One of the most important aspects of organizational development is found within the human resources, where there are different methods to examine the way people are perceiving the business development and their surroundings. Inter-subjectivity like topic of the enterprise reality is one of the methods to gather the way in which the incumbents perceive phenomenon, being this a fundamental source for measuring the organizations alignment with its strategic platform. This study seeks to examine the way Colpatrias employees perceive the financial sector, on which the enterprise exists

A CMB lensing analysis of the extended mass distribution of clusters

The aim of this work is to study the anisotropic weak lensing signal associated with the mass distribution of massive clusters of galaxies using the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) data. For this purpose, we stack patches of the Planck Collaboration 2018 CMB lensing convergence map centered on SDSS DR8 redMaPPer clusters within the redshift range [0.4, 0.5]. We obtain mean radial profiles of the convergence parameter k finding strong signals at scales as large as 40 Mpc/h. By orienting the clusters along their major axis defined through the galaxy member distribution, we find a significant difference between the parallel and perpendicular oriented convergence profiles. The amplitude of the profile along the parallel direction is about 50% larger than that along the perpendicular direction, indicating that the clusters are well aligned with the surrounding mass distribution. From a model with an anisotropic surface mass density, we obtain a suitable agreement for both mass and ellipticities of clusters compared to results derived from weak lensing shear estimates, finding strong evidence of the correlation between the galaxy cluster member distribution and the large--scale mass distribution.Comment: 8 pages, 9 figure

On neutrino-mediated potentials in a neutrino background

The exchange of a pair of neutrinos with Standard Model weak interactions generates a long-range force between fermions. The associated potential is extremely feeble, GF2/r5\propto G_F^2/r^5 for massless neutrinos, which renders it far from observable even in the most sensitive experiments testing fifth forces. The presence of a neutrino background has been argued to induce a correction to the neutrino propagator that enhances the potential by orders of magnitude. In this brief note, we point out that such modified propagators are invalid if the background neutrino wavepackets have a finite width. By reevaluating the 2--ν\nu exchange potential in the presence of a neutrino background including finite width effects, we find that the background-induced enhancement is reduced by several orders of magnitude. This confirms the intuitive result that coherent enhancements to the potential can only be large for distances of the order of the background wavepacket width. Unfortunately, this pushes the resulting 2--ν\nu exchange potential away from present and near-future sensitivity of tests of new long-range forces.Comment: 11 pages, 3 figures. Results unchanged. The environmental costs of water flow regulation: an innovative approach based on the ‘Polluter Pays’ principle

    Get PDF
The EU Water Framework Directive (WFD) explicitly requires the full cost recovery of water services, including the environmental costs incurred from the damage that water uses inflict on the environment. Although flow regulation by river damming is one of the most prominent human impact on fresh water ecosystems its environmental costs are not properly included in water pricing. This paper presents a novel approach to assessing the environmental costs of flow regulation based on the polluter-pays principle. The methodology includes three steps: (i) assessing the admissible range of regulated flow variability, derived from the natural flow regime variability, (ii) estimating the daily environmental impact of regulated flows according to deviations from the admissible range of flow variability, and (iii) calculating the environmental costs of flow regulation. The procedure is applied to four river case studies in Spain, UK and Norway. The advantages over other water cost valuation methods are discussed. The methodology enlarges the current recognition of environmental costs of water use and represents a practical management tool within the WFD context, encouraging transparency and stakeholder communication

Universidad LibreDerechoEspecialización en derecho penal y criminologíaWithin the Colombian internal legal system, minors are subject to special protection, in this sense the general interest of minors is an aspect that overlaps the general interest of the rest of the population as indicated by the Political Constitution. The present work seeks to demonstrate the violation of rights of adolescents in cases of criminal responsibility, while the applicable special rule does not allow young people between 14 and 18 years of age who face a process of criminal responsibility to have the right to negotiations and preliminary agreements. that if it has contemplated the criminal procedure for the adults. Consequently, international law and human rights norms that also shield and seek to ensure that the rights of minors are protected are ignore

Towards a holistic indicator of flow disturbance impact: fish community size spectra

    Get PDF
Fish size-spectra provide a simple synthetic metric to assess the effects of pressures on the overall function of river ecosystems. An exploration of the effects of hydrological pressures on this metric is addressed in order to test its sensitiveness as a potential holistic indicator of ecological integrity. A set of 652 sampling sites with individual fish length data were used to compare the size-spectra among unimpaired sites and sites only affected by hydrological pressures. The variation of size-spectra along a gradient of rheophily was also considered. Our results show that size spectra slopes are naturally steeper in rheophilic than in limnephilic reaches. According to this, hydrological alterations produce different responses in the fish community size spectra. Hydrologically impaired rheophilic reaches show an increase in the ecological efficiency (size spectra slope) but a decrease in community capacity (elevation of the size spectra), whereas limnephilic reaches experience a decrease in the ecological efficiency but an increase in the food-web capacity (increased elevation of the size spectra). Slight differences in the type of the hydrological alteration (e.g. water abstraction vs. hydropeaking) might explain these effects

Compact Groups analysis using weak gravitational lensing II: CFHT Stripe 82 data

In this work we present a lensing study of Compact Groups (CGs) using data obtained from the high-quality Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope Stripe 82 Survey. Using stacking techniques we obtain the average density contrast profile. We analyse the lensing signal dependence on the groups' surface brightness and morphological content, for CGs in the redshift range z = 0.2-0.4.We obtain a larger lensing signal for CGs with higher surface brightness, probably due to their lower contamination by interlopers. Also, we find a strong dependence of the lensing signal on the group concentration parameter, with the most concentrated quintile showing a significant lensing signal, consistent with an isothermal sphere with σV = 336 ± 28 km s-1 and a NFW profile with R200 = 0.60 ± 0.05 h-1 70 Mpc. We also compare lensing results with dynamical estimates finding a good agreement with lensing determinations for CGs with higher surface brightness and higher concentration indexes. On the other hand, CGs that are more contaminated by interlopers show larger dynamical dispersions, since interlopers bias dynamical estimates to larger values, although the lensing signal is weakened.Fil: Chalela Garcia, Martin. Early School Leaving is a problem that worries countries around the world. This is because it directly affects both the lives of students who abandon and society in general. The objective of the present study is to know the perception that Primary Education, Compulsory Secondary Education and Upper Secondary Education teachers have on the most influential variables that affect Early School Leaving. The research carried out follows a survey methodology, by administering a questionnaire with 85 variables identified in the scientific literature. 134 responses were obtained from teachers throughout Spain. The results indicate that the variables considered more related to Early School Leaving are those related to individual and family characteristics. To a lesser extent, the school activity of the individual as a student, the attitude of the faculty, the behaviour of the classmates and the characteristics of the school are considered related. We conclude that we are facing a phenomenon of complex causes that should not be approached exclusively from an academic perspective but multidisciplinary.

Development of Taenia pisiformis in golden hamster (Mesocricetus auratus)

    Get PDF
The life cycle of Taenia pisiformis includes canines as definitive hosts and rabbits as intermediate hosts. Golden hamster (Mesocricetus auratus) is a rodent that has been successfully used as experimental model of Taenia solium taeniosis. In the present study we describe the course of T. pisiformis infection in experimentally infected golden hamsters. Ten females, treated with methyl-prednisolone acetate were infected with three T. pisiformis cysticerci each one excised from one rabbit. Proglottids released in faeces and adults recovered during necropsy showed that all animals were infected. Eggs obtained from the hamsters' tapeworms, were assessed for viability using trypan blue or propidium iodide stains. Afterwards, some rabbits were inoculated with eggs, necropsy was performed after seven weeks and viable cysticerci were obtained. Our results demonstrate that the experimental model of adult Taenia pisiformis in golden hamster can replace the use of canines in order to study this parasite and to provide eggs and adult tapeworms to be used in different types of experiments
