Designing socially acceptable mHealth technologies for Parkinson's disease self-management
Mobile health (mHealth) technologies for Parkinsonâs disease management have developed quickly in recent years. Research in this area typically focuses on evaluation of the accuracy and reliability of the technology, often to the exclusion of social factors and patient perspectives. This qualitative systematic review aimed to investigate the barriers to and facilitators of use mHealth technologies for disease self-management from the perspective of People with Parkinson's (PwP). Findings revealed that technological, as well as social, and financial factors are key considerations for mHealth design, to ensure its acceptability, and long-term use by PwP. This study proposes that a co-design approach could contribute to the design and development of mHealth that are socially acceptable to PwP, and enable their successful long-term use in the context of daily life.Mobile health (mHealth) technologies for Parkinsonâs disease management have developed quickly in recent years.
In numerous organizational contexts, workers use their bodies and their senses to guide themselves, in the conduct of their everyday activity. Certain studies focus on social interactions through which « sensible knowledge » is generated and shaped by organizational members. Following the work initiated by these studies, our objective in this paper is to analyze and understand how « sensible knowledge » is interactionally constituted and formalized as a means to sustain knowing. To do so, we conducted an organizational ethnography in a firm of land surveyors
We present here the results of a study among healthcare providers using PCs in home care settings. Based on a series of interviews, we apply the notion of âterritoireâ (ground) in order to show how the presence of the laptop computer in home care changes the work environment of the caregiver, influencing also in some way the relationship between the provider and the patient. The PC transforms the practice structure of caregivers and their work context. The computer changes therefore the relations between individuals, acting as a mediator between the caregiver and the patient, reminding us that this new interaction dynamic questions the rituals and the ground of interaction
Contemporary organisations develops the action and the urgency. Consequently, the control of time become an important stake for organisations who wants to survive, in the goal of maintain their adaptation to this new socio-cultural rhythm. New forms of management being based on the ICT make it possible to the employees at the same time more autonomous and to be controlled. Today, a form of « distance Taylorism » exists. However, the employees react differently to the flexibility and pressure of time. Indeed, some peoples play the game of the « time-based competition », but others try to resist the pressure of time

Exploring a Mediterranean mesozooplankton 13 year time-series.
Zooplankton plays diverse crucial roles within the marine ecosystem and can also be used as bio- indicator of climate changes since it is very sensitive to environmental changes. Therefore it is essential to consider long-term plankton series. Given the analysis of plankton samples is time- consuming, it requires an effective and rapid analytical method. We have used in this work a supervised learning approach adapted for the semi-automatic classification of digital images of the mesozooplankton of the Bay of Calvi (Corsica, France) by using the Zoo/PhytoImage software. Together with a 11-years long zooplankton time-series, a set of nine environmental variables were monitored in order to identify controlling factors and determine whether the communities were sensitive to global environmental changes. The main components of the mesozooplankton community were characterized by both seasonal and inter-annual variability. Additionally, variation of holoplankton and meroplankton differentiated one from each other. The holoplanktonic community could be split into two subgroups according to its variation in function of the environment: cladocerans and appendicularians, and to a lesser extent, copepods on one hand, and cnidarians, chaetognathes and thaliaceans, on the other hand. Regarding inter-annual variation, one year (2007) showed particularly low production of total zooplankton which was also the case for all the different holoplanktonic taxa. Accounting for that phenomenon were identified some potentially underlying environmental factors. Finally, although water temperature increased significantly over the last years along with the frequency of marine heat wave events, no evident change in the global zooplankton composition was observed yet.STARECAPME
