A survey of teacher knowledge and understanding of special education law

    Get PDF
This study investigated teacher knowledge and understanding of special education law. Teachers from 3 elementary schools in a district in Northwest Arkansas were asked a sample of questions in a survey. Using the survey, the participants’ responses were evaluated to determine the extent of their knowledge. Participation was voluntary, and conducted during school hours. The results of the study concluded that respondent teachers have a general knowledge of special education law indicating that they differentiate instruction as a means to meet IDEA and other laws as appropriate

The molecules of compound (IV) are linked into centrosymmetric R22(10) dimers by N-HO hydrogen bonds, and those of compound (I) are linked into chains by C-H(arene) hydrogen bonds. A combination of O-HO and O-HN hydrogen bonds links the molecules of compound (III) into sheets containing equal numbers of R44(14) and R44(26) rings, and a combination of C-H(arene) hydrogen bonds and three-centre O-H(N,O) hydrogen bonds links the molecules of compound (II) into a three-dimensional framework structure. Comparisons are made with some related compounds.Publisher PDFPeer reviewe

Determining Whether a Spot Urine Sample is an Accurate Indication of a Person\u27s Hydration Status

    Get PDF
The purpose of this study was to determine what technique would be an accurate measurement of an individual’s hydration status. According to current research on hydration assessment, the “gold standard” to assess the hydration of an individual is by measuring their total body water (Armstrong, Lawrence 2007). This is the most accurate measurement in a laboratory setting, but finding a measurement that works during a real time setting has been a challenge. It was proposed that a spot urine sample would provide more accurate results than a first- morning urine sample when compared to a 24-hour urine sample set as the “gold standard” of this experiment

University of Montana Students and the Gardasil Vaccine

    Get PDF
Gardasil® is a vaccine for human papilloma virus (HPV), a sexually transmitted virus that can cause genital warts, cervical cancer, and other diseases. Males and females ages 9-26 are recommended to receive the Gardasil® vaccination. Most students attending the University of Montana (UM) are within the recommended age range for Gardasil® vaccination and would benefit from receiving it if they have not yet done so. Gardasil® is available at the Health Services Pharmacy on the UM campus and is often covered by insurance plans with no patient copay. In the fall semester of 2016, surveys were given to patients at the Health Services Pharmacy that inquired about the student’s Gardasil® vaccination status, barriers to vaccination they may encounter, their knowledge of HPV, and the student’s opinion of the Gardasil® vaccine. The results of the survey highlight a low vaccination rate in UM students, particularly in male students. Respondents were unaware of both the vaccine and its availability at the Health Services Pharmacy. In addition, a difference in knowledge about HPV was seen between vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals, with more vaccinated respondents correctly answering questions regarding Gardasil® and HPV. The results of this study suggest that a Gardasil® educational campaign should increase HPV awareness and vaccination rates in the student population at UM

Does the rise of illiberal allies matter for the durability of the NATO alliance? Theory testing liberal and realist perspectives to the cases of Poland and Turkey

    Get PDF
Can illiberalism lead to problems for the durability of NATO? The objective of this thesis is to prove that illiberal states do not disrupt alliances, particularly the NATO alliance. I will compare competing hypotheses of alliance theory: the liberal explanation against the realist explanation. The hypothesis of this paper is that realist theory provides a better explanation to prove that alliances are not affected by illiberal states as long as they contribute to the security of the alliance. In order to investigate, I will conduct research through comparative case-based studies that analyze Polish and Turkish engagement with NATO. By investigating these relationships, I will find that the realist theory is better supported to these case states. In conclusion, alliances will endure because small states cannot secure themselves.https://www.ester.ee/record=b5407031*es
