Behaviour of the Blazar CTA 102 during two giant outbursts
Blazar CTA 102 underwent exceptional optical and high-energy outbursts in 2012 and 2016-2017. We analyze its behaviour during these events, focusing on polarimetry as a tool that allows us to trace changes in the physical conditions and geometric configuration of the emission source close to the central black hole. We also use Fermi gamma-ray data in conjunction with optical photometry in an effort to localize the origin of the outbursts.AST-1615796 - Boston Universit
Near-threshold production of -mesons in and NN collisions and -mixing
We consider near-threshold -meson production in and
collisions. An effective Lagrangian approach with one-pion exchange is applied
to analyze different contributions to the cross section for different isospin
channels. The Reggeon exchange mechanism is also evaluated for comparison. The
results from reactions are used to calculate the contribution of the
meson to the cross sections and invariant mass distributions
of the reactions and . It is found that
the experimental observation of mesons in the reaction is much more promising than the observation of mesons in
the reaction . Effects of isospin violation in the reactions
, , and , which are induced by -- mixing, are also analyzed.Comment: 43 pages, including 16 eps figures, to be bublished in Phys. Atom.

Aspects of a0-f0 mixing in the reaction pn->da0
Some aspects of a0-f0 mixing effects in the reaction
with perpendicular polarized proton beam are discussed. An angular--asymmetry
parameter is defined to study those effects. It is shown that, for energies
close to the production threshold, the angular--asymmetry parameter is proportional to the a0-f0 mixing amplitude for arbitrary polar and
azimuthal angles and of the outgoing meson. This
statement is also valid for arbitrary energies, but then only at polar angles
and . The mass dependence of the differential cross
section in the reaction in the
presence of \mix mixing is also discussed.Comment: 17 pages, 3 Figure
t-3-Ethyl-r-2,c-6-bis(4-methoxyphenyl)-1-nitrosopiperidin-4-one
In the title molecule, C21H24N2O4, the piperidine ring adopts a distorted boat conformation with the ethyl substituent in the axial position. The dihedral angle between the two benzene rings is 70.25 (9)°. An intramolecular C—H⋯O interaction is observed. In the crystal, molecules are linked into a chain along the c axis by C—H⋯O hydrogen bonds and the chains are linked via weak C—H⋯π interactions
Features of compiling metabolic correction programs for professional athletes and the possibility of their optimization using digital technologies
To compile a personalized program for correcting the metabolism of a professional athlete, it is necessary to take into account many factors, including age, gender, sports specialization, individual characteristics, the pathologies in the anamnesis, the stage of the athlete’s training cycle, etc. When drawing up such programs for athletes of sports national teams of the Russian Federation, a scheme for assessing the characteristics of the athlete’s body is used, the basis for which is information obtained during in-depth medical examinations of athletes conducted on the basis of clinics of the FMBA Russia. To improve the quality of personalized programs of metabolic correction in the future, it is possible to use professionally oriented reference intervals of laboratory blood parameters, as well as the results of genetic screening based on the strategy of complete exomic sequencing of the athlete’s genome. One of the ways to increase the efficiency of metabolic correction of professional athletes is the introduction of modern information technologies and the development of a modern information system based on them. The introduction of such an information system will increase the speed of primary processing of initial information about the health status of the athlete and the peculiarities of his metabolic processes, as well as partially automate the formation of individualized recommendations regarding the diet and hydratation, and the choice of metabolic correction at various stages of the sports season
Increasing the Effectiveness of Pedagogical Technologies in Education: Psychological Experience of Technological Change Management
This paper investigates the psychology of change management involving a technological change in the educational organization and the administrative and teaching staff. In particular, the paper delineates the staff’s psychological experience regarding the incorporation of pedagogical and educational technologies. In this regard, this article provides theoretical support based on the stimulus-organism-response theory, technological self-efficacy, and technological acceptance model and develops a theoretical model. A quantitative approach was applied to test the model, and research assumptions were drawn from the aforementioned theories. Particularly, disruptive statistics and correlation analysis were employed to test the assumption empirically by collecting data from 500 staff members. The research results highlight that a psychological response serves as the antecedent of the effectiveness of pedagogical and educational technologies, whereby the positive psychological responses (happiness, inspiration, or drive) would increase the effectiveness, while the negative psychological responses (anxiety, stress, and discomfort) would decrease it. This psychological response depends on the perceived self-efficacy and perceived ease of use of the staff, whose lower levels of the two raise the negative psychological response. Generally, to increase the effectiveness of pedagogical and educational technologies, it is essential to effectively manage the psychological well-being of the staff by reducing their negative psychological responses and developing their technological competence (self-efficacy and ability to use with ease). Phenotypic heterogeneity and diagnostic features of transthyretin amyloidosis with polyneuropathy
Transthyretin amyloidosis (ATTR-amyloidosis) is a systemic progressive fatal disease, for which a modifying therapy has recently been proposed that delays the progression of the disease and improves the patient’s quality of life. The delay in the diagnosis of ATTR-amyloidosis is associated with the heterogeneity of the manifestations of the disease, as well as insufficient awareness of doctors of different specialties about the disease. A review of recent studies on the symptomatology, diagnosis, molecular genetic characteristics of ATTR-amyloidosis and the most common forms of the disease with the predominant involvement of peripheral nerves and the heart, as well as the kidneys, gastrointestinal tract, and eyes is presented. The international consensus recommendations for the diagnosis of suspected ATTR-amyloidosis using modern methods that facilitate early and accurate diagnosis are discussed. The reasons and the most frequent misdiagnoses of ATTR-amyloidosis, which also lead to a delay in the timely appointment of therapy, are considered. Molecular genetic testing should be considered early in the evaluation of a patient with unexplained peripheral neuropathy and cardiomyopathy. A diagnostic algorithm based on the initial symptoms and manifestations of the cardiovascular and nervous systems facilitates the identification of a patient with clinical suspicion of ATTR-amyloidosis by the general practitioner. Early diagnosis is critically important for patients with ATTR polyneuropathy, since the early prescription of Vyndaqel (tafamidis), registered in the Russian Federation in 2017, allows a significant clinical effect to be obtained. Timely administration of Vyndaqel significantly slows down the progression of the disease, improves the prognosis and quality of life in patients with ATTR polyneuropathy
Cytokine profile in chronic diffuse liver diseases (literature review)
In recent years, there has been a steady increase in chronic diffuse liver diseases, which are characterized by severe, progressive and are one of the main causes of disability and mortality in developed countries. The course and prognosis of chronic hepatitis and liver cirrhosis are largely determined by the state of the immune status of the organism. At all stages of the immune response, cytokines take an active part in it, which regulate intercellular and intersystem interactions. The literature review presents current data on the role of cytokines in the development of CDLD and portal hypertension.
