states of bottomonium at Belle. The PP-wave states are reconstructed in transitions to the Υ(1S)\Upsilon(1S) with the emission of an ω\omega meson. The transitions of the n=2n=2 triplet states provide a unique laboratory in which to study nonrelativistic quantum chromodynamics, as the kinematic threshold for production of an ω\omega and Υ(1S)\Upsilon(1S) lies between the J=0J=0 and J=1J=1 states. A search for the χbJ(3P)\chi_{bJ}(3P) states is also reported

Measurement of the BB^{-} \rightarrow DD0^{0}\ell^{-}νˉ\bar{\nu}_{\ell} Branching Fraction in 62.8 fb1^{-1} of Belle II data

    No full text
We report a measurement of the branching fraction of the semileptonic decay BB^{-} \rightarrow DD0^{0}\ell^{-}νˉ\bar{\nu}_{\ell} (and its charge conjugate) using 62.8 fb1^{-1} of Υ\Upsilon(4SS) \rightarrow BBBˉ\bar{B} data recorded by the Belle II experiment at the SuperKEKB asymmetric-energy ee+^{+} ee^{-} collider. The neutral charm meson is searched for in the decay mode DD0^{0} \rightarrow KK^{-} π\pi+^{+} and combined with a properly charged identified lepton (electron or muon) to reconstruct this decay. No reconstruction of the second BB meson in the Υ\Upsilon(4SS) event is performed. We obtain BB(DD0^{0}\ell^{-}νˉ\bar{\nu}_{\ell}) = (2.29 ±\pm 0.05 stat_{stat} ±\pm 0.08syst_{syst}, in agreement with the world average of this decay. We also determine the ratio of the electron to muon branching fractions to be RR(ee/μ\mu) = 1.04 ±\pm 0.05stat_{stat} ±\pm 0.03syst_{syst} and observe no deviation from lepton universality
