A marketing plan is not a communication plan
We show the difference between the communication plan and the marketing plan. Despite the fact that both of them have a lot of similar characteristics, the communication plan has to be part of the marketing plan. Without communication it is not possible a marketing plan because the communication is one of the marketing plan parts. The communication is not possible without marketing.
Communication is one of the most important tasks of marketing. It is a tool which is enshrined in the business or library strategy. Marketing is the bridge between what the libraries are offering and the users are expecting. We have to be ready to communicate steadily what the librarians are able to do in order to satisfy the user’s need. A marketing plan is a document where the objectives, communication channels, public objective and action plan are defined. The continuous assessment is the key to the success. We offer some examples of communication plan and marketing plan

Corporate reputation of libraries in social media
The presence of organizations in social media is reaching a degree of maturity and, at the same time, it increases the need to manage reputation online, due to the impact of social media in a digital and networked environment. Libraries, as any other type of organizations, need to have a social media plan, in order to ensure proper management of digital identity and brand reputation, increase their prestige and influence in this environment –engagement and advocacy in stakeholders–, and establish the priorities for an eventual crisis by appropriate resources. In any case, we have to articulate a serie of indicators that seeks to evaluate the library’s reputation and influence for the purpose of decision-making
One metric does not tell the whole story of scientific production. I. Visibility
Introduction: There are different strategies for scientific publication that can be addressed from
the perspective of visibility, contemplating the uniformity of the firm and author profiles. Method:
Narrative review Results: recommendations for the implementation of the author's signature
and description of each of the profiles existing in both traditional resources as altmetrics author.
Conclusions: scientific researchers must know the visibility strategies described in this article
in order to improve recovery of its publications, increase the impact of its production and
achieve greater visibility and connection with other researchers through the author profiles
One metric does not tell the whole story of scientific production. II. Publication

from the perspective of the publication itself, quality of publications and metrics for evaluation.
Method: Narrative review. Results: Description of existing methods for detecting evidence of
quality publications and metrics at different levels that have generated traditional and alternative
sources at the level of individual contribution, publication, author and institutions. They
are considered both traditional metrics such as altmétricas called. Conclusions: Given the
variety of metrics offered by providers of electronic resources, researchers must know their
existence and characteristics, how to obtain and interpret them to demonstrate the quality of
their publications to third parties
Academic library spaces are transforming to adapt to new forms of learning, while at the same time the library print-collections, with reduced or zero use, are being moved to library marginal zones or to sites that are external to library buildings. The causes of transformation to library spaces are described, as well as the consequences that this transformation implies in new forms of collection storage, and the supply of new and diverse learning spaces, without limiting access to informatio
One metric does not tell the whole story of scientific production. III. Management and conclusions
Introduction: There are different strategies for scientific publication that can be addressed

Las bibliotecas universitarias en su contexto actual
The academic libraries are complex institutions with a lot of roles; they have offered their services and products along the History and their main goal has been permanent: to offer access to the useful and real scientific information. But today, we are seeing that this role is not the same because of the digital technology. In this paper we try to show basics lines in order the academic libraries recover their prominent status in the digital era: selecting resources and management licences, working with metadata, offering reference virtual services, information literacy, digitizing documents, IR and learning spaces. These services come from the main mission of the academic library and they are in the line of the academic library future
Reading indicators on the social networks Goodreads and LibraryThing and their impact on Amazon
Summary: The aim of this paper is to identify relations between the most reviews and ratings books in Goodreads and LibraryThing, two of the most impacting social networks of reading, and the list of top-selling titles in Amazon, the giant of the distribution. After a description of both networks and study of their web impact, we have conducted an analysis of correlations in order to see the level of dependency between statistical data they offer and the list of top-selling in Amazon. Only some slight evidences have been found. However there appears to be a strong or moderate correlation between the rest of the data, according to that we propose a battery of indicators to measure the book impact on reading. Keywords: Goodreads, LibraryThing, reading social networks, virtual reading clubs, reading indicators, Amazo
