A wide literature considers the problem of learning relative to the electrical circuits starting from different perspectives. A lot of work has be done as concern learning difficulties on developing systemic reasoning on functioning of electric circuits, on different aspects: 1) the conceptual differentiations of charge, current, voltage, energy, 2) establishing phenomenological relations between electrostatics and electrodynamics, 3) linking macro and micro level of description of processes. Different strategies are implemented in teaching/learning proposal on this last point and to produce a systemic vision and functional reasoning. Simulations are developed to provide micro level representation both of simple circuit functioning and of electrical transport phenomena in solids, but an exploration is lacking on spontaneous pupils’ ideas about microscopic models of electrical conduction. Critical details and the spontaneous angles of attach to the topic are relevant in activating learning, therefore in simple situations with electric circuits, individual interviews are submitted according to a semi-structured protocol to 10 (N=11) and 13 (N=35) year old pupils of 3 different schools in the context of an hands-on exhibit, to gain competences in the representation perspective of pupils in their first approach to the models of electrical conduction in metals

Reciprocal Function Series Coefficients with Integer Partitions

We obtain an explicit formula in terms of the partitions of the positive integer n to express the nth coefficient of the formal series expansion of the reciprocal of a given function. A brief survey shows that our arithmetic proof differs from others, some obtained already in the XIX century. Examples are given to establish explicit formulas for Bernoulli, Euler, and Fibonacci numbers

The article starts from the “National Strategic Plan of the Harbours and Logistics”, approved by the Italian Government in July 2015, setting out the development strategies of the Italian port system and providing, among the other things, the redesign of the governance of the Italian port system. The old existing 24 Port authorities are replaced by 15 Authorities of port- system, in which different ports are combined in order to create an efficient port system able to compete and succeed in the overall system of commercial traffic in the Mediterranean Sea. Within this framework, the creation of a new Authority is provided, which incorporates the former Calabrian Port System with the old Port Authority of Messina. In this way we are going to create a large port system, centred on the area of the Messina Strait, comprising 10 ports, including the transhipment port of Gioia Tauro, which represents the core of the entire port system, and the port of Messina, the most important passenger port in Italy and one of the most important as regards the cruise sector. The article analyses the development perspectives that this system can offer with regard to two important aspects: the realization of the project -already imagined in the late '60s- for an Integrated Metropolitan Area of the Strait, including the two metropolitan cities of Messina and Reggio Calabria; the transformation of the port of Gioia Tauro, from an exclusively transhipment port into an Intermodal Logistics Pole, which will be the central strategic hub of a large logistics platform of the Strait Area, which implementation should be a great opportunity for the development of the entire Mezzogiorno. DOI: http://dx.medra.org/10.19254/LaborEst.11.1

A wide literature regards learning difficulties relating to electrical circuits. Many researches focus on different aspects of student reasoning on circuits functioning: i) the conceptual differentiation of charge, current, voltage, energy; ii) link between electrostatics and electrodynamics, iii) connection between macroscopic (founded on voltage/current) and microscopic (in terms of particles and interactions) level of description of the processes. Regarding the point (iii) an exploration is missing of spontaneous ideas which play an important role in learning. So, this research has explored the reasoning and models of 10 (N = 11) and 13 (N = 35) years old pupils on microscopic processes that occur in conductor wires. The data discussion indicates that reflection on microscopic processes helps students to overcome local reasoning and to gain a vision of the circuit as a system of interacting elements (systemic reasoning).Una vasta letteratura considera le difficoltà di apprendimento relative ai circuiti elettrici.

This paper proposes a reflection about the possibility of initiating a virtuous development processes within the Metropolitan City of Reggio Calabria through an adequate enhancement of the inner areas. The choice to make Metropolitan cities coincides with the old province acquires sense and reason only if the fate of weakest and poorest areas integrates with the one of the strongest and richest areas. Through the analysis of the various tools that have regulated the planning processes of the Calabrian internal areas over the years, the hypothesis to be developed in the paper is that the “Reggio Calabria metropolitan strategic plan” should be characterized by a more flexible territorial planning capable of creating networked projects, outlining a long-term general framework and taking into account that with different objectives different perimeters may correspond. A “variable geometry” which, while taking into account the municipal or inter-municipal administrative limits, pursues an integrated method, able to ensure the coherence between sectorial policies and articulated according to the different territorial divisions

The IWB for the construction of formal thinking: proposals for prospective primary teachers concerning motion, electrical and magnetic phenomena

The Interactive Whiteboard is a multimedia tool that has a continuous increasing diffusion in schools, but, too often, it is used to a simple transposition of activities designed for other multimedia tools. The development of specific designed activities centered on the development of learning process as regards the methods of teaching and the contents of the specific disciplines is needed. In teaching/learning physics, IWB can become a tool for conceptual modeling. In this paper, examples of activities designed for primary school pupils are discussed in relation with motion, electrostatic, magnetism phenomena evidencing the role of simple tools of the IWB to stimulate the formalization and the collaborative discussion between pupils
