    Limnological Alterations on Lentic Environments Related to the conditions of the Watershed – Jacuí-Mirim river – RS

    On limnological studies, the influence of terrestrial environments and the meteorological conditions have been altering the natural characteristics of the optically active elements of water. Facing this problem, the following study proposes to identify, analyze and gather evidences supporting the variation on TSS concentration, pH and CE on the watershed of the Jacuí-Mirim River, RS, Brazil. The limnological collections were performed in October 2009, on three sample stations located on the site of study. The data collected on site and in the laboratory were interpreted and complemented with information of other works done on the same field of study. It was observed that the alterations of the natural characteristics caused on the aquatic environment evolve due to a variety of on influences, mainly on predominantly rural areas. Such finding was evident because of expressive values found for TSS concentration (maximum of 14 mg/L). It is believed the highest value of pH (7.5) is due to the influence of sediments deriving from farmable soils that use limestone for correction. The CE presented good conditions (maximum of 26.9 μS /cm). However, it is needed to constantly verify pH, CE and other parameters of analysis in order to achieve a more precise conclusion

    The anthropic activities, such as the usage of land for agriculture, have been modifying the natural processes, mainly on aquatic environments. Following this statement, this work aimed at characterizing and analyzing the transparency and pH of the Ernestina power plant watershed (UHE) located on the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The methodology consisted on the collection of water samples in six points of the watershed and laboratorial analysis of the limnological variables pH and Transparency. The results of the sample points show high values for transparency and basic pH levels associated to the absence of rainfall on the day before the field study. The analysis of the compiled results compared to previous researches shows that a seasonal eutrophication process that may be related to the inadequate usage of land on the microbasins that constitute the watershed in the face of intense rainfall

    The purpose of the research included the analysis of the landuse in different watersheds relating them to the measurements of Total Solids Suspension (TSS) and secchi disc transparency of Passo Real hydroelectric power plants reservoir. The maps were elaborated on Jacuí, Jacuí Mirim and Ingaí watersheds, which contemplated the plants development stage (march) and the after-harvest stage with an exposed soil (may) in the year of 2009. The Thematic Mapper (TM) Landsat RGB/543 satellite images were used for the classification. The TSS variable and the Secchi disc transparency were measured in 22 sampled points located in the edge and in the main axis of the reservoir (in February, April and June/2009). In the classification the section culture pointed out in march: 61,46% Jacuí Mirim, 56,51% Ingaí e 49,55% Jacuí. In may, the section exposed soil stood out with 75,55% in the basin of Jacuí Mirim river, 56,51% in Ingaí river and 49,55% in Jacuí. The higher TSS average values were collected in June, and the lower ones in February. The Secchi disc transparency sample groups data showed consistency with the TSS data once the water transparency was higher while the sediments concentration was lower. Over all, the dynamics that occurs in the aquatic environment of UHE Passo Reals reservoir is related to the entrance of water in the capture basins and suggests distincts water compartments results in different water colorations.Pages: 4185-419

    LINHA DE PREAMAR: UMA REVISÃO SOBRE SEUS CONCEITOS E IMPLICAÇÕES

    A zona costeira brasileira apresenta uma diversidade de paisagens com notável relevância ambiental, econômica e social. Mediante tais características, ainda no início da colonização brasileira, com a intensificação das edificações na orla marítima da cidade do Rio de Janeiro, criou-se o Instituto Jurídico dos Terrenos de Marinha e Seus Acrescidos, para garantir as pessoas e à defesa nacional o acesso público ao mar e às regiões litorâneas. Recentemente, gerou-se um descontentamento dos proprietários de imóveis situados na linha de preamar (LPM), pois o Governo Federal intensificou as ações de gestão de patrimônio da união para regularizar o cumprimento do papel socioambiental de áreas públicas e lucrar com a arrecadação das receitas patrimoniais. Incitado pelas discordâncias entre proprietários e o Governo Federal, o presente trabalho buscou uma revisão de estudos e fatos para discutir sobre o método de delimitação das LPM utilizadas como base para a delimitação dos terrenos de marinha e seus acrescidos no território brasileiro, bem como as consequências que estas delimitações vêm causando para a população envolvida. É fato que a demarcação da LPM é uma exigência legal, prevista em lei, assim como variações ocorridas no nível médio dos mares, mostrando que há a necessidade de ajustes metodológicos para a definição da LPM, a fim de minimizar os conflitos permeados atualmente sobre tal problemática.</p

    As the object of information and analysis, remote sensing images provide new skills to teachers who once worked only with the traditional way of teaching. In the initial series, especially when working with content supported by satellite images, teaching ceases to be purely abstract. In class interdisciplinary History and Geography, fifth graders of elementary school Ana Maria Municipal School Roggia were instructed to investigate the historical transformations in images and environmental changes of the city of Guaíra-PR. Armed with satellite images from different times gave up a lecture on "Remote sensing: satellites and their images" and students were asked to identify the differences and similarities in the city in terms of natural and constructed elements. To systematize the information was applied a questionnaire with objective questions and essay. The result was obtained successfully in the proposed methodology. Although it found that no student had contact with satellite images before activity developed, they reported interest in practice on handling images. Demonstrated an efficient learning knowledge gained by showing the differences and similarities of the city and identify themselves as agents in the lived space conscious and participatory.Pages: 2611-261
