Graphical functions in parametric space
Graphical functions are positive functions on the punctured complex plane
which arise in quantum field theory. We generalize
a parametric integral representation for graphical functions due to Lam, Lebrun
and Nakanishi, which implies the real analyticity of graphical functions.
Moreover we prove a formula that relates graphical functions of planar dual
graphs.Comment: v2: extended introduction, minor changes in notation and correction

Theoretical and experimental status of rare charm decays
Rare charm decays offer the unique possibility to explore flavour-changing
neutral-currents in the up-sector within the Standard Model and beyond. Due to
the lack of effective methods to reliably describe its low energy dynamics,
rare charm decays have been considered as less promising for long. However,
this lack does not exclude the possibility to perform promising searches for
New Physics per se, but a different philosophy of work is required. Exact or
approximate symmetries of the Standard Model allow to construct clean null-test
observables, yielding an excellent road to the discovery of New Physics,
complementing the existing studies in the down-sector. In this review, we
summarize the theoretical and experimental status of rare charm transitions, as well as opportunities for current and future
experiments such as LHCb, Belle II, BES III, the FCC-ee and proposed tau-charm
factories. We also use the most recent experimental results to report updated
limits on lepton-flavour conserving and lepton-flavour violating Wilson
coefficients.Comment: 35 pages, 6 charming figures, 10 table
Parametric quantum electrodynamics
This thesis is concerned with the study of Schwinger parametric Feynman integrals in quantum electrodynamics. Using a variety of tools from combinatorics and graph theory, significant simplification of the integrand is achieved. After a largely self-contained introduction to Feynman graphs and integrals, the derivation of the Schwinger parametric representation from the standard momentum space integrals is reviewed in full detail for both scalar theories and quantum electrodynamics. The derivatives needed to express Feynman integrals in quantum electrodynamics in their parametric version are found to contain new types of graph polynomials based on cycle and bond subgraphs. Then the tensor structure of quantum electrodynamics, products of Dirac matrices and their traces, is reduced to integer factors with a diagrammatic interpretation of their contraction. Specifically, chord diagrams with a particular colouring are used. This results in a parametric integrand that contains sums of products of cycle and bond polynomials over certain subsets of such chord diagrams. Further study of the polynomials occurring in the integrand reveals connections to other well-known graph polynomials, the Dodgson and spanning forest polynomials. This is used to prove an identity that expresses some of the very large sums over chord diagrams in a very concise form. In particular, this leads to cancellations that massively simplify the integrand

Lepton universality and lepton flavor conservation tests with dineutrino modes
-invariance links charged dilepton and dineutrino couplings.
Phenomenological implications are worked out for flavor changing neutral
currents involving strange, charm, beauty and top quark transitions in a
model-independent way. We put forward novel tests of lepton universality and
lepton flavor conservation in and , , transitions suitable for the experiments Belle II and
BES III. Single top production plus dileptons uniquely probes semileptonic
four-fermion , , couplings and further study
at the LHC is encouraged. Tests with single top production associated with
dileptons and missing energy are suitable for study at future or muon
colliders.Comment: 10 pages, 4 figures, 7 tables. v2: Discussion of concrete

Pinning down
We study the full angular distribution of semileptonic rare charm baryon decays in which the secondary baryon undergoes weak decay with sizable polarization parameter, , and . Such self-analyzing decay chains allow for seven additional observables compared to three-body decays such as , with different sensitivities to the weak couplings. Opportunities to test the standard model in transitions with standard model null tests and other angular observables are worked out. We show that a joint model-independent analysis of the leptonic , hadronic , and combined forward–backward asymmetry together with the fraction of longitudinally produced leptons, , is able to pin down the dipole couplings and the semileptonic (axial-) vector ones . is also accessible with dineutrino modes and probes right-handed currents
