New species and designation of primary types in Neotropical carpenter bees of the genus Xylocopa Latreille (Hymenoptera, Apidae)
We describe and figure two distinctive new species of Neotropical carpenter bees of the genus Xylocopa, X. (Schonnherria) barbarae sp. n. from Bolivia, and X. (Schonnherria) bigibbosa sp. n. from Peru. To stabilize the names, we designate a neotype for X. (Schonnherria) dimidiata Latreille and lectotypes for the following species: X. (Neoxylocopa) andica Enderlein, X. (Neoxylocopa) columbiensis Pérez, X. (Neoxylocopa) mendozana Enderlein, and X. (Neoxylocopa) rufidorsum Enderlein. For each species, we provide comparative diagnosis, taxonomic comments, and summarize its distribution.Facultad de Ciencias Naturales y Muse
On -stable locally checkable problems parameterized by mim-width
In this paper we continue the study of locally checkable problems under the
framework introduced by Bonomo-Braberman and Gonzalez in 2020, by focusing on
graphs of bounded mim-width. We study which restrictions on a locally checkable
problem are necessary in order to be able to solve it efficiently on graphs of
bounded mim-width. To this end, we introduce the concept of -stability of a
check function. The related locally checkable problems contain large classes of
problems, among which we can mention, for example, LCVP problems. We give an
algorithm showing that these problems are XP when parameterized by the
mim-width of a given binary decomposition tree of the input graph, that is,
that they can be solved in polynomial time given a binary decomposition tree of
bounded mim-width. We explore the relation between -stable locally checkable
problems and the recently introduced DN logic (Bergougnoux, Dreier and Jaffke,
2022), and show that both frameworks model the same family of problems. We
include a list of concrete examples of -stable locally checkable problems
whose complexity on graphs of bounded mim-width was open so far
A new approach on locally checkable problems
By providing a new framework, we extend previous results on locally checkable
problems in bounded treewidth graphs. As a consequence, we show how to solve,
in polynomial time for bounded treewidth graphs, double Roman domination and
Grundy domination, among other problems for which no such algorithm was
previously known. Moreover, by proving that fixed powers of bounded degree and
bounded treewidth graphs are also bounded degree and bounded treewidth graphs,
we can enlarge the family of problems that can be solved in polynomial time for
these graph classes, including distance coloring problems and distance
domination problems (for bounded distances)
Characterising circular-arc contact -VPG graphs
A contact -VPG graph is a graph for which there exists a collection of
nontrivial pairwise interiorly disjoint horizontal and vertical segments in
one-to-one correspondence with its vertex set such that two vertices are
adjacent if and only if the corresponding segments touch. It was shown by Deniz
et al. that Recognition is -complete for contact -VPG graphs.
In this paper we present a minimal forbidden induced subgraph characterisation
of contact -VPG graphs within the class of circular-arc graphs and provide
a polynomial-time algorithm for recognising these graphs
Systematics and biology of xylocopa subgenus schonnherria (HYmenoptera, Apidae) in Argentina
Biological information on the species of the large carpenter bee Xylocopa subgenus Schonnherria occurring in Argentina is revised. Based on the appraisal of museum specimens, the study of type material, and field surveys conducted across 15 provinces between 2007 and 2011, the following seven species are recognized for the country: X. bambusae Schrottky, X. chrysopoda Schrottky, X. macrops Lepeletier de Saint Fargeau, X. simillima Smith X. splendidula Lepeletier de Saint Fargeau, X. pulchra Smith, and X. viridis Smith. Previous literature records of X. dimidiata Latreille, X. subcyanea Pérez, and X. varians Smith for the province of Misiones appear to have been misidentified specimens, although the presence of these species in Argentina cannot be entirely ruled out given the proximity of this province to Brazil and Paraguay where they occur; X. boops Maidl was described from a male specimen with unusually enlarged eyes and is newly synonymized under X. macrops. Males and females of all species are diagnosed, described, and figured, including details of the male genitalia. Taxonomic comments, data on the geographical distribution and nesting substrates, and identification keys to all Argentinean species of Schonnherria are provided. The nesting biologies of X. splendidula and X. viridis are documented.

This critical argumentative essay shows how participatory communication enhances the processes in the communities, it is thanks to it that the quality of life of the inhabitants of the La Pradera neighborhood is improved, because by involving them their problems can be more easily evidenced. needs and realities, favoring the different population groups that make it up, it is intended to encourage the dissemination and communication processes, evidenced thanks to the work carried out through action research, creating a communication strategy that adjusts to its reality as a community, where you can Thanks to the programs that they develop together with the inhabitants of the sector, they achieve equity and conciliation spaces that will allow them to resolve conflicts; The leadership shown by the Community Action Board of the La Pradera neighborhood thanks to the implementation of social programs and calls benefits the inhabitants of the sector who know them where, thanks to their initiatives, they now also intend to have a positive impact on the community near the town of Puente Aranda and surrounding towns in the conciliation center
Arabidopsis thaliana TCP15 interacts with the MIXTA-like transcription factor MYB106/NOECK
MYB106 and MYB16 are MIXTA-like transcription factors that control trichome maturation and cuticle formation in Arabidopsis. In a recent study, we found that the TEOSINTE BRANCHED 1, CYCLOIDEA and PROLIFERATING CELL FACTORS (TCP) transcription factor TCP15 also acts as an important regulator of aerial epidermis specialization in Arabidopsis through the control of trichome development and cuticle formation. TCP15 and MYB106 regulate the expression of common groups of genes, including genes coding for transcription factors and enzymes of the cuticle biosynthesis pathway. In this study, we report that TCP15 physically interacts with MYB106 when both proteins are expressed in yeast cells or Nicotiana bentamiana leaves. Furthermore, we also observed interaction in leaves of Arabidopsis thaliana. Altogether, our findings raise the possibility that TCP15 and MYB106 bind together to the promoters of target genes to exert their action. Our data provide a base to investigate the role of TCP-MIXTA complexes in the context of cuticle development in Arabidopsis thaliana.Fil: Camoirano, Alejandra.
