International audienceThis paper presents a simulator for the design of the management architecture of cognitive radio (CR) equipments. It explains the requirements for CR systems in terms of reconfiguration, smartness and sensing capabilities. A key point in CR systems is the reusabilaty and the reconfiguration possibilities. Thus classical approaches, which refer to create specialized material to assume communication process, can not be used. Indeed, CR systems have to be deployed on a heterogenous execution platform to be flexible and adaptable. We propose a simulator based on a Hierarchical and Distributed Cognitive Radio Architecture Management (HDCRAM) meta-model to play CR scenarios. The simulator particularly helps defining precisely the needs in terms of CR management architecture
